The Relationship between Autonomous Extrinsic Motivation of Salespeople and Work Performance: An Empirical Study from Vietnam

  • This study explores the direct relationship between challenge and hindrance demands affecting autonomous extrinsic motivation and sales performance. In addition, we examine the mediating role of autonomous extrinsic motivation in the relationship between challenge demands, hindrance demands, and sales performance. This study explores the direct relationship between challenge and hindrance demands affecting autonomous extrinsic motivation and sales performance. In addition, we examine the mediating role of autonomous extrinsic motivation in the relationship between challenge demands, hindrance demands, and sales performance. This study proceeded in two phases comprising preliminary and prime research. First, preliminary quantitative research was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 125 observations to analyze the reliability of the scale and exploratory factor analysis to evaluate the measurements. The data collected from 431 real estate market employees shows that both challenge and hindrance demands positively and negatively affect sales performance through autonomous extrinsic motivation. Furthermore, challenge demands and hindrance demands affect positive and negative sales performance through autonomous extrinsic motivation, respectively. This study suggests that business organizations should design job demands to ensure that challenging work is suitable for employees' job positions. Thus, they will contribute to motivation and help employees achieve job performance.

  • With society becoming more advanced and complex, the required management engineering makes essential the development of human resources that can propose solutions for problems of new phenomena from a different perspective. As an example of such phenomena, we note a consumer electronics 'Eco-point' system campaign in this study. To mitigate global warming, revitalize the economy, and encourage the adoption of terrestrial digital compatible TVs, the consumer electronics Eco-point system campaign was implemented in May 2009 in Japan. In this study, we note a model which is constant term with exponential curve with notion of the growth phenomenon (Nakagiri and Kurita, Journal of the Operations Research Society of Japan, 2002). In our study, we call this model the 'differential equation model of the growth phenomenon.' This model represents a phenomenon with a hierarchical structure for capturing the properties of n species. In this study, we propose a new model which can represent not only the impact of largescale campaigns but also seasonal factors. Accordingly, we understand the phenomenon of fluctuation of sales of some products caused by large-scale campaigns and predict the fluctuation of sales. The final goal of this study is to develop human resources that can propose provision and solution for pre-consumption and reactionary decline in demand by understanding the impact of large-scale campaigns. As the first step of this goal, our objective is to propose a new regression method with different conventional perspective that can describe the fluctuation of sales caused by large-scale campaigns and show the possibility of new management engineering education.

  • POS(Point Of Sales) 시스템이란 매장에서 발생하는 판매시점의 모든 정보를 실시간으로 수집, 처리하여 각 부문별 정보를 종합, 분석, 평가할 수 있는 S/W와 H/W를 의미한다. 그러나 기존의 POS 시스템들은 대형 매장이나 할인점들을 대상으로 하여 고가의 전용 장비들을 이용하고 있어, 음식판매 전문매장에서 이를 도입해 사용하기에는 비용이나 규모 면에서 적합하지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 별도의 전용 장비나 망을 구성하지 않고 PC와 PDA로 구성된 무선 인터넷 환경을 이용하여, 음식판매 전문매장에서도 사용할 수 있도록 하는 웹 기반의 POS시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

판매 및 유통업 종사 여성의 직무스트레스와 관련요인 분석 (Analysis on Female Workers' Job Stress in Sales and Retail Industries)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to measure job stress and to explore risk factors of female workers in the retail and sales industries in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. Methods: A total of 321 participants responded to a self-administered questionnaire that included 24 items of the KOSS(Korean Occupational Stress Scale) and sociodemographic characteristics. The 240 questionnaires were collected from January to March 2007 and analyzed. Results: The mean scores of female workers' job stress in the retail and sales industries ranged in Q50~74 compared with the average scores of female Koreans. The level of job insecurity was significantly high, and ranged in Q75~. However, the level of insufficient job control ranged in Q~24. Multiple regression analysis was used to explain the risk factors of female workers: monthly salary and insufficient sleep were of statistical significance. Conclusion: High level of job stress suggested that appropriate stress management programs be implemented for female workers in the retail and sales industries.

변형확률모델을 활용한 소매업의 상권분석 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Trade Area Analysis with the Use of Modified Probability Model)

  • Purpose - This study aims to develop correspondence strategies to the environment change in domestic retail store types. Recently, new types of retails have emerged in retail industries. Therefore, trade area platform has developed focusing on the speed of data, no longer trade area from district border. Besides, 'trade area smart' brings about change in retail types with the development of giga internet. Thus, context shopping is changing the way of consumers' purchase pattern through data capture, technology capability, and algorithm development. For these reasons, the sales estimation model has been shown to be flawed using the notion of former scale and time, and it is necessary to construct a new model. Research design, data, and methodology - This study focuses on measuring retail change in large multi-shopping mall for the outlook for retail industry and competition for trade area with the theoretical background understanding of retail store types and overall domestic retail conditions. The competition among retail store types are strong, whereas the borders among them are fading. There is a greater need to analyze on a new model because sales expectation can be hard to get with business area competition. For comprehensive research, therefore, the research method based on the statistical analysis was excluded, and field survey and literature investigation method were used to identify problems and propose an alternative. In research material, research fidelity has improved with complementing research data related with retail specialists' as well as department stores. Results - This study analyzed trade area survival and its pattern through sales estimation and empirical studies on trade areas. The sales estimation, based on Huff model system, counts the number of households shopping absorption expectation from trade areas. Based on the results, this paper estimated sales scale, and then deducted modified probability model. Conclusions - In times of retail store chain destruction and off-line store reorganization, modified Huff model has problems in estimating sales. Transformation probability model, supplemented by the existing problems, was analyzed to be more effective in competitiveness business condition. This study offers a viable alternative to figure out related trade areas' sale estimation by reconstructing new-modified probability model. As a result, the future task is to enlarge the borders from IT infrastructure with data and evidence based business into DT infrastructure.

공간 연관규칙을 이용한 대형할인점의 입지 분석 (Analyzing the Location Decision of the Large-Scale Discount Store Using the Spatial Association Rules Mining)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1990년대부터 급속히 증가한 대형할인점에 대하여 입지영향인자를 추출하여 의사결정에 객관성을 확보하고 대량의 데이터베이스를 이용하여 숨겨진 유용한 정보를 입지 선정에 활용하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대형할인점이 입점하는데 미치는 인구학적 변수, 경제학적 변수 그리고 주변환경적 변수에 대한 다양한 인자를 통계자료를 수집하고 연구대상 지역의 공간 자료를 구축하여 공간 연관성 분석을 실시하여 공간 연관규칙을 추출하였다. 결과의 검증을 위해 추출된 규칙과 대형할인점의 매출액을 이용한 적용성 여부를 상호 비교하였다. 검증 결과 추출된 공간 연관규칙이 해당 대형할인점에 많이 부합할수록 매출액도 많은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 공간 연관규칙을 활용하여 객관적이고 매출에 이익을 주는 대형할인점의 최적입지 선정을 기대할 수 있다.

소매업 경영에서 본 수도권 지역과 대구권 지역의 비교 (Comparative Study of the Business Organization of Retailing in the Seoul and Taegu Metropolitan Areas)

  • 우리나라에서 인구규모 이상으로 소매 구매력이 가장 큰 수도권 지역과 3대 도시권으로 구매력이 인구규모보다 작은 대구권 지역의 소매업 경영을 공간적으로 비교한 결과 다음과 같은 점이 밝혀졌다 첫째, 수도권 지역은 소매업의 경영규모가 크고 쇼핑재화 소매업의 구성비가 높은데 비하여, 대구권 지역은 편의재화 소매업의 구성비가 높은 것이 특징이다. 둘째, 대구권 지역은 수도권 지역보다 소매업 중심지구가 미발달되었고, 법인업체의 비율은 높으나 상용 종사자의 비율과 사업체당 연간 판매액의 비율이 낮아 소매업 경영상의 지역적 차이점을 나타내고 있다. 셋째, 수도권 지역의 중심지구는 대구권 지역의 중심지구에 비하여 편의제화와 일부 쇼핑재화를 취급하는 소매업 법인조직이 발달하였으나, 대구권 지역의 경우는 $\ulcorner$섬유, 의복, 신발 및 의복 악세사리 소매업$\lrcorner$의 법인조직과 $\ulcorner$가정용 연료 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용이 발달하였다. 그리고 수도권 지역은 $\ulcorner$가정용 연료 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용이, 대구권 지역은 $\ulcorner$개인 운수장비 소매업 및 주유소 운영업$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$약, 화장품 및 화공약품 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용과 $\ulcorner$음식료품 및 담배소매업$\lrcorner$의 개인경영의 발달 유무가 소매업 경영의 지역구조를 결정짓는다.

산업 특성이 해외시장 진출 방식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Industry Characteristics on the Mode of Entering Foreign Markets)

  • 본 연구는 2009~2015 기간의 19개 제조업 패널 자료를 사용해 산업 특성이 한국 기업의 해외시장 진출 방식에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 산업 수준에서 수출과 현지법인 매출 간의 비중을 계산해 종속변수로 사용했고, 산업 내 기업 이질성 변수를 통해 생산성 효과를, 기업체 및 사업체 수준의 규모의 경제 변수를 통해 비용 효과를 검증했다. 다양한 대용치를 사용한 대부분의 추정 모형에서 기업 이질성이 클수록, 사업체 수준 규모의 경제가 작을수록, 기업체 전반의 규모의 경제가 클수록 해외 총매출 대비 수출 비중이 감소했다. 이는 생산성이 높을수록, 사업 집중에 따른 효율보다는 기업 전반에 적용되는 고유 자산이 클수록 수출보다 현지 생산이 선호된다는 이론적 예측과 부합한다. 이 결과는 한국의 해외직접투자에서 시장 접근 동기가 중요해졌다는 점과 그 과정에서 산업 특성이 통계적으로 의미 있는 역할을 할 수 있음을 보여준다.

체질의료서비스시장의 현황파악을 위한 조사연구 (Study on the Present Status of Constitutional Medical Care Market)

  • The objectives of this study were to examine the present state of Oriental clinical service based on Constitutional medicine and to make an accurate estimate of it's scale in 2015. The data for this study were collected from a questionnaire survey to 335 Traditional Korean Medical doctors who were selected as random samples. And this questionnaire is consist of several inquiries related with management and application of constitutional medicine. The 38.8% facilities of all Oriental medical centers and Clinics in the whole country are applying Constitutional medicine for treating patients. The 8,870 persons in all health workers are engaged in Constitutional clinical service. The proportion of sales by Constitutional clinical services to the total sales by Traditional clinical service is 26.6% in 2007. The proportion of application to medical care insurance by Constitutional clinical service is 21.6% of all amounts. After taking these results into consideration, the sales of Constitutional clinical service now are estimated to make up 26.6% percent of the total traditional medical service and the amount of it's sales in 2015 is expected to increase up to 2.8 times as much as the current quantity.
