Corrosion Behavior of Arc Weld and Friction Stir Weld in Al 6061-T6 Alloys

  • For the evaluation of corrosion resistance of Al 6061-T6 alloy, Tafel method and immersion test was performed with Friction Stir Weld(FSW) and Gas Metal Arc Weld(GMAW). The Tafel and immersion test results indicated that GMA weld was severely attacked compared with those of friction stir weld. It may be mainly due to the galvanic corrosion mechanism act on the GMA weld.

  • To evaluate the applicability of dissimilar metal friction stir welding in automobile manufacturing process, friction stir welding trials were carried out for typical 5000 and 6000 series aluminum alloy sheets with 2mm thickness. The sound joints of A15052 and A16061-T6 alloys were successfully formed under a wide range of welding condition. Excellent weld ability has been obtained at a condition of rotating speed 2000rpm and travel speed 100mm/min, while a radiographic test also confirmed defect free joint for this condition. Through the Erichsen cup test, the plastic formability of the FSWelded joints was found to be about 83% of base metal.

Al6061-T6 판재의 마찰교반용접 3D 유한요소 해석 (3D Finite Element Analysis of Friction Stir Welding of Al6061 Plates)

  • Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid state joining method patented in 1991 by The Welding Institute (TWI). It is widely used for joining light metals such as Al and Mg alloys. Foreign railway vehicle manufacturing companies have been applying FSW to car body welding, but domestic companies are in the beginning of feasibility study. Therefore, lots of experimental and analytical study is needed. In this study, three-dimensional finite element modeling of the friction stir welding of two Al6061-T6 plates was carried out. And temperature field and residual stresses were obtained and compared to experimental results in the literature. It is found the analytic thermal field is in a good agreement with the experimental results, but there are some differences between numerical and experimental residual stresses.

스테비아 잎차의 제조 방법에 따른 품질 특성 (The Quality Characteristics of Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bert) Leaf Tea according to Different Manufacturing Processes)

  • In order to develop tea by using the leaves of stevia, which is a herbal plant, and to solve the disadvantages of stevia dried leaf tea, we have manufactured the steamed tea, stir-fried tea and fermented tea by changing the manufacturing processes. As a result of the sensory tests, the steamed tea, stir-fried tea and fermented tea received higher evaluations than the dried leaf tea. In terms of efficiency, it is desired that the total number of steaming and stir-frying is only once, but the fermentation is found to be the most desirable for 2 days. There are no trends for changes in the general ingredients, mineral and free amino acid contents of stevia leaf teas by different manufacturing processes. As a result for the measurement of antioxidant activities, the steamed tea and dried leaf tea did not show significant differences, but the stir-fried tea and the fermented tea show significantly low antioxidant activities as compared to the steamed tea. The contents of stevioside in both the stir-fried tea and the fermented tea were less than that in the dried leaf tea, but in the steamed tea, there was no significant difference in the content of stevioside. Base on the present observations, this study supports high potentials of steaming process in order to produce new stevia leaf tea.

AZ31와 AZ61 마그네슘 합금의 이종 마찰교반용접 특성 (Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding Characteristics of Mg Alloys(AZ31 and AZ61))

  • Friction stir welding is a solid-state joining process and is useful for joining dissimilar metal sheets. In this study, the experimental conditions of the friction stir welding were determined by the two-way factorial design to evaluate the characteristics of the dissimilar friction stir welding of AZ31 and AZ61 magnesium alloys. The levels of rotation speed and welding speed, which are welding variables, were 1000, 2000, 3000 rpm and 100, 200, 300 mm/min, respectively. From the results, the greater the rotation speed and the lower the welding speed of the tool were, the greater the tensile strength of the welded part was. The contribution of the welding speed of the tool is larger than that of the rotation speed of the tool. In addition, the optimal conditions for tensile strength in the dissimilar friction stir joint were predicted to be the rotation speed of 3000 rpm and welding speed of 100 mm/min, and the tensile strength under the optimal conditions was estimated to be $214{\pm}6.57Mpa$ with 99% reliability.

뇌의 고속스핀에코 T2강조영상에서 지방조직 억제를 위한 SPAIR의 반전시간(TI) 결정 및 STIR 영상과의 비교 연구 (Selection of TI for Suppression Fat Tissue of SPAIR and Comparative Study of SPAIR and STIR of Brain Fast SE T2 Weighted Imaging)

  • 본 연구는 뇌의 T2고속스핀에코 3.0T 자기공명영상에서 지방조직의 억제능력을 유지하면서 동시에 지방조직의 불균일성을 최소화할 수 있는 SPAIR의 적정 반전시간(TI)을 찾아보고, 지방억제기법인 STIR기법과도 비교하고자 한다. SPAIR 프로토콜의 반전시간(TI)은 SPAIR TR(420 msec)의 1/2, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12, 즉 210 msec(8명), 140 msec(26명), 70 msec(26명), 35 msec(18명)로 설정하고, STIR의 TI는 250 msec(26명)로 설정하여 뇌의 축방향 영상(104개)을 획득하였다. 출력영상의 지방조직, 근육조직, 백그라운드의 ROI($50\;mm^2$)를 설정하여 신호강도(SI)를 측정하였고, 지방과 근육조직과의 CNR을 산출하고, 지방조직에서 불균일치는 측정된 지방 신호의 평균치(mean)에 대한 표준편차(SD)로서 그 산출은 SD/mean으로 계산하였다. 측정결과는 첫째, SPAIR TI가 70 ms일 때, 지방조직의 신호강도가 TI가 140 ms 보다 낮게 측정되어 지방억제능력이 우수하였다. 둘째, SPAIR TI가 140 ms일 때, 영상의 질 측면에서 지방조직의 불균일치는 70 ms 보다 낮아서 영상의 질은 우수하게 나타났다. 따라서 SPAIR TI의 선택은 TR(420 ms)의 1/3인 140 ms와 1/6인 70 ms에서 결정되어야 하는데 지방조직의 억제능력과 지방조직의 불균일치에서 각각 통계적으로 유의한 차이(p < .001)를 보여 화질 측면에서 TI : 140 ms를 선택하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다. 한편, SPAIR(TI : 140 ms)와 STIR의 비교는 지방억제는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없으나(p < .252), 화질 측면에서 SPAIR가 STIR보다 우수한 결과를 보였고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p < .01).
