Implementation of an Integrated Monitoring System for Constructional Structures Based on SaaS in Traditional Towns with Local Heritage (SaaS(Software as a Service) 기반 지방유적도시 구조물 유지관리계측 통합모니터링시스템 구현)

  • Measuring sensor, equipment, ICT facilities and their software have relatively short life time comparing to constructional structure so that we should exchange or fix them continuously in the process of maintenance and management. In this paper, we propose a novel design of integrated maintenance, management, and measuring monitoring system applying the concept of mobile cloud. For the sake of disaster prevention for constructional structures such as bridge, tunnel, and other traditional buildings in the village of local heritage, we analyze status of these structures in the long term or short term period as well as disaster situations. Collecting data based on mobile cloud and analyzing future expectations based on probabilistic and statistical techniques, we implement our integrated monitoring system for constructional structures to solve these existing problems. Final results of this design and implementation are basically applied to the monitoring system for more than 10,000 structures spread over national land in Korea. In addition, we can specifically apply the monitoring system presented here to a bridge of timber structure in Asan Oeam Village and a traditional house in Andong Hahoe Village to watch them from possible disasters. Total procedure of system design and implementation as well as development of the platform LinkSaaS and application services of monitoring functions implemented on the platform. We prove a good performance of our system by fulfilling TTA authentication test, web accommodation test, and operation test using real measuring data.

Development of an Integrated IaaS+PaaS Environment for Providing Cloud Computing Service in a BIM Platform for Harbor Facilities (항만 BIM 플랫폼의 클라우드 서비스를 위한 IaaS+PaaS 통합 환경 개발)

  • Because the existing BIM platform is based on user services, the focus is on the development of SaaS (Software as a Service), which provides business services online. However, since a harbor is a security facility, the harbor BIM platform is preferably provided in a private form, rather than relying on the infrastructure environment provided by external cloud providers. Therefore, this study analyzes and reviews the main functions to be provided as SaaS services of the harbor BIM platform. The goal is to build a cloud-based harbor BIM platform that can provide this service to users. To this end, we built IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) environment of the harbor BIM platform based on the open source Open Stack and integrate and develop PaaS environment with Open Shift applied with IaaS. We applied the GPU to the harbor BIM platform to verify the performance of the harbor BIM platform, and found that the rendering and loading times are improved. In particular, it is expected to reduce the cost of introduction and provide it as the basic cloud environment of similar BIM platform for infrastructure facilities.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly using ERP systems to connect and manage all their functions, whether internally between the different departments, or externally with customers in electronic commerce. However, the selection of the right ERP system is usually an issue, due to the complexities of identifying the criteria, weighting them, and selecting the best system and provider. Because cost is usually important for SMEs, ERP systems based on Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) has been adopted by many SMEs. However, SMEs face an issue of selecting the right system. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzziness ranking engine system in order to match the SMEs requirements with the most suitable service provider. The extensive experimental result shows that our approach has better result compared with traditional approaches.

  • Influential trend that widely reflected the software engineering industry is service oriented architecture. Vendors are migrating towards cloud environment to benefit their organization. Companies usually offer products and services with a goal to solve problems at customer end. Because customers are more interested in solution of their problem rather than focusing on products or services. In software industry the approach in which customers' problems are solved by providing services is known as software as a service. However, software development life cycle encounters enormous changes when migrating software from product model to service model. Enough research has been done on the overall development process but a limited work has been done on the factors that influence requirements elicitation process. This paper focuses on those changes that influence requirement elicitation process and proposes a systematic methodology for transformation of software from product to service model in a successful manner. The paper then elaborates the benefits that inherently come along with elicitation process in cloud environment. The paper also describes the problems during transformation. The paper concludes that requirement engineering process turn out to be more profitable after transformation of traditional software from product to service model.

  • 최근 컴퓨터 기술의 발전과 네트워크의 개방화 그리고 무선 모바일 통신 기술의 비약적인 보급으로 인하여 컴퓨팅 환경을 이루고 있는 각종 장치(PC, 모바일 단말, 저장장치, 네트워크 기기 등)가 다양한 형태의 보안 위협에 노출되어 데이터의 유실, 조작, 유출되어 금전적인 피해를 입거나 프라이버시 침해를 받고 있다. 이러한 문제를 근본적으로 해소하기 위하여 설립된 TCG(Trusted Computing Group)는 세계적인 IT 핵심기업들을 중심으로 구성된 비영리 단체로서 PC 혹은 모바일 기기 등의 단말과 서버 장비 그리고 저장 장치 및 네트워크로 구성된 컴퓨팅 환경에서 보안성 향상 및 데이터의 신뢰성을 제고하기 위하여 TPM(Trusted Platform Module)이라는 반도체 칩을 신뢰의 기반(root of trust)으로 한 신뢰 플랫폼을 제안하고 있다. 한편 SaaS(Software as a Service)는 패키지 형태의 소프트웨어를 네트워크 서비스 형태로 바꾸어 사용량에 비례한 요금제로 과금하는 방식을 채택하고 사용자가 온디맨드로 요청한 서비스를 적시에 제공하는 기술로 최근 전세계적으로 각광을 받고 있다. 이때 다양한 컴퓨팅 환경 안의 사용자에게 높은 신뢰성과 보안성 그리고 연속성을 갖는 SaaS 서비스를 제공하고 데이터의 무결성 및 비밀유지와 정확한 서비스 사용시간을 기록하고 업로드하는 기능들을 제공하는 SaaS 플랫폼은 TPM기반의 신뢰컴퓨팅 기술을 통하여 쉽게 구현될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 일시적으로 네트워크와 차단된 상태의 PC 혹은 모바일 단말에서도 위의 조건들을 만족하는 SaaS 서비스를 지원하는 신뢰 플랫폼이 가져야 할 기능들에 대하여 분석-도출한 후 그러한 기능들을 제공하는 컴포넌트로 구성된 신뢰형 SaaS 사용자 플랫폼을 설계하였다.

  • 현재의 다양한 메쉬업(Mashup) 기술은 웹에서 제공되는 데이터, 웹서비스, RSS/Atom 피드 등에만 사용이 국한되어 있기 때문에, 클라우드 환경에 적용하게 되면 SaaS(Software as a Service) 형태의 서비스로만 구성되게 된다. 하지만, 클라우드에서는 인프라 자원들도 서비스의 형태로 접근될 수 있으며, 이를 이용한 메쉬업이 가능하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 클라우드의 인프라 자원 및 SaaS 형태의 서비스를 메쉬업 할 수 있는 효율적인 미들웨어 구조를 제안하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the processing and analyzing the linked open data (LOD), a kind of big-data, using resources of cloud computing. The LOD is web-based open data in order to share and recycle of public data. Specially, we defined the InfograaS (Info-graphic as a service), new business area of SaaS (software as a service), to support visualization technique for BA (business analytics) and Info-graphic. The goal of this study is easily to use it by the non-specialist and beginner without experts of visualization and business analysis. Data visualization is the process to represent visually and understand the data analysis easily. The purpose of data visualization is to deliver information clearly and effectively by chart and figure. The big data of public data are shared and presented in the charts and the graphics understood easily by various processing results using Hadoop, R, machine learning, and data mining of open source and resources of cloud computing.

  • In recent, library is considered as an integrated knowledge convergence center that can respond to various requests about information service of users. Therefor it is necessary to establish a novel information system based on information communications technologies of the era. In other words, it is currently required to develop mobile information service available in portable devices such as smart phones or tablet PCs, and to establish information system reflecting cloud computing, SaaS, Annotation, and Library 2.0 etc. In this paper we design and implement a library information system using collective intelligence and cloud computing. This information system can be adapted for the varieties of mobile service paradigm and abruptly increasing amount of electronic materials. Advantages of this concept model are resource sharing, multi-tenant supporting, configuration, and meta-data supporting etc. In addition it can offer software on-demand type user services. In order to test the performance of our system, we perform an effectiveness analysis and TTA authentication test. The average response time corresponding to variance of data reveals 0.692 seconds which is very good performance in timing effectiveness point of view. And we detect maturity level-3 or 4 authentication in TTA tests such as SaaS maturity, performance, and application programs.

  • This research enables the user to have access to the desired service which is on the multi-platform display device by establishment customized Digital Signage System using the SaaS method. This system is significantly favorable due to the following points: the expandibility and portability is outstanding compared with the existing signage system, establishment expenses may be reduced because the platform can be established in various configurations independently, maintenance and management, and the strong point of the system is that costs can be reduced due to the fact that the electric power can be controlled according to environmental situations. Various researches should be conducted simultaneously such as researches on automatic pattern recognition technologies which recognizes the sex, age, location among other data of the user and various methods of image processing for the production of contents to elaborate lively contents to provide diverse experience and enjoyable configurations for the future generation.

  • In this paper, we developed a system for large scale on-line interactive game server based on Platform as a Service(PaaS). Small and medium sized game developing companies have various aspects of limitation to launch a large scale on line game site. By using the system proposed in this paper, small and medium sized game developing companies can easily publish their games into market.
