  • This paper reviews differences between the traditional investment evaluation methods and real option approaches. This study considers management flexibility, contingency and volatility from a strategic management perspective. The roles of various real option approaches are discussed.

'연구실 안전' 관련 정부연구개발사업 동향 분석 (Status of Government Funded Projects for "Laboratory Safety")

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the trends of government R&D (R&D) projects related to laboratory safety over the past 20 years. Methods: We collected publications from various databases(DBs) with words such as laboratory(ies), lab(s), researcher(s), laboratory worker(s), safety, environment, hazard(s), risk(s), and so on. Selected publications were analyzed by the research funds and the number of projects according to the investment subject and research characteristics. Results: About 93% of the total R&D budget went to government policy projects, not scientific research. Second, from the perspective of 'safety management activities', most of the research is related to management and inspection at the organizational level. Issues that need to be discussed at the national level like policy governance are not included. Third, focusing on the 'safety management cycle', there were few studies related to 'prediction' or 'post-response'. Fourth, when an analysis framework combining the perspectives of 'safety management activities' and 'safety management cycle' is applied, most of the budget is spent on infrastructure such as digital management systems, whereas basic knowledge for prevention and production of evidence was very few. Conclusions: In order to prevent policy planning without policy evaluation, implementation without strategy, and evaluation without evidence, it is necessary to expand investment in empirical research on risks, research on the effectiveness of current application methods, and research on theory development. The government budget for laboratory safety-related projects should be managed separately from the R&D budget for scientific research. Although less than 5% of the budget allocated to scientific research is the total budget, an optical illusion occurs because both the project budget and the scientific research budget are counted as R&D budgets.

  • The basis of cyber trading has been sufficiently developed with innovative advancement of Internet Technology and the tendency of stock market investment has changed from long-term investment, which estimates the value of enterprises, to short-term investment, which focuses on getting short-term stock trading margin. Hence, this research shows a Short-term Stock Price Forecasting System on Learning Agent System using DTA(Decision Tree Algorithm) ; it collects real-time information of interest and favorite issues using Agent Technology through the Internet, and forms a decision tree, and creates a Rule-Base Database. Through this procedure the Short-term Stock Price Forecasting System provides customers with the prediction of the fluctuation of stock prices for each issue in near future and a point of sales and purchases. A Human being has the limitation of analytic ability and so through taking a look into and analyzing the fluctuation of stock prices, the Agent enables man to trace out the external factors of fluctuation of stock market on real-time. Therefore, we can check out the ups and downs of several issues at the same time and figure out the relationship and interrelation among many issues using the Agent. The SPFA (Stock Price Forecasting System) has such basic four phases as Data Collection, Data Processing, Learning, and Forecasting and Feedback.

  • In this paper, due to the instability of the domestic market, global competition is intensifying in the current situation of global capacity building of SMEs for the purpose of developing a diagnostic indicator placed on the purpose. In this model, the results of applying several companies overall global innovation pilot enterprises and non-rated global innovative companies awarded significant difference between the score and the ability to believe the show. Non-global innovation companies, the relative firm size factor and R&D investment and patent number of factors are lacking appeared shone This is a common small business nature of the majority of companies small and R&D investment, the absolute amount is insufficient to reflect that, but the global innovator in the case of firm size and the relatively large amount of investment that never shows.

The Development Progress of Korean Aviation Industry and its Investment Strategy Based on the Evidence and the 4th Industrial Revolution

  • This study examines the history of Korean aviation industry and presents the investment strategy based on the evidence and the 4th industrial revolution. Looking at the evolution of the Korean aviation industry and its technological development will be a great help to support industrial and technological innovation in the future. The modern aviation industry is divided into stages of development, focusing on maintenance of equipment introduced in advanced countries, localization through license assembly, production of products based on technology, and international joint development. The development of aeronautics technology has been progressing towards a general improvement of economic efficiency, aircraft safety efficiency through environmental-friendliness, unmanned operation, and downsizing. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has secured key technologies through development of several aircrafts such as Experimental Aircraft Kachi, EXPO Unmanned Airship, Twin-engine Composite Aircraft, Canard Aircraft, Multi-Purpose Stratosphere unmanned-airship, Medium Aerostats, Smart UAV, Surion, EAV-2H, KC-100, and OPV. The development strategy is discussed at the level of the evidence-based investment strategy that is currently being discussed, and so the investment priorities in aircraft is high. Current drone usage and development direction are not only producing parts using 3D printer, but also autonomous flight, communication (IoT, 5G), information processing (big data, machine learning). Therefore, the aviation industry is expected to lead the fourth industrial revolution.

The Effect of Foreign Direct Investment Inflow on Exports: Evidence from Vietnam

  • Foreign direct investment (FDI) and export are now often regarded as two of the most important drivers of economic growth on a worldwide scale. The impact of foreign direct investment on Vietnam's exports is investigated in this study. The data for the time period 1985-2020 was obtained from the World Bank and the Vietnam General Statistics Office. The years 1985 to 2020 were chosen to evaluate the evolution of macroeconomic parameters since 1986. The impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on renovation reform. The Johansen co-integration test proved that FDI and domestic investment (DI) had a long-term positive impact on Vietnam's export growth. The Granger causality test revealed that there is a one-way relationship between FDI and export in the near term, but no such relationship exists between DI and export. The result of the variance decomposition study demonstrates that the FDI sector has a bigger impact on Vietnam's export growth than the DI sector. Furthermore, export activities are vulnerable to FDI sector shocks. As a result, in recent years, FDI has been regarded as the most important factor of export growth in Vietnam.

  • This paper considers the determination of the priority of investment on R&D planning on nuclear power technology using AHP. Due to the complexity of problem, the hierarchy was divided into two parts; main hierarchy and sub-hierarchies. The result shows that the priority of technology options of evolutionary reactor and safety evaluation was higher than that of others.

A Cost-Benefit Estimate for MARSA

  • This paper proposes that the Marine Search & Rescue and Salvage Association of Korea (MARSA) can provide KCG a very positive return on investment; that is, MARSA will save lives and property well over the budget needed from KCG to operate MARSA. To perform this Cost-Benefit Analysis, actual performance data and other figures are taken from the USCG Auxiliary, and these figures are used to project expected possible MARSA results. In this paper, MARSA is projected to provide a 1,493 % return on investment.

  • Last 2003, the CRM mayor was not lively glaringly. At beginning of the year, it may be said that gained result fewer than half of that is forecasted. Enterprises are seen that there are a lot of occasions that did not carry CRM project that planned very first time in practice or put off investment program until 2004 altogether. This can see that it is thing which CRM's accuracy of data analysis process drops up to now and investment of enterprises is unprepared. In this paper, It consolidates the necessity on a LTV (Life Time Value) and analyzes data which is concerned of Customer Value. Under the these environments, defines the LTV rule that can improve the customer value. And then, Scheduling plays an important role in shop floor planning. Therefore, this study tries to proposed that Scheduling by customer needs group for minimizing the problem.
