수준별 탐구 능력 신장을 위한 STS 학습 프로그램의 적용 (Applying STS Program to Improve the Level-Based Investigation Competence)

  • STS 학습 프로그램이 요구하는 바를 현장 과학 교육에 구현시키기 위해서는 모든 학습자에게 적절한 수준별 교육 자료들을 개발할 필요가 있다. 이를 위하여 과학교육의 핵심으로 볼 수 있는 과학 교과서에서 공통적으로 꼭 다루어야 할 필수항목을 추출하였다 그런 다음, 이 항목들을 수준별 STS 과학 수업 모형에 적합하도록 개발하였다. 이연구의 목적은 수준별 탐구 능력을 신장하기 위해서 STS 학습 프로그램을 적용하는 데 있다. 이 연구를 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 몇 가지 결론을 얻을 수 있었다: 첫째, 부분적이나마 과학 교과목을 학습하는 태도에 긍정적인 변화가 있었다. 둘째, 생활 주변에서 그 소재를 찾아 과학. 기술, 사회에 접목시킨 수업이기에 과학 기술과 우리의 생활이 밀접한 관계에 있다는 사실을 알게 되었고, 학습의 흥미 유발에 많은 도움이 되었다. 셋째, STS 소재를 구안(具案), 제작하는 과정에서 학생의 자기 주도적 탐구 활동이 이루어짐으로써 스스로 학습하는 계기를 마련할 수 있었다. 넷째, STS 학습프로그램을 적용한 실험집단과 전통적 수업 방식을 적용한 비교집단 사이에는 실험집단이 유의미하게 학업 성취도의 증가가 있었다.

  • Residual stress caused in the weldments with high restraint force are often during welding observed in the weldments of large size nozzles or radial tanks. The reason is that quantitative analysis about thermal stresses during welding is lack for this weldments. To verify FEM theory, the temperature was measured with thermocouple in a real time in this paper. Also analysis of the thermal stress for welding condition is performed by ABAQUS program package on various welding condition in STS butt welding.

첨두부하 저감을 위한 비상발전기 연계형 STS 운영 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operation Scheme of STS with Emergency Generator for Peak Shedding)

  • Recently, electricity consumption has rapidly increased along with economic growth. The operating strategy using emergency generator is aimed, to resolve a demand response management. For strategy of peak shedding using emergency generator, it is essential to introduce the fast transfer switching device. One of the most effective solutions is to use a static transfer switch (STS) based on thyristor. However, the characteristic of natural commutated SCR thyristor should anticipate short duration voltage sag. STS system thus requires more than a quarter cycle to successfully complete transfer process. This paper proposes the operation scheme of the STS system using the forced-commutation technique to mitigate instantaneous voltage sag during peak transfer process. Proposed STS system improved turn-off characteristic thus accomplishes the peak load shedding satisfied power quality. Performance of the proposed STS system is evaluated using electromagnetic transient program (EMTP) to confirm the effectiveness.

과학영재교육을 위한 웹기반 STS수업모형 개발-생물교육을 중심으로- (A Study on the Development of Web-based STS Instruction Model for the Scientifically Gifted Students- Centered on Biology Education -)

  • 본 연구는 과학영재들의 생물교육을 위한 웹기반 STS학습 프로그램을 개발하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구방법은 다음과 같은 일련의 단계를 따라 실시하였다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 수업모형의 내용구축을 위한 선행 요소로써 과학 영재들의 요구 분석, STS학습의 목표분석, 생물교과의 목표를 분석하였다. 두 번째 단계에서는 과학영재를 위한 웹기반 STS 수업모형의 구성요소를 확정하고, 수업모형의 단계를 구성하였다. 세 번째 단계에서는 두 번째 단계를 통하여 구축된 내용과 모형의 학습단계에 따라 웹프로그램 언어인 Frontpage, 나모웹에디터, Dreamweaver, Hotdog등을 사용하여 웹상에서 운용되는 STS 수업모형을 개발하였다. 이때 시스템 전문가 1인, 프로그래밍 전문가 2인, 교과 전문가 3인이 참여하였고, 구현 가능성은 전문가 10인에게 설문조사한 후 최종 결정하였다. 네 번째 단계는 완성된 수업모형을 전문가를 통하여 타당성 평가를 의뢰하였으며, 과학영재들에게도 수업모형에 대한 평가를 하도록 하였다. 단, 과학영재를 통한 평가는 수업모형 수행 이후에 얻어진 것이다. 다섯 번째 단계에서는 확정된 프로그램을 J과학고 예비 입학생 6명에게 실시함으로서, 수업모형의 내용 보완 및 오류 수정 등의 절차를 거쳐 최종 수업모형을 확정하였다. 본 프로그램의 특성은 첫째, 본 연구에서 개발한 웹기반 STS 수업모형은 기존의 STS 교육방법이나 학습프로그램과는 달리 학생들이 보다 능동적인 참여자로써 임할수 있는 모형이다. 기본적인 학습단계는 학생 주도적인 과제선정-탐색-개념원리 점검-해결안 제시-실행으로 기존 모형들과의 차이점은 '개념원리 점검 단계'에서 찾을수 있다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 개발한 STS 수업모형은 Renzulli의 심화학습3단계 모형과 lCP의 모형을 기본토대로서 활용하여 학습자의 능동적 참여를 강조하는 학습자 중심의 모형이다. 학습자 스스로 무엇을 배울 것인가를 정하게 하고 구체적인 연구계획서를 작성하게 하여, 과학적인 접근법으로 자신의 과제를 해결할 수 있도록 지원하는 학습자 주체의 능동성을 고려하였다.

만성편마비 환자의 재활 운동 유형이 일어서기 동작의 운동학 및 운동역학적 변인에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Rehabilitation Training Programs on the Kinetic and Kinematic Parameters During Sit-To-Stand in Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of different types of rehabilitation training program on the kinetic and kinematic parameters during sit-to-stand movement(STS) in chronic stroke patients. Two groups of hemiparetic patients, experimental and control, participated in the study. The experimental group participated in a 10-week training program (three sessions/wk, $1{\sim}1.5\;hr/session$) consisting of a warm-up, aerobic exercises, lower extremity strengthening. and a cool-down. The control group participated in an aerobic exercise. Three dimensional kinematic analysis and force platform; were used to analyze the duration of STS, lower extremity angle, and weight bearing ability. The experimental group which had more strength of lower extremity displayed decrease in duration of STS. However, the control group showed increases in duration during sit-to-stand movement. The control group flexed their trunk more than the group did Therefore, it took more time to extend their trunk during STS. The duration in sit-to-stand was affected by the strength of lower extremity and the angle of trunk movement. The angles of ankle and knee joint had an influenced on duration of STS. The post experimental group performed with their feet near the front leg of the chair during sit-to-stand, therefore the duration was decreased. The repetitive sit-to-stand movements as a resistance exercise was effective to hemiparetic patients in learning mechanism of sit-to-stand. The control group showed decreased differences in the vertical ground reaction forces between paretic and non-paretic limbs. Their training program included strengthening exercise that may help improving weight bearing ability. The control group showed increases in the center of pressure in the anteroposterior and mediolateral displacement. This means that the stability of movement was low in the control group. Their training program which combined aerobic and strengthening exercises that are more effective to improve the stability of movement.

Effects of sit-to-stand imagery group training on balance performance in individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke: a randomized control trial

  • Objective: To evaluate the effects of sit-to-stand (STS) imagery group training (IGT) on STS movement and balance performance for chronic hemiparetic stroke. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: A total of 30 people with chronic hemiparetic stroke (15 for STS-IGT group and 15 for control) were recruited in this study. The STS-IGT group participated in a videotape-based STS-IGT for 30 minutes a day, five days a week for six weeks, while the control group watched a documentary on television for the same period. The STS-IGT focused on a five-stage protocol. Specifically, external imagery was used during the four phases of the STS movement from the seat of the chair to standing up. All of the participants also participated in a regular rehabilitation program. STS movement and balance performance were assessed using three clinical measures. Results: After training, time to perform the 5-repetition STS test significantly increased in the STS-IGT group (change value, $4.0{\pm}2.0$ sec) compared with the control group (change value, $0.9{\pm}0.7$ sec) (p<0.05). There was a greater improvement in Berg balance scale scores in the STS-IGT group (change value, $0.2{\pm}4.1$ points) compared with the control group (change value, $0.3{\pm}0.9$ points) (p<0.05). There was a greater improvement in Timed Up and Go scores in the STS-IGT group (change value, $2.6{\pm}1.5$ sec) compared with the control group (change value, $0.9{\pm}1.0$ sec) (p<0.05). Conclusions: STS-IGT can be considered as a useful option for restoration of STS movement and balance performance for individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke who are unable to fully participate in physical activities.

수치해석을 통한 해상 Ship-to-Ship 계류 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Offshore Ship-to-Ship Mooring Characteristics through Numerical Analysis)

  • 최근 액체화물운반선 운송량이 증가함에 따라 국내외에서 해상환적(Ship-to-ship)에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. STS 계류의 경우, 일반적인 부두에서의 계류와 그 특성이 다르기 때문에 다른 기준으로 안전성 검토가 이루어져야 하지만, 국내에서는 별도의 기준이 부재한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 STS계류의 특성을 파악하기 위해 상용 수치해석프로그램인 OPTIMOOR 프로그램 이용한 STS 계류 시뮬레이션 및 민감도 분석을 시행하였다. 대상해역은 여수항의 D2 정박지를 모델링하였으며, 대상 선박의 모델링은 VLCC-VLCC의 Case로 선정하였다. 이 수치해석과 민감도 분석을 통하여 STS 계류의 특성을 파악하고자 하였으며 이를 바탕으로 STS 계류안전성 평가에 대한 기준을 확립하고자 하였다. 수치해석 시뮬레이션 결과, STS 계류는 선박 재화상태, 기상상태(파주기 및 파고영향) 및 만남각, 그리고 계류삭의 초기장력 등에 따라 변화함을 확인하였다. 또한 Risk Matrix를 작성하여 해당 해역에서의 안전외력범위를 설정하였다. 이 결과를 통해 STS의 계류 특성을 파악할 수 있으며, 계류안전성 평가 기준을 개정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Cr-free Si 변성 유/무기하이브리드 코팅액에 의한 열화된 STS310S 및 STS347H의 내식성 (Corrosion Resistance of Degraded STS310S and STS347H by Cr-free Modified Si Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Coating Solution)

  • Austenitic stainless steels generally experience the occurrence of chromium-depleted zones at the boundaries, known as sensitization, caused by the carbide precipitation that takes place due to a welding process or heat treatment. Normally, the depleted zones become the focus of the intense corrosion. In this study, the Cr-free organic/inorganic hybrid solution was developed, and the artificially degraded STS316S and STS347H with the solution-coating investigated the corrosion resistance by salt spray test. Both the OIBD-1 and OIBD-2 solutions improved the corrosion resistance of STS310S and STS347H. The corrosion resistance with the OIBD-1 solution was better than that of OIBD-2 solution. Additionally, Both solutions have been proven excellence in adhesion ability, boiling water resistance and flexibility. However, a problem of rubbing after the boiling was found out to be overcome.

STS교육운동의 국내 연구 경향 분석과 적용방안에 관한 조사 연구 (The Trend Analysis of Korea STS Education Movement and a survey Study on Applying STS Education in Korea)

  • The purposes of this study are to analyse trend of STS movement in Korea and to collect basic data on application of STS to school science education. It investigated, from 1990 to March 1993, journals of 6 associations, a monthly magazine of science education, and printed materials of seminars or workshops about science education. It also surveied a question to 47 science teachers and 26 researchers who had experienced STS workshop. The results of the study are as follows: (1) The studies of STS increased since 1990, but they are made at a introduction or background of STS. (2) The 98.7% of the respondents want to apply STS in school science education. (3) They responded that a device for the application of STS which is added last part of each chapter or last chapter, will use the STS program that made by subject, still maintain current science curriculum. (4) They responded that the knowledge & compreshion domain and inquiry process domain contain more high than others. 5) The STS subjects for application to the school science education are as follows; Environment pollution, science for living, ethics of science, human health and disease, information communication, an ecosystem destruction, development and storage of natural resources. This study suggested that establishment of a research institute for systematic research of STS, in-service training, a new evaluation process, a balancing of other subjects and increasing learning hour and changing objectives.

개인과 조직 사이에서: 챌린저호 폭발사고에 대한 재해석과 STS-공학윤리의 접점 찾기 (Between Individual and Organization: Reinterpreting the Challenger Disaster and Finding an Interface between STS and Engineering Ethics)

  • On the grounds of Diane Vaughan's pioneering study into the Challenger Disaster, STS(Science and Technology Studies) scholars have recently argued that most engineers seldom face an ethical situation, in which the boundary between the ethical and the unethical is absolutely clear, and for which a serious moral decision such as "whistle blowing" is urgently needed. They have instead suggested that engineering ethics needs to address engineers' everyday routine practices, which, if accumulated, may have some impact upon the overall performance of the technological system. However, such studies have not completely resolved the tension between STS that emphasizes contextual elements in which the everyday practice of engineers are done, on the one hand, and engineering ethics that stresses individual engineer's moral decision of an existential kind, on the other. By discussing various works on the Challenger Disaster and related issues over technological risks, this paper attempts to establish an interface between STS and engineering ethics, and proposes some practical implications for the effective education of engineering ethics to engineering students.
