The ITER fuel cycle is designed for DT operation in equimolar ratio. It involves not only a group of fuelling system and torus cryo-pumping system of the exhaust gases through the divertor from the torus in tokamak plant, but also from the exhaust gas processing of the fusion effluent gas mixture connected to the hydrogen isotope separation in cryogenic distillation to the final safe storage & delivery of the hydrogen isotopes in tritium plant. Tritium plant system supplies deuterium and tritium from external sources and treats all tritiated fluids in ITER operation. Every operation and affairs is focused on the tritium inventory accountancy and the confinement. This paper describes the major fuel cycle processes and interfaces in the tritium plant in aspects of upcoming technologies for future hydrogen and/or hydrogen isotope utilization.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence and predictors of post-Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) complications in Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen, Thailand. Retrospective chart review was performed for 200 patients undergoing LEEP during January 2012 to February 2013. Their mean age was 45 years-old. Fifty-three (26.5%) were menopausal. The three most common preceding abnormal cervical cytology were high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL; 50%), atypical squamous cell cannot exclude HSIL (ASC-H; 10.5%), and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL; 10%). The overall complications prevalence rate was 16.5% (95%CI, 11.4-21.6). Complications included bleeding (11%; 95%CI, 6.66-15.3), offensive discharge (4%; 95%CI, 1.28-6.72), and pelvic inflammatory disease (1.5%; 95%CI, 0.18-3.18). Only mode of delivery was an independent predictor of post-LEEP complications. Women with previous caesarean sections carried an increased risk of complications by 3.9 times (95%CI, 1.21-12.56) compared with vaginal delivery. In conclusion, LEEP is generally safe with an acceptable complication rate. Previous caesarean section was the only independent predictor for post-LEEP complications. However, this predictor still needs prudent evaluation as no clear cause-effect relationship was identified.

Bifidobacterium spp. is nonpathogenic, gram-positive and anaerobic bacteria, which inhabit the intestinal tract of humans and animals. In breast-fed infants, bifidobacteria comprise morethan 90% of the gut bacterial population. Bifidobacteria spp. are used in commericial fermented dairy products and have been suggested to exert health promoting effects on the host by maintaining intestinal microflora balances, improving lactose tolerance, reducing serum cholesterol levels, increasing synthesis of vitamins, and aiding the immune enchancement and anticarcinogenic activity for the host. These beneficial effects of Bifidobacterium are strain-related. Therefore continued efforts to improve strain characteristics are warranted. in these respect, development of vector system for Bifidobacterium is very important not only for the strain improvement but also because Bifidobacterium is most promising in serving as a delivery system for the useful gene products, such as vaccine or anticarcinogenic polypeptides, into human intestinal tract. For developing vector system, we have characterized several bifidobacterial plasmids at genetic level and developed several shuttle vectors between E. coli and Bifidobacterium using them. Also, we have cloned and sequenced several metabolic genes and food grade selection marker. Also we have obtained bifidobacterial surface protein, which will be used as the mediator for surface display of foreign genes. Recently we have succeeded in expressing amylase and GFP in Bifidobacterium using our own expression vector system. Now we are in a very exciting stage for the molecular breeding and safe delivery system using probiotic Bifidobacterium strains.
In order to utilize natural gas (NG), one of the clean energy sources in next-generation, as a fuel for vehicles, it is important to store natural gas with high density. To store NG by adsorption (ANG) at room temperature and at relatively low pressure(35~40 atm) is safe and economical compared with compressed NG and liquefied NG. However, so far no adsorbent is reported to have adsorption capacity suitable for commercial applications. Nanoporous materials including metal-organic frameworks can be potential adsorbents for ANG. In this review, physicochemical properties of adsorbents necessary for high adsorption capacity are summarized. Wide surface area, large micropore volume, suitable pore size and high density are necessary for high energy density. Moreover, low adsorption-desorption energy, rapid adsorption-desorption kinetics and high delivery are needed. Recently, various efforts have been reported to utilize nanoporous materials in ANG, and it is expected to develop a nanoporous material suitable for ANG.

A magnetic cable that can safely deliver high frequency AC electric power in flammable or sensitive workplaces by preventing from arcs and electric shocks is firstly proposed in this paper. Several new magnetic cable structures with magnetic shields, which are composed of such cancel coil, cancel copper plate, and cancel copper pipe, were compactly implemented by considering and analyzing fringe field and thus the parallel leakage flux is drastically reduced. The output power and efficiency of a prototype magnetic cable with 1.5 m length and 5 cm gap were measured as 353.8W and 68%, where the source current and switching frequency were 10 $A_{rms}$ and 20 kHz, respectively. The proposed magnetic cables are fully analyzed and verified by finite-element method (FEM) simulations and experiments. The results are in a good agreement.
This study has purposes : evaluating how safe the skin is when applied with the Spicules-containing cosmetic, and whether Diamond-spicules is permeated into the skin and showed the efficacy of the active ingredients well. For these aims, women in their 30s and 60s were surveyed for skin irritation and changes after applying cosmetics to their skin for four weeks. As a result, Spicules-containing cosmetics were safer on the skin than general functional cosmetics, and in particular, in the case of cosmetics containing Diamond-spicules, statistically significant results (p<.001) were obtained in improvement of anti-wrinkle, firmness, moisturizing, whitening, alleviation of inflammation, and sensitivity. Thus, It has been proved Diamond-spicules containing functional active ingredients, not only as transdermal delivery system, but also can be used as multifunctional cosmetic material.

Providing safe and readily available water is vital to maintain public health. One of the most prevalent methods to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases is applying chlorine injection to the treated water before distribution. During the water transmission and distribution, the chlorine will experience a reduction, which can imply potential risks for human health if it falls below the minimum threshold. The ability to determine the appropriate initial intensity of chlorine at the source would be significant to prevent such problems. This study proposes two methods that integrate hydraulic and water quality modeling to determine the suitable intensity of chlorine to be injected into the source water to maintain the minimum chlorine concentration (e.g., 0.2 mg/l) at each demand node. The water quality modeling employs the first-order decay to estimate the rate of chlorine reduction in the water. The first method utilizes a backtracking algorithm to trace the path of water from the demand node to the source during each time step, which helps to accurately determine the travel time through each pipe and node and facilitate the computation of time-dependent chlorine decay in the water delivery process. However, as a backtracking algorithm is computationally intensive, this study also explores an alternative approach using a water age. This approach estimates the elapsed time of water delivery from the source to the demand node and calculate the time-dependent reduction of chlorine in the water. Finally, this study compares the outcomes of two approaches and determines the suitable and effective method for calculating the chlorine intensity at the source to maintain the minimum chlorine level at demand nodes.
Palliative care for cancer aims to relieve the discomfort and pain from the cancer itself and associated conditions. Gastrointestinal cancers originate from the tube like structure of gastrointestinal tract and cause complications such as obstruction, bleeding, adhesion, invasion, and perforation to adjacent organ. Recent advances in interventional endoscopy enables endoscopy physicians to do safe and effective care for gastrointestinal cancer patients. Endoscopic palliation includes stent, hemostasis, nutritional support and targeted drug delivery. Self expandable metallic stent is one of the most important modalities in gastrointestinal palliation. Through the endoscopy or over the wire pre-placed by endoscopy, stents restore the gastrointestinal luminal patency and relieve the obstructive condition. Endoscopic hemostasis is another important palliation in gastrointestinal cancer patients. Epinephrine injection, argon plasma coagulation and thermal cauterization are usual modalities for hemostasis. Histoacryl glue and fibrin glue are also available. Hemostatic nanopowder spray is newly reported effective in benign disease and is supposed to be effective also in cancer bleeding. Enteral feeding tubes including gastro- or jejunostomy and nosoduodenal tubes are placed by using endoscopic guidance. Enteral feeding tubes role as the route of easily absorbable or semi-digested nutrients and effectively maintain both patients calorie requirements and gut microenvironment. Photodynamic therapy is the one of the outstanding medical employments of photo-physics. Especially for superficial cancers in esophagus, photodynamic therapy is very useful in cancer removal and maintaining organ structure. In biliary neoplasm, photodynamic therapy is well known to be effective in cancer ablation and biliary ductal patency restoration. Targeted drug delivery is the lastest issue in palliative endoscopy. Debates and questions are still on the table. In this article, the role of endoscopic interventions in palliative care for the gastrointestinal tumors will be thoroughly reviewed.

Background: Patient-controlled sedation (PCS) has been blown for a safe and effective sedative method on the same pharmacological concepts of patient-controlled analgesia. Many different kinds of infusion devices have been used but they often have too long nominal infusion rate and lockout time. $Perfuser^{\circledR}$ fm (B. Braun, Germany) is a new PCA device with 999.9 ml/hr nominal infusion rate and minimum 1 min lockout time. In this study, the feasibility of propofol PCS using $Perfuser^{\circledR}$ fm was examined in order to provide a safe satisfactory sedation for dental patients. Methods: Eleven healthy patients presenting for oral surgery were studied. Propofol PCS was performed using $Perfuser^{\circledR}$ fm, which was set to deliver a bolus dose of 5 mg with 999.9 ml/hr nominal infusion rate and 1 min lockout time. Propofol loading dose was randomly assigned to a bolus dose ${\times}$ 0, 2, and 3 (initial bolus). Patients were told to press the bolus button as often as they needed to relieve discomfort. Results: Total infused dose of propofol was mean 1.8 mg/kg/hr and D (Delivery)/A (Attempt) ratio was mean 72.8%. All patients was awake and there were no clinically significant intraoperative side effects during the sedation. Almost all patients were very satisfied with this type of PCS. Conclusion: Propofol PCS using $Perfuser^{\circledR}$ fm infusion pump provided good conscious sedation for dental procedures.
