The concectration and distribution of contaminants obtained from a contaminated land investigation or an environmental geochemistry survey constitutes the basis of a decision-making process on environmental policies or of scientific researches. As the quality of data determines the reliability of the result, the investigation plan should be adjusted according to the purpose of the investigation. In general, the effort to improve the data quality had been focused mainly on the QA/QC procedures in laboratories. The rapid progress of analytical instrument has also contributed toward improving the analytical precision to a sacrificable degree. Nevertheless, in many cases, it is not the analytical precision that needs improvement for the better precision of overall measurement process: it is rather during the sampling process in the field that is responsible for the poor precision. To assess the data quality on a measured value, ISO recommends to provide information on "measurement uncertainty" along with the measured value. The measurement uncertainty in an environmental measurement context can be explained as the statistical number that expresses the degree of the uncertainty stemming from the sampling and analytical procedures. There is a cost involved in order to improve the precision of sampling and analytical methods so as to decrease the degree of measurement uncertainty. The economical point of compromise in an investigation planning can be achieved when the allowable degree of uncertainty has been set before-hand. The investigation can then be planned accordingly not to exceed the uncertainty limit. Furthermore, if the measurement uncertainty estimated from the preliminary investigation can be separated into sampling and analytical uncertainties, it can be used as a criterion where the resources for the investigation should be allotted cost-effectively to reinforce the weakest link of the whole investigation process. This paper aims to present a method of estimating the level of measurement uncertainty of a measured contamination concentration at a site used as an example and to show how the estimated uncertainty can be applied to serve the particular purpose of an investigation.
Recently, some advanced statistical agencies have great concern on the quality of statistics which is defined in the context of being' fit for use'. In this paper, we present a concept for statistics quality control, elements of statistics quality, 8 procedures for sampling survey. We also suggest quality guidelines for sampling survey statistics.
In the previous work, the authors studied the problem of robust discretization of linear time-invariant systems with polytopic uncertainties, where linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions were developed to find an approximate discrete-time (DT) model of a continuous-time (CT) system with uncertainties in polytopic domain. The system matrices of obtained DT model preserved the polytopic structures of the original CT system. In this paper, we extend the previous approach to solve the problem of robust discretization of polytopic uncertain systems with aperiodic sampling. In contrast with the previous work, the sampling period is assumed to be unknown, time-varying, but contained within a known interval. The solution procedures are presented in terms of unidimensional optimizations subject to LMI constraints which are numerically tractable via LMI solvers. Finally, an example is given to show the validity of the proposed techniques.

The purpose of this study is to empirically grasp the relationship between website immersion and website attitude by the attribute factors of the Taekwondo information website and provide it as basic data for effective operation of the Taekwondo information website. The subjects of this study were Taekwondo athletes enrolled in high schools and universities affiliated with the Korean Taekwondo Association, and the sampling method was sampled using the convient sampling method, a non-probability sampling method. Of the 820 questionnaires finally obtained, 789 were processed using PASW Statistics 20.0 and AMOS, except for 31 that were deemed to have poor respondents' contents or were not valuable as data. For data analysis, the statistical analysis techniques used in this study were frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's α test, correlation analysis, and structural equation model analysis (SEM), and the significance level of the research hypothesis was α=.It was verified at 05. The following conclusions were drawn through such research methods and procedures. First, information, entertainment, structure, cognition, searchability, and connectivity of Taekwondo information website attributes affect website immersion. Second, website immersion is affecting website attitudes.
In this paper we apply the maximum principle to design of time optimal nonlinear sampled-data control systems. We introduce the general design procedures and the mathematical formalas for time optimal processes and trajectories. Then we show the application of the technique to determine the optimal control signal, control sequence, switching time and sampling period to the given 4th order process.
In this study, the major emission procedures and emission characteristics were identified at the site of sewage treatment plant which is one of the major sources of ammonia. At the same time the emission factors and emission rates were estimated. In order to calculate the emission flux, we used a Dynamic Flux Chamber(DFC), which is found to be a proper sampling devise for area sources such as sewage treatment plant. It was found that the most stable sampling condition was when the stirrer's speed of DFC was 120RPM, and it would be the best time to take a sample 60 minutes later after setting the chamber. The relatively higher flux was shown in Autumn compared to summer and winter. Annual ammonia emission rates procedures were calculated as $906.32{\mu}g/activity-ton$, $1,114.72{\mu}g/activity-ton$ and $437.53{\mu}g/activity-ton$ each at the primary settling basin, aeration basin and the final settling basin, respectively. The ammonia emission rate the highest at in the aeration basin according to this test. This results was due to that the surface of aeration basin or the final settling basin is relatively wider than the primary settling basin.
Traditional investigation procedures of soil and groundwater contamination are followed by soil gas sampling, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, establishment of monitoring wells, and groundwater monitoring. It often takes several weeks to obtain the analysis reports, and sometimes, it needs supplemental sampling and analysis to delineate the polluted area. Laser induced fluorescence (LIF) system is designed for the detection of free-phase petroleum pollutants, and it is suitable for on-site real-time site investigation when coupling with a direct push testing tool. Petroleum products always contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds possessing fluorescence characteristics that make them detectable through LIF detection. In this study, LIF spectroscopy of 5 major fuel products was conducted to establish the databank of LIF fluorescence characteristic spectra, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, marine fuel and low-sulfur fuel. Multivariate statistical tools were also applied to distinguish LIF fluorescence characteristic spectra among the mixtures of selected fuel products. This study successfully demonstrated the feasibility of identifying fuel species based on LIF characteristic fluorescence spectra, also LIF seemed to be uncovered its powerful ability of tracing underground petroleum leakages.
A two-dimensional pulsed doppler system for ultrasonic blood velocity doppler signals is studied and implemented. The second-order sampling method and serial data processing procedures are utillized in the sys- tem, which eliminates the untuning problems at phase channels in the quadrature detection method as well as in the channels of parallel data processing. rho digital signal processor used in this system allows a hardware savings and flexible design options. The efficiency of the various mean frequency estimators in the second-order sampling system is examined by computer simulation as a function of the intersequence sample delay time. The temporal delay for the quadrature component is changed from $1/(4f_o){\;}to{\;}3/(4f_o){\;}and{\;}5/(4f_o)$ where to is the center frequency of the transducer, It is found that autocorrelator is the optimum frequency estimator for the second-order sampling: with !he intersequence sample delay of $1/(4f_o){\;}to{\;}3/(4f_o){\;}and{\;}5/(4f_o)$. The qualitative variation and information proportional to blood velocity in the vessel system are obtained in the VIVO experiments.
Sampling based uncertainty analysis was carried out to quantify uncertainty in predictions of best estimate code RELAP5/MOD3.2 for a thermal hydraulic test (10% hot leg break LOCA) performed in the Large Scale Test Facility (LSTF) as a part of an IAEA coordinated research project. The nodalisation of the test facility was qualified for both steady state and transient level by systematically applying the procedures led by uncertainty methodology based on accuracy extrapolation (UMAE); uncertainty analysis was carried out using the Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) method to evaluate uncertainty for ten input parameters. Sixteen output parameters were selected for uncertainty evaluation and uncertainty band between $5^{th}$ and $95^{th}$ percentile of the output parameters were evaluated. It was observed that the uncertainty band for the primary pressure during two phase blowdown is larger than that of the remaining period. Similarly, a larger uncertainty band is observed relating to accumulator injection flow during reflood phase. Importance analysis was also carried out and standard rank regression coefficients were computed to quantify the effect of each individual input parameter on output parameters. It was observed that the break discharge coefficient is the most important uncertain parameter relating to the prediction of all the primary side parameters and that the steam generator (SG) relief pressure setting is the most important parameter in predicting the SG secondary pressure.

The goal of this study was to see how big data analytics (BDA) affected external audit procedures in the Middle East. The measurement model and structural model of this investigation were evaluated using PLS-SEM (3.3.3). The study sample members were (361) auditors who work in auditing companies in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iraq. A questionnaire was chosen to the study sample members electronically, and the study sample members were (5093) auditors who work in auditing companies in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iraq. To choose the sample, the researchers used a stratified random sampling procedure. The findings show that BDA has an impact on audit procedures at all phases of the auditing process, where it contributes to information delivery that helps auditors understand the client's internal and external environments, which in turn influences the choice to accept the audit assignment. Furthermore, by providing essential information, BDA enables auditors to simply run analytical procedures, estimate client risks, and understand and evaluate the internal control system. As a result, auditors must develop their abilities in the BDA field, as it adds to the creation of additional value for both auditors and their clients.
