Purpose: It is necessary to prepare more groundbreaking measures to prevent recurrence in order to reduce the number of industrial accidents in Korea that occur steadily. In particular, since workers with disabilities are much more vulnerable to disaster safety than non-disabled workers, there is a great need to build a customized safety environment system suitable for the characteristics of the work in which workers with disabilities work and to promote management efficiency. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the analysis of the actual status of safety and health management of workplaces for the disabled, such as small, medium-sized and major businesses in Korea, an app was designed and developed to improve safety and health management efficiency of workplaces for the disabled. First, it was designed so that managers of workplaces with disabilities can understand at a glance key legal information that managers need to know and it was improved to suit the eye level of disabled workers so that they could self-evaluate the risk of their work by applying the risk assessment model for workplaces with disabilities. In addition, a mobile education environment was created in which safety and health education contents suitable for the characteristics of disabled workers can be learned by themselves. Results: When this app is applied to domestic workplaces, it is possible to check the exact contents of occupational safety and health education and easily search and check various legal information anytime, anywhere, allowing managers and disabled workers to quickly and efficiently manage various safety information. Conclusions: In addition, the establishment of a mobile safety and health management system that can quickly identify and clearly respond to various legal standards and risks of workplaces with disabilities can be expected to help prevent industrial accidents at workplaces with disabilities in Korea.

The international community has done a lot of effort to improve the aviation safety. The new high technologies, systems and development of navigation equipments considerably improved the level of aviation safety. However, the aviation accident rate has been showing unchanged status without the decline since 1980. It means it is difficult to secure enough safety by the existing efforts to improve the aviation safety, eventually needs new methods for the accident prevention. With this in mind, the nations interest new methods that can consider a countermeasure by realizing potential risk factors before fatal accidents. In other words, that is to analyze and share the safety information collected from accidents by establishing aviation safety information system. To establish international aviation safety information system, each country's aviation accident incident reporting systems are need to be established. Also aviation safety data taxonomy is need to be standardized. Then, aviation users will communicate the information efficiently. This study investigates and considers each country's aviation accident incident database taxonomy for the analysis of the aviation data and the necessary prevention activity. This will contribute to a better international aviation safety and strengthen the country's aviation diplomacy.

Various technologies, systems, and legal systems are applied to prevent and quickly respond to fire disaster; nevertheless, the damages to life and property caused by fires are not reduced every year. For managing fire disaster, generating spatial information-based safety status map and procuring suitability of attribute information for each position information are essential. The safety status map is generated by deriving the fire safety status assessment factors, indexing, and locating the surveying results through various methods. In this paper, we deal with derivation of building fire safety assessment factors for 3D safety status map. At first, we survey the foreign and domestic fire assessment model cases and its factors, and analyze the applicability of Korean 3D fire safety status map. Next, assessment factors for fire safety assessment model are derived. Assessment factors are derived and categorized by their information collecting activity; factors that can be accessed through basic building information and factors that can be accessed through field survey. As a derivation result, 14 assessment factors were derived over five categories(Industry Risk, Structural Risk, Fire Fighting Facility, Fire Dangerousness, Fire Response Status).

The study of information fusion technology, which merges various types of data to recognize a situation more exactly, has begun in the area of national defense. Recently, the concept of information fusion is getting applied to other fields, and we are interested in maritime safety. In navigation, officers receive data about inside and outside of ship from several devices in bridge, and use it to recognize and predict the safety situation. However, too much and fast updated data might even fatigue mates, and there is the problem of inconsistency among data from several types of devices. This paper introduce how can use information fusion technology for the situation awareness and prediction of navigation safety, and show the realization possibility of Intelligent Navigation Safety Information System through an information fusion example in a specific situation scenario.

In this study, medical devices safety information reporting system was designed to manage medical devices for the efficient management of in-hospital adverse events. The current management of medical device adverse event reporting regulations and the legal status of the system and procedures for identifying the system were reviewed. MSF/CD(Microsoft Solution Framework/Component Design) was applied to the system design. Through this study, we can understand medical devices management including the notice provisions of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for medical devices safety information reporting. We also expect this study will help to improve patient safety and the effective management of medical equipment, and contribute to activating medical devices safety information reporting.

This study was conducted to investigate housewives' purchase behavior and needs for information on food safety. The data were collected from 275 housewives over the age of 20 living in Seoul and metropolitan areas from March 9 to April 3 in 2009. The result of this study showed that 'checking expiration date' topped with 4.59 in the purchase behavior for food safety followed by 'buying domestics' (4.08) and 'considering food safety' (3.66). The study also showed that only 18.5% of the respondents said that they have an experience of education for food safety, and 'environmental hormones' was the highest with 89.1% in the percentage of correct answer but 'mad cow disease' was the lowest with 25.8%. Also total degree of knowledge for food hazards was an average of 8.56 out of 13. The respondents' degree of information search for food safety was generally low at 2.61 and tv/radio topped the list of information sources with 4.04, followed by newspaper/magazine (3.80), internet (3.44), and family/relatives/friends (3.39). Finally, degree of information needs for food safety was generally high with 3.82. Therefore, government, producers, distributers and academic researchers must provide consumers collective and sufficient information about the food safety and hazards through the diverse information sources. Also they have to play their respective roles in developing and executing feasible education program for consumers.

The continuous development of in-vehicle information systems in recent years has dramatically enriched drivers' driving experience while occupying their cognitive resources to varying degrees, causing driving distraction. Under this complex information system, managing the complexity and priority of information and further improvement in driving safety has become a key issue that needs to be urgently solved by the in-vehicle information system. The new interactive methods incorporating the augmented reality (AR) and head-up display (HUD) technologies into in-vehicle information systems are currently receiving widespread attention. This superimposes various onboard information into an actual driving scene, thereby meeting the needs of complex tasks and improving driving safety. Based on the qualitative research methods of surveys and telephone interviews, this study collects the information needs of the target user groups (i.e., beginners and skilled drivers) and constructs a three-mode information database to provide the basis for a customized AR-HUD interface design.

In this paper the USN technique based on the disaster prevention communication technology service and its requirement technology and application are studied.

This study was conducted to investigate the consumers' recognition and information need for food safety, especially focused on pesticide residues, foodborne illness, and food additives. The data were collected from 350 adults living in Taegu and Pusan by the self-administered questionnaire. Frequencies and chi-square tests were conducted by SPSS. The results of the survey were as follows: (1) the consumers' concerns about food safety were high, (2) many respondents worried about eating vegetables, fruits and grains in turn because of pesticide residues, and did not trust the results from food-safety tests, (3) the major factor for foodborne illness was regarded as unfreshed or contaminated food stuffs, (4) many consumers concerned highly about preservatives among food additives, and tried to consume food containing less food additives, and (5) many respondents wanted to get the information about harmfulness of pesticide residues in foods, method to choose fresh food, and safety of food additives.
