  • Today's consumers have the behavior of purchasing that is self-value-centered and distinctly goal-conscious. Because of this trend the new shops that sell well have the characteristics that effectely transfers strong store-image. The starting point of selling is showing. To appeal to the sense of more consumers and to facilitate the act of consumption you should express more surely store and image of merchandise in the limited space of sales room. Especially in the compound living goods store which sell various items of products the role of presenting the whole merchandises attractive and organized is of utmost importance and the interior planning of show rooms and displaying the room according to the actual sales. According to this the goal of this study is to create not only the convenience of purchasing but also distinguished store image through organizing show rooms according to themes as a part of VMD strategy.

도서지역 어촌의 조건불리성 분석: 농림어업총조사 자료를 이용하여 (An Analysis on the Less Favored Condition of Fishing Village in Korean Island Regions using Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries)

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the status and trend of less favored condition of fishing village in Korean island regions using the census of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. The less favored condition was measured as the difference in accessibility to major services and in fishery sales and resident infrastructure, applying the difference-in-difference method and propensity score matching method respectively. The result shows that access to major services has improved in island area between 2010 and 2015, implying that related policies such as the island comprehensive development project have been successful to some extent. However, some educational facilities, cultural facilities, and health facilities still have low inaccessibility and fishery sales are also significantly lower than in general area. This suggests that it is necessary to maintain related policies like the direct payment of fisheries.

  • Show window display is a technique of arranging goods for sales promotion, namely, motivating and inducing customers to purchase products. It is not simply exhibiting articles but a technical expression of values retained in exhibited articles and an integrated visual art comprehending color, lighting effect, the customers' angle of vision, differentiation from neighboring stores, harmony with properties, assistive roles of relevant goods, and entire messages provided by these elements. Show window display plays the role of a medium that expresses brand images and attracts consumers. Through the medium, the company's brand image is recognized and the recognition determines the trend of brand sales. Brand images planted to consumers seldom change, and wrong recognition affects not only the brand image but also the company image. The present study purposed to suggest show window display employing brand images different from traditional show window display, to examine the effects of brand images on consumers' intention to purchase, and to propose display design.

국내 위탁급식전문업체 재무건전성 추세 분석 - 1999년부터 2011년 재무제표를 중심으로 - (Trend analysis on the financial soundness of contract foodservice management companies(CFMC) : approach to the financial statements from 1999 to 2011)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the financial statements and analyze the financial soundness of contract foodservice management companies(CFMC) using the financial ratio. The statistical data analysis was completed using Microsoft Excel(ver.2007) for the trend line equation and using SPSS Win(ver.18.0) for wilcoxon-rank sum test. Increased asset, debt, capital and sales occurred in most of the CFMCs, but the financial trend of firm D decreased for operating profit and net profit. The financial ratio for investigating a firm's financial soundness was based on liquidity, stability, profitability, activity, and growth through financial statements. Most of the CFMCs had maintained outstanding financial soundness from 1999 to 2011. The financial statements during the decade were verified and fluctuated. The directly affected CFMCs by a school foodservice' sanitation accident had maintained better financial statements than those of other CFMCs. Therefore, there was opportunity for directly affecting CFMCs involved in school foodservice' sanitation accident to diversify the business portfolio of the firms.

A Hybrid Method to Improve Forecasting Accuracy Utilizing Genetic Algorithm: An Application to the Data of Processed Cooked Rice

  • In industries, shipping is an important issue in improving the forecasting accuracy of sales. This paper introduces a hybrid method and plural methods are compared. Focusing the equation of exponential smoothing method (ESM) that is equivalent to (1, 1) order autoregressive-moving-average (ARMA) model equation, a new method of estimating the smoothing constant in ESM had been proposed previously by us which satisfies minimum variance of forecasting error. Generally, the smoothing constant is selected arbitrarily. However, this paper utilizes the above stated theoretical solution. Firstly, we make estimation of ARMA model parameter and then estimate the smoothing constant. Thus, theoretical solution is derived in a simple way and it may be utilized in various fields. Furthermore, combining the trend removing method with this method, we aim to improve forecasting accuracy. This method is executed in the following method. Trend removing by the combination of linear and 2nd order nonlinear function and 3rd order nonlinear function is executed to the original production data of two kinds of bread. Genetic algorithm is utilized to search the optimal weight for the weighting parameters of linear and nonlinear function. For comparison, the monthly trend is removed after that. Theoretical solution of smoothing constant of ESM is calculated for both of the monthly trend removing data and the non-monthly trend removing data. Then forecasting is executed on these data. The new method shows that it is useful for the time series that has various trend characteristics and has rather strong seasonal trend. The effectiveness of this method should be examined in various cases.

Trends in Obesity Prevalence by Occupation Based on Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey From 1998 to 2015

  • Background: It is well known that the prevalence of obesity in Korea is increasing over time, however it is not known how the trends among occupational groups and sex differ in such increasing trends. This study was designed to provide recent trends of obesity among workers in Korea and to identify whether there were differences among occupational groups. Methods: We used data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, Phases I to VI (19982015), to analyze trends in the prevalence of obesity in adult Korean workers. Obesity was defined as a body mass index of 25 kg/㎡ or higher. Occupations were classified into 3 groups: (a) nonmanual workers, (b) service/sales workers, and (c) manual workers. Results: During the period of the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey Phases I to VI, the prevalence of obesity in male workers increased in all occupations (31.1% to 39.5% in manual workers, 32.3% to 38.2% in service/sales workers, and 25.3% to 39.7% in manual workers). However, female workers did not show any particular tendency toward obesity, except for a significant decrease in the prevalence rate in service/sales workers (30.8% to 23.9%, p for trend = 0.0048). Conclusion: The trends of obesity prevalence by sex and occupation were different. For male manual workers, the prevalence rate increased steadily during the data period, while it decreased steadily in female sales/service workers.

  • 외국인 관광객의 편의를 제공하기 위하여 개발 판매되었던 M-pass(왹국인 전용카드)의 이용률은 최근5년간 서울방문객의 0.051 %에 불과 하였다. 이렇게 저조한 판매마저도 코로나 19로 인하여 2020년 경우 0.024 % 수준으로 하락하였다. 성과부진의 원인은 국토부와 카드발행사가 교통운영기관을 배제하고 추진하였고 홍보부진과 가격결정의 불합리성, 소수의 판매장소 한정 등이 문제점으로 나타났다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 Digital Matketing 체계의 구축과 함께 모든 관련기관의 참여와 의견이 반영된 새로운 상품 개발 등의 경영전략이 필요한 것으로 연구결과 나타났다. 본 연구로 포스트코로나 시대 외국인 서울관광객의 편의 제공 뿐만아니라 지하철 운영기관의 경영개선에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대 한다.

  • Contemporary culture of consumption has been transferred from physical satisfaction in the past to the "pleasure" culture of consumption that satisfies emotional needs, generating a new design category - emotional design. The current study analyzes various environmental design techniques of the theme parks, which recognized early the importance of the "pleasure" culture of consumption and used the techniques for sales and as profit-making tools. This study also examines a trend of emotional design in environmental design techniques of the theme park and proves that the design techniques can be applied to a variety of interior design areas, as well as commercial facilities.mmercial facilities.

  • The industry of LCD monitor and LCD/TV production is complicate, so there are several OEM/ODM companies concentrated on technical and professional skills. Brand name company establishes its own brand name, sells its own product, and reflects market request. Therefore, the main duty of brand name company is on sales and marketing. This article explains the operating flow on LCD monitor and LCD/TV industry, operating relationship between brand name company and OEM/ODM, and advantage and disadvantage on different points. Furthermore, future trend of LCD monitor and LCD/TV can be reviewed in the article.

  • The existing inventory managements bear a relation to forecasting or assumptions. So these methods become more complicated and more expensive systems as time goes. This paper developed a practical inventory system which is called DCC(demand control chart). DCC does not 'forecast' but 'control' the trend of demand without assumptions. According to the trend of sales, DCC adjusts an order quantity considering the capacity of shelf in a store. Specially, DCC is a useful method under FRID system. Besides, this paper introduces EPFR(Every Period Full Replenishment) policy for reducing stocks.
