In this study, we suggested the performance and safety testing guideline for low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) represented by the ultrasound fracture treatment device and cartilage treatment device and low intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) represented by ultrasonic face lifting device. For these study, the international standards and management regulations of Korea, Japan and United State were analyzed. And the usefulness and applicability were evaluated by testing with commercial equipment and reflecting the views of the industry and experts. As a result of this study, the safety and performance test guidelines for low intensity therapeutic ultrasound device were proposed by presenting the 10 items for LIPUS and 12 items for LIFU. The suggested guidelines are considered a high utilization in the domestic testing and approval authorities. And they are also thought to be useful to new technology development.

In this study, bending test was conducted as beam members in timber roadside safety barrier. The flexural properties of pitch pine round timber according to the diameters were evaluated. And then grading based on the growth characteristics applied to choosing the pitch pine round timbers which is met the criteria of guideline (Japan, 2008). MOR of round timber 160 mm is higher than other specimens from 100 mm to 140 mm. Because of lower juvenile wood ratio and higher density. The MOE of round timber is decreased according to the increment of diameter. Only 32% of the specimens has passed the limitations. Performance of pitch pine round timbers has confirmed to suitability roadside safety beam members according to the guideline (Japan, 2008).

The Japanese Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Standard on Drugs was finalized as a guideline and implemented in April, 1983. This standard is intended to ensure the quality and integrity of the data from nonclinical toxicity studies submitted to the Ministry of Health and Welfare in support of applications for approval to manufacture or import new drugs or to be used in the reevaluation of previously approved drugs. The standard includes a guideline for organizational matters, personnel, facility, equipment, testing operation, documentation and conduct of studies. Principles and influences of implementation of Japanese GLP will be discussed briefly in comparison with foreign GLPs.

A guideline to complement safety problem of escape code at the fire controlling design stage was shown by comparing & analysing developed fire controlling countries such as US, UK, Japan, and etc. and appropriateness of improving legislations for building standard of escape code was examined by comparing & analysing escaping time with escape code simulation(SIMULEX, EXDOUS) as the guideline.

The purpose of this study is to develop a guideline of process capability evaluation and to apply this guideline improving the quality of products, especially in the small and medium enterprises. In this study we deal in the concept of process capability evaluation, the calculation of process capability index, and the application of a case study. Man must compare the state of process with the standards in evaluating of the process capability. Control chart can be used as a yardstick for judgement for the long term period and the distribution shape of histogram for the short term period. Man should regard to the significant figure by the calculation of process capability index.

International organization and airport operator have issued a guidance manual with regard to the sustainability specialized in airport by adopting environment friendly rating system and developing a variety of sustainable practices. The structure of framework is essential to the development of practical and effective sustainability guideline of airport. Evaluation criteria and method for airport sustainability properly designed is necessary for the assurance of the level of sustainability. In this study, evaluation criteria and method proper to airport after structuring of framework for airport sustainability will be suggested by reviewing a variety of reference documents issued from foreign and domestic organization.

The interest about sustainable development of airport operation field has been increased as the aviation industry has been gradually developed and the influence to the neighboring area of airport has been increased. International organization and airport operator have issued a guidance manual with regard to the sustainability specialized in airport by adopting environment friendly rating system and developing a variety of sustainable practices. In this study, the guideline of sustainability manual appropriate to the local airports will be suggested by reviewing a variety of reference documents issued from foreign airport operators.

The condition assessment of bridges is one of the important procedures in the safety evaluation of the structures. The current inspection guideline is rather ambiguous and vague so that the inspection results based on the existing guidelines are highly subjective and varing from person to person and even day to day for a given person. It is therefore, necessary to improve the current inspection criteria in order to provide consistent results in safety assessment. To circumvent possible inconsistencies in inspection and rating of bridge components, the revised criteria have been proposed in this study. The proposed guideline and criteria may be efficiently used for the realistic and consistent assessment of bridge structures.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the facility standards of the elderly welfare facilities applying the seven principles of the universal design. The facility standards of the elderly welfare facilities were limited to the provisions of the "Enforcement Regulation of the Elderly Welfare Act". There are few legal regulations applying the universal design in the construction of the elderly welfare facilities. The facility standards are set only with the minimum requirements such as securing the safety of the user, securing the space area, functional convenience, and risk prevention. However, the contents of the regulations are limited to the minimum standards for functional convenience and safety required for living. In conclusion, in the elderly welfare facilities, the notion of universal design, which considers not only the elderly, but also service providers, employees, and general visitors, should be considered.

The purpose of this study is to analyze human safety culture of the railway driver in domestic railway industry. This study proposes safety culture improvement of domestic railway by intensively comparing railway safety system overseas to reinforce domestic railway safety. Domestic railways well known the well-organized railway safety culture has brought up safety issues on their process of private management. With this process, also, domestic safety culture is requested by increasing sense of the safety for general public. This study expects Korean railways to become a well-organized that as removing insecure factors of domestic railway based on result comparing and analyzing the manual, factors and requirements of guideline for internal and external safety culture.
