In this study, used simplest sandwich cells containing $Ru2^+$ liquid electrolytes in order to clarify the role of nanoporous $TiO_2$ electrodes. And, the cell structure is as follow: F:$SnO_2$ glass/nanoporous $TiO_2$/ tris(2,2'-bipyridy)ruthenium(II) colplex [$Ru(bpy)_3(PF_6)_2$] in acetonitrile/ F:$SnO_2$ glass. The result, we found that ECL intensities increased rapidly by use of cathodes with nanoporous $TiO_2$ layers. And, porous $TiO_2$ electrodes were confirmed to be efficient for ECL devices as well as solar cell devices. It is thought that the increases in the ECL intensities may be associated with both formation of $Ru^+$ in porous $TiO_2$ electrodes and the process taking place after reduction of $Ru^+$ which occurs in the nanoporous electrodes.
Lightweight metallic truss structures with open, periodic cell are currently being investigated because of their multi-functionality such as thermal management and load bearing. The Kagome truss PCM has been proved that it has higher resistance to plastic buckling, more plastic deformation energy and lower anisotropy than other truss PCMs. The subject of this paper is an examination of the failure mechanism of Wire woven Bulk Kagome(WBK). To address this issue, the out-of-plane compressive responses of the WBK has been measured and compared with theoretical and finite element (FE) predictions. For the experiment, 2 multi-layered WBK are fabricated and 3 specimens are prepared. For the theoretical analysis, the brazed joints of each wire in WBK are modeled as the pin-joint. Then, the peak stress of compressive behavior and elastic modulus are calculated based on the equilibrium equation and energy method. The mechanical structure with five by five cells on the plane are constructed is modeled using the commercial code, PATRAN 2005. and the analysis is achieved by the commercial FE code ABAQUS version 6.5 under the incremental theory of plasticity.

Transparent and conducting ITO/Cu/ITO multilayered films were deposited by magnetron sputtering on unheated polycarbonate (PC) substrates. The thickness of the Cu intermediate film was varied from 5 to 20 nm. Changes in the microstructure and optoelectrical properties of ITO/Cu/ITO films were investigated with respect to the thickness of the Cu intermediated layer. The optoelectrical properties of the films were significantly influenced by the thickness of the Cu interlayer. The sandwich structure of ITO 50 nm/Cu 5 nm/ITO 45 nm films had a sheet resistance of $36{\Omega}$/Sq. and an optical transmittance of 67% (contain substrate) at a wavelength of 550 nm, while the ITO 50 nm/Cu 20 nm/ITO 30 nm films had a sheet resistance of $70{\Omega}$/Sq. and an optical transmittance of 36%. The electrical and optical properties of ITO/Cu/ITO films were determined mainly by the Cu film properties. From the figure of merit, it is concluded that the ITO/Cu/ITO films with a 5 nm Cu interlayer showed the better performance in transparent conducting electrode applications than the conventional ITO films.

This study was performed to investigated the application of mixed resins for corrugated container board. The corrugated container board yields a sandwich structure in which a linerboard material is glued to a corrugated medium . Now, manufacturing corrugated container boards don't provide sufficient strength, and result in box failure during shipping . Therefore improvement of box strength is necessary . In this study, we intend to improve box strength by improving corrugated medium strength with mixed resins and to find the optimum treatment condition of this resins. First, we tried to mixed resins as Starch+CMC, Starch_Irea, CMC+Urea, Second, investigated to applicability of this resins for corrugated medium , and the third, measured tensile index, burst index, and edgewise compression index on liner, medium paper, and single faced corrugated container board. In this test results, we obtained that the improvement ratios of tensile index in liner and medium paper were approximately 80-185%, 60-118% , respectively. The respecting improvement ratios of edgewise compression index of single faced corrugated container board was approximately 91-124%, relatively. In addition, we concluded that optimum condition in mixing ratio was 1 :3 with CMC + Urea and the ap[plication amounts was 9% on materials. Fro manufacture of corrugated container board, optimum condition in mixing ratio was 1 : 3 with 5% CMC +Urea , because of considering to improvement of strength on cost.
Cadmium selenide is one of the group IIb-VI compounds, which is the promising semiconductor material due to its wide range of technological applications in optoelectronic devices such as photoelectrochemical cells, solid state solar cells, thin film photoconductors etc. CdSe has optical band gap of 1.7-1.8eV and proper conduction band edge for water splitting. CdSe films are coated with small thickness(20-50nm) nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ film by electrodeposition or chemical bath deposition methods and PEC properties of CdSe and CdSe/$TiO_2$ sandwich structure are studied. The photoactivity of CdSe and CdSe/$TiO_2$ films deposited on titanium substrate is studied in aqueous electrolyte of 1M NaOH solution. Photocurrent and photovoltage obtained were of the order of 2-4 mA/$cm^2$ and 0.5V, respectively, under the intensity of illumination of 100 mW/$cm^2$.

The Objective of this work was to design Composite Antenna Structures (CAS) and investigate impact behavior of CAS which was various curvature. This term, CAS, indicates that structural surface becomes antenna. Constituent materials were selected considering electrical properties, dielectric constants and tangent loss as well as mechanical properties. For the antenna performance, microstrip antenna layers inserted into structural layers were designed for satellite communication at the resonant frequency of 12.5 GHz and final demonstration article was. After making five kinds of curved CAS, which radii of curvature are flat, 200, 150, 100, 50 mm. The antenna performance changed in accordance with variation of curvature. The Reflection coefficient was independent of curvature but the gain decreased with the radius of curvature. The impact test equipment was Dyna-8250 drop weight tester. The impact characteristic in accordance with curvature is maximum absorb energy is same each other. The impact energy was 8.5 J. For various Impact energy test, five energy levels 3 J, 5 J, 7 J, 10 J, 20 J were used. The performance of impact damaged antenna was estimated by measuring the return loss and the radiation pattern. It was revealed that the performance of antenna was not related to the impact damage. Because the impactor did not damage the patch directly. CAS have good impact stability for the antenna performance.
The vibrational characteristics of Multi-Phase Nanocomposite (MPC) reinforced annular/circular plate under initially stresses are presented using the state-space formulation based on three-dimensional elasticity theory (3D-elasticity theory) and Differential Quadrature Method (DQM). The MPC reinforced annular/circular plate is under initial lateral stress and composed of multilayers with Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) uniformly dispersed in each layer, but its properties change layer-by-layer along the thickness direction. The State-Space based Differential Quadrature Method (SS-DQM) is presented to examine the frequency behavior of the current structure. Halpin-Tsai equations and fiber micromechanics are used in the hierarchy to predict the bulk material properties of the multi-scale composite. A singular point is investigated for modeling the circular plate. The CNTs are supposed to be randomly oriented and uniformly distributed through the matrix of epoxy resin. Afterward, a parametric study is done to present the effects of various types of sandwich circular/annular plates on frequency characteristics of the MPC reinforced annular/circular plate using 3D-elasticity theory.

Vanadium oxide ($VO_x$) thin films are very good candidate material for uncooled infrared (IR) detectors due to their high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) at room temperature. But, the deposition of $VO_x$ thin films showing good electrical properties is very difficult in micro bolometer fabrication process using sacrificial layer removal because of its low process temperature and thickness of thin films less than $1000{\AA}$. This paper presents a new fabrication process of $VO_x$ thin films having high TCR and low resistance. Through sandwich structure of $VO_{x}(100{\AA})/V(80{\AA})/VO_{x}(500{\AA})$ by sputter method and post-annealing at oxygen ambient, we have achieved high TCR more than $-2%/^{\circ}C$ and low resistance less than $10K\Omega$ at room temperature.
Cupredoxin-like proteins are mainly copper-binding proteins that conserve a typical rigid Greek-key arrangement consisting of an eight-stranded β-sandwich, even though they share as little as 10-15% sequence similarity. The electron transport function of the Cupredoxins is critical for respiration and photosynthesis, and the proteins have therapeutic potential. Despite their crucial biological functions, the identification of the distant Cupredoxin homologs has been a difficult task due to their low sequence identity. In this study, the overlapped conserved residue (OCR) fingerprint for the Cupredoxin superfamily, which consists of conserved residues in three aspects (i.e., the sequence, structure, and intramolecular interaction), was used to detect the novel Cupredoxin homologs in the NCBI non-redundant protein sequence database. The OCR fingerprint could identify 54 potential Cupredoxin sequences, which were validated by scanning them against the conserved Cupredoxin motif near the Cu-binding site. This study also attempted to model the 3D structures and to predict the functions of the identified potential Cupredoxins. This study suggests that the OCR-based approach can be used efficiently to detect novel homologous proteins with low sequence identity, such as Cupredoxins.
Sn doped $In_2O_3$ (ITO) and ITO/Ni/ITO (INI) multilayer films were deposited on the glass substrates with a reactive magnetron sputtering system without intentional substrate heating and then the influence of the Ni interlayer on the methanol gas sensitivity of ITO and INI film sensors were investigated. Although both ITO and INI film sensors have the same thickness of 100 nm, INI sensors have a sandwich structure of ITO 50 nm/Ni 5 nm/ITO 45 nm. The changes in the gas sensitivity of the film sensors caused by methanol gas ranging from 100 to 1000 ppm were measured. It is observed that the INI film sensors show the higher sensitivity than that of the ITO single layer sensors. Finally, it can be concluded that the INI film sensor have the potential to be used as improved methanol gas sensors.
