Uniformity and performance characteristics of LTPS TFTs are important parameters for making advanced active-matrix displays. In this paper, we describe an SLS-based crystallization approach for producing orientation-controlled Si films with reduced concentrations of planar defects that stand to potentially deliver unprecedented levels of device uniformity and performance. Specifically, a 2-step process referred to as hybrid SLS has been developed that produces a variety of high-quality {100} surface-oriented Si films.
Precision thin film resistors using evanohm R alloy were fabricated by do magnetron sputtering method. The physical and electrical properties of the resistors were studied after treatment of thermal annealing. The crystallization of the film was increased as the annealing temperature increase. Diffusion and oxidation of Cr and Al elements were occurred into the film surface. The minimum TCR values of 10.46 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ and 10.65 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ were measured at the annealing temperatures of $200^{\circ}C$ and $300^{\circ}C$, respectively. We are conducting additional studies to improve characteristics of our resistors for practical device application.
High flexible lightweight composites containing tobermorite as a main mineral is produced using various amorphous silicates, lime, cement and fibers. Here, Mechanical properties of the composites were studied by observing microstructures of hydrates and fibers. Amorphous silicates having better hydraulicity retarded the crystallization of tobermorite due to better formation of C-S-H gel in water bath curing, but, difficult conversion from C-S-H gel to tobermorite in hydrothermal reaction. In the low molar ratio of CaO/SiO2 (0.67), faster crystalization was observed dued to more impurities such as Al2O3 alkali, resulting in improving mechanical properties due to small crystal size and many contact points. It was identified that a lot of calcium silicate hydates formed at surface of pulps increase bonding strength and the crack-resistance of matrix in the composites, but decrease hardness and compressive strength. The choice of amorpous silicates having better hydraulicity, low CaO/SiO2 adding each fibers bellow about 5% in the raw mixs and lower molding pressure should be needed at improve mechanical properties of composites.

Fe-base amorphous alloy and two crystalline phases composite were fabricated. The effect of temperature and strain rate on mechanical properties was evaluated utilizing compression test. Mixture of non-crystalline and crystalline phases were found using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) tests. Based on glass transition temperature and crystallization temperature. compression tests were performed in the temperature ranging from $560^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$ with $20^{\circ}C$ interval. Relationship between microstructure, including fracture surface morphology, and mechanical behavior was studied. The peak stress of Fe-base amorphous alloy was over 2GPa and expected to have a good wear resistance, but it is expected hard to deform because of low ductility. The peak stress and elongation of two crystalline phases composite was over 1GPa and about 20%, therefore it is possible to deform high strength wear resistant materials such as engine valve.
We have used acetic acids ethanol and distilled water as a solvent to synthesize $La_{2/3}Sr_{1/3}Mn_{0.99}{^{57}}Fe_{0.01}O_3$(LSMFO) precursor. Crack-free LSMFO granular polycrystalline thin films have been deposited on thermally oxidized silicon substrates by spin coaling. The dependence of crystallization, surface morphology, magnetic and transport properties on annealing temperature was investigated. With increasing annealing temperature, the metal-semiconductor (insulator) transition temperature and the magnetic moment decrease while the resistivity increases. The lattice constants remain almost unchanged. For LSMFO thin films, spin-dependent interfacial tunneling and/or scattering magnetoresistance were observed. Our results indicate that the annealing temperature is very important in determining the intrinsic and extrinsic magnetotransport properties.
Rheological, colloidal and micromeritical properties were followed to investigate aging mechanisms of hydrous aluminum oxide suspension using Zeta-meter systems, BET adsorption apparatus, Master sizer and electronmicroscope. The results indicate that hydrous aluminum oxide suspension revealed plastic flow with thixotropy. The viscosity, thixotropy and yield value were increased with increasing concentration. During aging process, the viscosity and thixotropic index were increased by an addition of glycerin, however, sorbitol stabilized aging process of the suspension being accompanied with growth of particle size and reduction in specific surface area, pore area and pore volume, and consistency. Diminution of adsorptive power of the particles was also protected by addition of sorbitol to hydrous aluminum oxide suspension. From these results, one of aging mechanism of hydrous aluminum oxide suspension assumed growth and/or crystallization of colloidal particles in aqueous suspension.

We obtained amorphous calcium carbonate through the carbonation reaction of $Ca(OH)_2$, and through this reaction, observed changes in particle shape and phase by electric conductivity, XRD and TEM analysis. According to the result of the analysis, in the first declining stage of electric conductivity, amorphous calcium carbonate that has formed is coated on the surface of $Ca(OH)_2$ and obstructs its dissolution, and in the first recovery stage of electric conductivity, amorphous calcium carbonate is dissolved and re-precipitated and forms chains of fine calcite particles linearly joined. In the second decline of conductivity, viscosity increases due to the growth of chains of calcite particles, and finally the calcite particles are dissolved and separated into colloidal crystalline calcite, thereby increasing electric conductivity again.
Detailed description of the crystal growth methods permitting one to obtain complicated shape crystals from the melt is given. The variable shaping technique provides the growth of crystals with a discrete altering cross-section configuration during crystallization. The dynamic local shaping technique enables one to grow items with a continuous alteration of the side surface profile by a preset program.
In this work, soft carbons produced by pyrolysis of petroleum and coal-tar pitch were used as the negative electrode for Li-ion batteries. We studeid the charge/discharge capacity and the interfacial reaction of these electrodes by constructing a half cell. Charge/discharge property was studied by a constant-current step and the interfacial reaction between the electrolyte and the surface of a carbon electrode was studied by the cyclic voltammetry. The initial charge/discharge capacity for the coal-tar pitch carbon increased exceedingly with the heat treatment temperature. On hte other hand, the capacity of the petroleum pitch carbon increased with temperature up to 1000$^{\circ}C$, thereafter decreased continuously. While the charge capacity decreased with the cycle number, the reversibility increased above 90%. In addition, the thermal stability and crystallization of petroleum and coal-tar pitches were analyzed by TGA and XRD, respectively.
The electrical properties of ONO interpoly dielectrics grown by polycrystalline silicon have been studied. The polysilicon layer deposited as amorphous state kept its surface smoothness even after subsequent heat cycle induced crystallization. Polysilicon was doped with a POCl$_3$ and arsenic ion implantation. Arsenic was implanted in several different doses. The effective barrier heights calculated from F-N plotting method and breakdown fields increased as the polysilicon doping concentration increased. On the other hand they mere degraded when arsenic concentration in polysilicon exceeded 2{\times}10^{20}[cm^{-3}]$. The reliability of dielectric as monitored by TDDB infant fail and breakdown field showed increasing degradation as doping concentration increased
