  • This paper compares the realities of the salary Peak Policy's status and management processes in Korea and Japan, with the aim of determining the development direction for Korea's salary Peak Policy's. Unlike Japan, which successfully achieved close cooperation between government, firms and workers in implementing the Retirement Age Extension Type salary Peak Policy, Korea experienced many problems due to lack of preparation. In order to rationally develop the salary Peak Policy, the government, firms, and workers must cooperate to increase the policy's efficiency via the following steps. First, gradually increase the proportion of retirement age extension. Second, career development that takes into account the various employment types, flexible working hours and aged workers. Third, development of training programs for senior citizen workers, as well as increasing support for changing of jobs and startups. Fourth, expansion of re-employment after retirement age and ways to make use of the skilled labor. Fifth, increasing work efficiency through bonuses and work evaluation that is specialized for aged workers. This paper argues that such measures are necessary for the co-existence of firms and workers, as well as for improving employment stability and labor market flexibility.

  • In this paper, samples are collected for individual companies and the factors affecting worker wages (average annual salary) are analyzed in depth. In addition to the average annual salary of workers in a company, we would like to conduct an in-depth analysis of the average annual salary of first-time employees. Specifically, we tried to explain the size of companies, the production structure of capital and labor, and the impact of business on the average annual salary of first-time, college, and graduate school graduates by educational background of first-time employees. The difference in average annual salary of first-time employees of logistics companies is a decisive factor in the main project on sales, and first-time graduates and college graduates provided high salaries in the overseas passenger cargo transportation, port operation, and unloading management, and low salaries in the land cargo and warehouse industries. n addition, Korean logistics companies had relationships between the location of the headquarters, the number of employees, the proportion of labor costs to sales, and the four characteristic factors of the main business on sales. This fact is that Seoul-based foreign passenger cargo transportation, corporate logistics agency, complex transportation, and international transportation relay are large companies, with a low proportion of labor costs and a higher proportion of capital, technology, and information-intensive investments.

Subjects for this study were in between twenties and sixties by applying convenient random sampling method, which was done in January to February, 2001. The results were as follows: 1. General foot shape of subjects was that foot breadth was wide whereas instep height was average. In regards to the metamorphic parts of foot, the most metamorphic part was the fifth toe which could be occurred by disagreeable shoes to foot. 2. General salary men (69.5%) wear the formal shoes and their wearing time per day is over 10 hours (49%), which illustrates that more suitable and convenient functional shoes needs to be developed. 3. Almost of subjects tended to purchase ready-made shoes, and their concerns to be considered when to purchase ready-made shoes were its size and solidity. This finding suggests that the size specification of the ready-made shoes needs to be more specific in terms of its length as well as foot breadth. 4. The most unsatisfied point on the ready-made shoes was the foot breadth. According to the Crosstabulation analysis on the discomfort part and the foot breadth, there existed a significant correlation between the discomfort part and the foot breadth (p$\leq$0.05). The above results make clear that overall salary men have complaints on the ready-made formal shoes in terms of its size and wearing comfort level. It is based on the sabermetrics, which measures the performance of baseball batters in a refined way. We collect the records of batters of eight professional baseball clubs during the season 2009 and 2010. Then, we calculate every index of the sabermetrics. Principal component analysis is used for examining the relationship between those indexes of sabermetrics and annual salary for the next year. In general, batters who show higher performance get more salary. The result of this research can be useful in order to reach an agreement on salary between a player and his club partner.

  • Backgrounds: Proper distribution and supply of physicians are factors that affect national health care systems. This study investigated the payment distribution levels and the determinants that influence the salary levels of hospital hired physicians. Methods: We analyzed 4,014 job advertisements posted on an internet invitation information site about physician recruitment from May 2016 to May 2019. We used univariate analysis to determine the relationship between average monthly salary and the other related variables. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the predictors of physician salary level. Results: The average monthly salary for the service physician was 15.4 million won, highest for orthopedic surgeons with 22.24 million won, and lowest for diagnostic laboratory physician with 11.4 million won. The factors significantly associated with average monthly salary were; non-major specialty, housing provision, no severance pay, and incentives(p<0.05). Non-major specialty, incentives, and the regions were predictors of the average standardized monthly salary(p<0.05). Conclusion: Factors associated with average monthly salary as revealed by this study were; medical specialty, hospital regional location, housing provision, payment of retirement allowance, and payment of other incentives respectively. However, this study was a cross-sectional study, and further studies will be required.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and job stress of clinical nurses in small to medium-sized hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 152 nurses working in 4 local public hospitals in one district. EI was measured with the scale developed by Law, Wong, & Song (2004), and job stress with the scale by Choi, Kang, & Woo (2006). Data were analyzed with PASW (SPSS) 18.0, using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: There were significant differences in EI according to work time, in self-emotional appraisal according to salary, in regulation of emotion according to marital status, age, work time, and salary. There were also significant differences in job stress including somatization, depression and anger according to marital status, work time, and salary. Correlation between EI and job stress was negative. EI explained 17.3% of variance in job stress. Conclusion: The findings indicate that to decrease job stress, nursing managers need to develop EI, especially self-emotional appraisal and regulation of emotion for nurses in their twenties and for unmarried nurses.
