AI Education Programs for Deep-Learning Concepts (딥러닝 개념을 위한 인공지능 교육 프로그램)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an educational program for learning deep learning concepts for elementary school students. The model of education program was developed the deep-learning teaching method based on CT element-oriented teaching and learning model. The subject of the developed program is the artificial intelligence image recognition CNN algorithm, and we have developed 9 educational programs. We applied the program over two weeks to sixth graders. Expert validity analysis showed that the minimum CVR value was more than .56. The fitness level of learner level and the level of teacher guidance were less than .80, and the fitness of learning environment and media above .96 was high. The students' satisfaction analysis showed that students gave a positive evaluation of the average of 4.0 or higher on the understanding, benefit, interest, and learning materials of artificial intelligence learning.

  • Through artificial neural network education using spreadsheets, non-major undergraduate students can understand the operation principle of artificial neural networks and develop their own artificial neural network software. Here, training of the operation principle of artificial neural networks starts with the generation of training data and the assignment of correct answer labels. Then, the output value calculated from the firing and activation function of the artificial neuron, the parameters of the input layer, hidden layer, and output layer is learned. Finally, learning the process of calculating the error between the correct label of each initially defined training data and the output value calculated by the artificial neural network, and learning the process of calculating the parameters of the input layer, hidden layer, and output layer that minimize the total sum of squared errors. Training on the operation principles of artificial neural networks using a spreadsheet was conducted for undergraduate non-major students. And image training data and basic artificial neural network development results were collected. In this paper, we analyzed the results of collecting two types of training data and the corresponding artificial neural network SW with small 12-pixel images, and presented methods and execution results of using the collected training data for Orange machine learning model learning and analysis tools.

  • While applying new digital technologies, interest in software and artificial intelligence is quite high. In particular, many changes are being made for the development of software and artificial intelligence in the field of education. From 2025, software and artificial intelligence-related curricula will be applied to public education in elementary, middle and high schools. The Ministry of Education is also conducting various camps to experience software and artificial intelligence in various ways in elementary, middle and high schools before they are applied to public education. Several platforms for experience camps related to software and artificial intelligence are also being used. In this study, we intend to increase the educational efficiency of the learning method for software and artificial intelligence to be developed in the future by designing a model for software and artificial intelligence experiential learning platforms.

Training Model Analysis of SW Programmers in BLE Fields through Industry-University Cooperation (산학협력을 통한 BLE분야 SW개발 인력양성 모델 분석)

  • Recently, the youth unemployment becomes the significant social problems and various industry-university cooperation projects those reflect the job site oriented education are planned and fulfilled at the university in order to help graduates to get the job easily. These efforts, however, becomes job hunting failure or suffers lots of trials and errors without reflecting the correct circumstances of the job market properly. In this paper, we propose the business model for training the 4th grade students as a job site oriented software engineers in BLE fields through tight industry-university cooperation and fulfill the related project. After then, we search for the problems and failure factors of the business model through the correspondence strategy analysis for weaknesses and threat factors and propose the improved and successful business model.

The Improvement of Information Protection Service Cost Model in Public Institution (공공기관 정보보호서비스 대가 모델의 개선 방안)

  • In this paper, related studies were investigated by dividing them into cost-benefit analysis, security continuity services, and SW-centric calculations. The case analysis was conducted on A institutions in the United States, Japan and South Korea. Based on this, an improvement model was prepared through comparison with the current system. The SCS(Security Continuity Service) performance evaluation system-based information protection service cost calculation model is proposed. This method applies a service level agreement(SLA) and NIST Cybersecurity framework that are highly effective through cost-effectiveness analysis and calculates consideration based on characteristics, performance criteria, and weights by information protection service. This model can be used as a tool to objectively calculate the cost of information protection services at public institutions. It is also expected that this system can be established by strengthening the current recommended statutory level to the enforceability level, improving the evaluation system of state agencies and public institutions, introducing a verification system of information protection services by national certification bodies, and expanding its scope to all systems.

Development of Elementary Maker Education Program using WeDo Robot (WeDo 로봇 활용 초등 메이커 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • This study conducted research on creating an environment for maker education programs for robot and SW education, development and application of maker education programs for low-grade elementary school students in farming and fishing villages. Based on the preceding maker education model, the OMCSI model was developed for the lower grade level of elementary school, and based on this, five WeDo-utilized elementary maker education programs were developed. From April 1, 2020 to October 30, 2020, the results of applying the elementary school maker education program using WeDo Robot 2.0 to 10 second graders of 10 Elementary School in Gyeongsangnam-do are as follows. The average increased by 3.40 points (t=-2.378, p=0.034) and the average increased by 3.30 points (t=-2.329, p=0.040). The average was also increased by 3.40 points (t=-2.458, p=0.038). Finally, it rose to 3.70 points (t=-2.449, p=0.037) for its reasoning ability. That is, all four sub-elements of computing thinking had a significant probability of 0.04, indicating statistical significant differences between scores of pre-post computing thinking. Therefore, the Elementary Maker Education Program using WeDo robots has worked very effectively to improve students' computing thinking skills.

양자화학 입문 과정 교육을 위한 강의 모델의 연구: 시각화와 차별화

  • 양자화학 (quantum chemistry)을 처음 접했을 때, 이전까지의 고전역학 (classical mechanics)에 익숙한 대다수의 학생들은 양자화학을 받아들이는 데 어려움을 겪는다. 모형계에 양자역학 (quantum mechanics)을 직접 적용하여 봄으로써 생소한 양자 개념에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 양자동역학 (quantum dynamics)을 수치적으로 구현하는 계산 프로그램을 모형계에 적용하여 양자 개념을 설명할 수 있는 몇 가지 예를 보이고자 한다. 1 차원 시간의존 슈뢰딩거 방정식 (1-D time-dependent $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ equation)의 해를 얻어 양자동역학을 구현하였으며, 그에 해당하는 고전동역학은 뉴턴 방정식 (Newton's equation)의 해로 얻어졌다. 조화 진동자 퍼텐셜 (harmonic oscillator potential), 모스 진동자 퍼텐셜 (Morse oscillator potential), 이중 우물 퍼텐셜 (double-well potential), 네모 퍼텐셜 장벽 (rectangular potential barrier), 그리고 에카트 퍼텐셜 (Eckart potential)에 대한 계산을 수행하였다. 두 가지 동역학을 비교하기 위하여 계산 결과의 시각화 (visualization)를 이용하고 동역학 특성의 차이를 비교하는 차별화 (differentiation)를 강조한다. 영점에너지 (zero-point energy), 위상어긋남 (dephasing), 터널링 (tunneling), 그리고 반사 (reflection) 현상과 같은 양자동역학의 특징을 고전동역학과 비교함으로써 직관적인 이해를 도울 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 양자화학에 입문하는 학생들을 대상으로 쓰일 수 있는 효율적인 강의 모델을 제시할 것으로 기대한다.

A Case Study of Basic Data Science Education using Public Big Data Collection and Spreadsheets for Teacher Education (교사교육을 위한 공공 빅데이터 수집 및 스프레드시트 활용 기초 데이터과학 교육 사례 연구)

  • In this paper, a case study of basic data science practice education for field teachers and pre-service teachers was studied. In this paper, for basic data science education, spreadsheet software was used as a data collection and analysis tool. After that, we trained on statistics for data processing, predictive hypothesis, and predictive model verification. In addition, an educational case for collecting and processing thousands of public big data and verifying the population prediction hypothesis and prediction model was proposed. A 34-hour, 17-week curriculum using a spreadsheet tool was presented with the contents of such basic education in data science. As a tool for data collection, processing, and analysis, unlike Python, spreadsheets do not have the burden of learning program- ming languages and data structures, and have the advantage of visually learning theories of processing and anal- ysis of qualitative and quantitative data. As a result of this educational case study, three predictive hypothesis test cases were presented and analyzed. First, quantitative public data were collected to verify the hypothesis of predicting the difference in the mean value for each group of the population. Second, by collecting qualitative public data, the hypothesis of predicting the association within the qualitative data of the population was verified. Third, by collecting quantitative public data, the regression prediction model was verified according to the hypothesis of correlation prediction within the quantitative data of the population. And through the satisfaction analysis of pre-service and field teachers, the effectiveness of this education case in data science education was analyzed.

Development of Information Ethics Curriculum Centered on Core Concepts for Elementary School (핵심 개념 중심의 정보 윤리 영역에 대한 초등학교 정보과 교육과정 개발)

  • In recent years, There is a growing demand for more instructional hours because of the shortage of classes required for the software education included in the 2015 Revised Practical Arts Curriculum of elementary schools. Therefore, the Korea Association of Information Education developed the Informatics Curriculums Standard Model from 2014 to 2016 to revise the next 2020 curriculum. However, the KAIE curriculum lacks linkages with secondary school informatics curriculum and is not composed of core concept-based achievement criteria so that teachers have a lot of difficulties in reconstructing and operating the KAIE curriculum. In this study, four core concepts of information ethics were selected by conducting Delphi survey focusing on the teachers of elementary schools. In other words, we selected the core concepts of the information ethics domain: internet etiquette, personal information protection, information life, and copyright protection. Also, we suggested 16 specific criteria for the core concepts.

  • I will introduce robotics education, Novel Engineering, STOMP have hosted in CEEO at Tufts University. CEEO is a leading center for Robotics Education in all over the USA. So far lots of universities and centers have adopted these programs. CEEO have hosted many workshops for students and teachers every summer vacation. And Simple Robotics course is required for every Engineering department freshmen. Novel Engineering(NE) is not familiar to us. I think that NE will be a good tool for integrating reading literacy and engineering. When teachers design a engineering class, members of STOMP help teachers achieve the goals of class. Software Education has been widely spreaded for last several years in South Korea. If our country adopts these programs government-widely. I think that It will be able to contribute to foster SW-talented persons.
