인가 전압이 Y-TZP의 저온열화에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Applied Electric Field on Low Temperature Degradation of Y-TZP)

  • Influence of applied electric field on the low temperature degradation of 3 mol% YaO3 stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals(3Y-TZP) was investigated using X-ray diffractometry of specimens aged under the dc field of 1.1 kV/mm in silicone oil both of 12$0^{\circ}C$-21$0^{\circ}C$. After the aging, the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation was observed only on the specimen surface of 3Y-TZP faced to the anode. This indicated that the surface was overcrowded with oxygen ions as a result of diffusion of oxygen vacancies toward the cathode-sided surface. To elucidate an influence of the applying time of the electric field on the extent of the degradation of 3Y-TZP in air, specimens were aged fore 0-2 hours under the electric field in the oil bath of 12$0^{\circ}C$ and then subsequently aged for 3h at 22$0^{\circ}C$ in air. The longer the specimens were aged under the field, the more extensive the transformation to the monoclinic phase was on the specimen surface faced to the cathode, probably originated from a high diffusion rate of oxygen ions due to a steep oxygen vacancy concentration gradient.

유압햄머다짐 준설매립지반의 액상화평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Liquefaction Potential at Reclained Land by Hydraulic Hammer Compaction)

  • In this study, the effect of relative density and fine contents(Finer then # 0.08mm sieve) on liquefaction phenomenon in reclaimed land by hydraulic hammer compaction is analyzed. For more site-specific studies, reclaimed land in Inchon International Airport is selected and the cyclic triaxial tests are performed on disturbed samples. In cyclic triaxial tests, the characteristics of reclaimed land in Inchon International Airport are considered sufficiently. The liquefaction resistance stress ratio ($\tau$$\ell$/$\sigma$v') can be defined by relative density 40, 50, 60, and 70% and also by fine contents : 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40% under relative density (D$\_$r/) 50% used disturbed samples. From tile result of comparing tile cyclic triaxial tests, it is shown that the liquefaction strength of soil increases with increases of relative density and fine contents. Fspecially fine contents is the main factor affecting the liquefaction potential. In addition, the liquefaction resistance stress ratio is reduced by the increase of fine content and tile ratio of change is steep until fine contents 20% and that is flexible during the range of fine contents 20% to 40%. Through this study, it is proved that the soil characteristics (fine contents 5∼20%) of the reclaimed land in Inchon International Airport flays an important role in the reduction of liquefaction potential.

낙동강 중류 지역의 통합적 유역환경평가 및 유형화 (An Integrated Watershed Environmental Assessment and Classification of the Mid-Nakdong River Region)

  • Many of today's environmental problems are regional in scope and their effects overlap and interact. The purpose of this paper is to developed a simple method for an integrated assessment of environmental conditions across the Mid-Nakdong River Region, by combining data on land use, impervious cover, roads, streams, riparian areas, forest patches, population, pollutant loadings, soil erosion and topography. A cluster analysis was used to identify groups of sub-watersheds with similar environmental characteristics. The mean value for each group was used to find watershed that may be more vulnerable to future environmental degradation. Watersheds in cluster I and II had high amount of forest, but the amount of riparian vegetation was low. Watersheds in cluster III, which located in the middle Geumho River and the main course of Nakdong River, had a greater proportion of their agriculture, a greater proportion of agriculture on steep slopes, and less forest adjacent to streams. Watersheds in cluster IV and V were in the most urbanized areas of the region. The principal adverse impacts for watersheds in this group were high scores for urban area, impervious cover, pollutant loadings, population density, forest fragmentation, and low amounts of forest and riparian forest cover. Notwithstanding the exploratory nature of cluster analysis, it appears to be a useful tool for grouping watersheds with similar environmental characteristics.

Pulsar observation with KVN

  • Radio pulsars are highly magnetized, rapidly rotating neutron stars that emit synchrotron radiation along the magnetic axes at their spin frequencies. Traditionally, pulsar observations have been done at low frequencies (MHz up to a few GHz), since radio pulsar spectrum is known to a power-law with a steep negative spectral index. More recently, high-frequency pulsar observations (several GHz and above) have been made as a broadband spectrometer and fast computers became available. High-frequency pulsar observations will provide information on radio emission mechanism of pulsars in the vicinity of the neutron star surface. There is also huge interest from gravitational-wave and astrophysics community to find a pulsar in the center of our Galaxy. The Korean VLBI Network has three 21-m single dishes in the Korean peninsula. Using KVN's lowest observational frequency of 22-GHz, we performed test observations with the KVN targeting a few selected known, bright pulsars. In addition, we have been developing pulsar pipelines that can be utilized with a VLBI facility using Mark-V. We present a brief introduction of radio pulsars and show data obtained with the KVN.

회분식 및 연속배양에 있어서 고농도 젖산의 생산을 위한 공업용 배지연구 (A Study on Industrial Media for Production of Lactic acid in Batch and Continuous Fermentations)

  • 젖산 생산에 큰 비중을 차지하는 원료비용 절감을 위한 다양한 공업적 질소원의 이용 가능성을 조사하였다. CSL를 사용하여 회분 발효한 결과, CSL 5%배지 발효시 높은 생산성을 보였으며, 정제 CSL을 사용한 배지에서 젖산 생산성은 CSL보다 약 1.21 배 증가율을 보였다. Yeast extract와 CSL 혼합질소원의 배지조성을 변화시켜 LBM5의 젖산 생성정도를 알아본 결과, 조성 비율 1:8일 때 우수한 발효율을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 발효 폐기물의 대체 질소원 사용가능성을 조사하기 위하여 맥주공장에서 부산물로 배출되는 폐효모를 이용하여 발효시에도 CSL 5%와 비슷한 발효율을 얻었다 연속발효 수행결과, 최적의 희석율은 0.05-0.065-1h였으며 젖산 생산성에 있어서 회분발효보다 1.93.0배증가하였다. 한편 초기 순수배지에 들어가는 yeast extract양의 1/3-2/3를 발효폐액에 첨가하여 회분발효 및 연속발효 실험을 수행하여 높은 젖산 생산성을 얻으므로써 공정상 원료비 절감효과를 기대할 수 있어으며 잔류 영양분을 재사용함으로써 폐액량 감소에 따른 처리비용 절감이라는 이중적인 효과를 얻게 되었다.

바리스터와 LC필터를 조합한 교류 전원용 서지보호장치 (Surge Protective Device Combined with Varistor and LC Filter on AC Power Circuits)

  • I본 논문은 교류 전원용 바리스터와 LC필터를 조합한 서지 보호장치에 대해서 기술하였다. 지금까지 교류 전류용 서지 보호장치로써 바리스터만이 주로 사용되어 왔으나, 이것은 급상승하고 높은 잔류전압 때문에 보호되어야 할 장비에 해로운 결과를 초래하는 경우도 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 교류 전원용 서지 보호장치의 차단 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 바리스터와 LC필터로 구성된 조합형 서지 보호장치를 설계.제작하였다. 그리고 서지 보호장치의 동작특성과 차단 성능의 분석에 대한 실험을 1.2/50[$\mu\textrm{s}$] 임펄스 발생기를 적용하여 수행하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 제시한 조합형 서지보호장치는 서지 전압을 더욱 낮게 제한할 수 있고, dV/dt의 값을 매우 낮은 값으로 감소시키며, LC필터에 의한 출력단의 고주파 전압을 효과적으로 감쇠시킬수 있기 때문에 전자시스템의 손상과 전도를 더욱 더 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다.

Direct Block of Cloned $K^+$ Channels, Kv1.5 and Kv1.3, by Cyclosporin A, Independent of Calcineurin Inhibition

  • The interaction of cyclosporine A (CsA), an immunosuppressant, with rat brain Kv1.5 (Kv1.5) channels, which were stably expressed in Chinese hamster ovary cells, was investigated using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique. CsA reversibly blocked Kv1.5 currents at +50 mV in a reversible concentrationdependent manner with an apparent $IC_{50}$ of 1.0μM. Other calcineurin inhibitors (cypermethrin, autoinhibitory peptide) had no effect on Kv1.5 and did not prevent the inhibitory effect of CsA. Fast application of CsA led to a rapid and reversible block of Kv1.5, and the onset time constants of the CsA-induced block were decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. The CsA-induced block of Kv1.5 channels was voltage-dependent, with a steep increase over the voltage range of channel opening. However, the block exhibited voltage independence over the voltage range in which channels were fully activated. The rate constants for association and dissociation of CsA were $7.0{\mu}M{-1}s^{-1}$ and $8.1s^{-1}$, respectively. CsA slowed the deactivation time course, resulting in a tail crossover phenomenon. Block of Kv1.5 by CsA was use-dependent. CsA also blocked Kv1.3 currents at +50 mV in a reversible concentration-dependent manner with an apparent $IC_{50}$ of $1.1{\mu}M$. The same effects of CsA on Kv1.3 were also observed in excised inside-out patches when applied to the internal surface of the membrane. The present results suggest that CsA acts directly on Kv1.5 currents as an open-channel blocker, independently of the effects of CsA on calcineurin activity.

Methanol 자화세균에 의한 아미노산의 생성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Production of Amino Acids by Methanol-Utilizing Bacteria)

  • About 600 strains of bacteria which can utilize methanol as the sole source of carbon were isolated from natrual sources, and their ability to produce amino acids on the medium containing methanol as the sole source of carbon was tested by paper chromatography, by which 3 strains were screened by virtue of their relatively shperior amino acid production. These were tentatively identified as follows ; one strain belonged to the genus methylomonas, while the remaining two were members of the genus Hyphomicrobium. Further studies on their growth characteristics were carried out with relation to amino acid production. According to these experiments, the following results were obtained. 1) No vitamin added was effective for the growth enhancement. 2) Optimum initial concnetration of methanol was proved to be one per cent (v/v), and no conspicuous effect of feeding methanol on the growth of these bacteria ould be observed, provide that the initial methanol concentration was controlled to 1 per cent. 3) Among the nitrogen sources tested, 0.1 per cent of ${(NH_4)}_2SO_4$ enabled the best growth. 4) Addition of 0.001 per cent $MgSO_4.$ $7H_2O$ largely increased the growth of all three strains. Other metal ions tested were either not effective or strongly inhibitory for the growth. 5) Addition of 0.1 per cent each of yeast extract, corn steep liquor, beef extract, and peptone also increased the growth markedly. 6) About $75{\mu}$g/ml of alanine could be obtained finally after 64 hr culture of Hypm. A on the medium lcontaining 0.1 per cent yeast extract and 1 percent methanol. Approximately $40.{\mu}$g/ml of glutamic acid by Hypm. GA and $43.{\mu}$g/ml of alanine by Mtlm. A were produced at the same culture conditions.

기선기현강의 연구 1, 재래식 어구의 유구저황과 그물꼴에 관하여 (STUDY ON THE ANCHOVY BOAT SEINE 1. On the Hydrodynamic Resistance and Performance of the Conventional Gear)

  • 자루 입구의 둘레가 력자망지 150골(75m)되는 권현망어구의 $\frac{1}{10}$ 크기의 모형을 제작하여, 어구의 유분저항과 린망중의 그물꼴에 관하여 실험한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 모형 어구로부터 환산된 실물어구의 유분저항은 (R은 kg, v는 m/sec) 전저항 $$R_1=30,000\;v^{1.2}\;(0.2{\leqq}v{\leqq}1.0)$$ 자루 저항 $$R_2=16,000\;v^2\;(0.2{\leqq}v{\leqq}0.6)$$ 2. 예망중의 그물꼴은 (1) 오비기(extension wing) 발줄의 전 길이 중, 앞 끝부터 약 $70\%$ 까지는 직선상으로 깊어지며, 해저에 나란한 부분은 안쪽 약 $30\%$ 정도이다. (2) 수비(inside-wing)의 마깥 언저리는 예망속도가 0.2 m/sec이상 되면, 자루와 수비의 연결부 보다 더 뒤로 쏠려서, 어군을 자루로 유도하는 데 합리적인 형상이 아니다. 이것을 시정하기 위해서는, 수비의 깊이 방향의 코스를 $\frac{1}{2}\~\frac{2}{3}$ 정도로 줄이거나, 또는 그물코의 크기를 그런 정로로 줄임과 동시에, 자루 입구에서 오비기 발줄로 가는 힘줄을 넣어서 수비에는 예망장력이 적게 미치도록 하는 것이 좋다고 생각된다. (3) 앞치마(lower bosom)는 예망속도가 0.2m/sec이상 되면, 뒤끝치 들어 올려져서 수심이 깊은 어장에서는 수비에까지 유도된 어군도 이리로 해서 도피할 우려가 있다. (4) 문턱(upper bosom)의 계관 상의 경사 각도는 $35\~40^{\circ}$이다. 이것은 어군을 자루그물로 유도하게 유도하기에는 너무 크다고 보아진다. 따라서, 문턱은 좀 더길게 해서 경사 각도를 작게 하는 것이 좋다고 생각된다. (5) 자루(bag net)의 모양은 예망속도가 0.2m/sec 이상 되면, 뒤쪽이 앞쪽보다 좁아져서, 구성상 앞쪽보다 뒤쪽을 넓게한 의도가 나타나지 않는다. 따라서 자루 그물은 전체 모양이 길다란 원통형이 되게 구성하는 것이 합리적이라고 생각된다.

양성자 선량 분포 검증을 위한 즉발감마선 분포측정 장치 최적화 연구 (Study on Optimization of Detection System of Prompt Gamma Distribution for Proton Dose Verification)

  • 양성자 치료에서 치료의 목표를 달성하고 환자의 안전을 제고하기 위해 인체 내 양성자 빔의 분포를 확인하는 것이 중요하다. 양성자 선량분포와 밀접한 관계가 있는 즉발감마선의 2차원 분포 측정을 위하여 본 연구팀에서는 다수의 CsI(Tl) 섬광체가 1차원 종형으로 배열된 검출기 배열과 집속장치 및 다채널 신호처리 장치로 이루어진 측정장치를 개발하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서 몬테칼로 기반의 MCNPX 코드를 이용하여 최적화된 측정 장치를 설계하고자 하였다. 즉발감마선을 효과적으로 측정하기 위해 CsI(Tl) 섬광체의 크기를 $6{\times}6{\times}50mm^3$로 결정하였으며, 배경감마선의 영향을 최소화하고 빔의 진행방향에서 수직방향으로 발생하는 즉발감마선만 측정하기 위해 집속장치의 구멍 크기는 면적 $6{\times}6mm^2$, 길이 150 mm로 최적화되었다. 150 MeV 양성자 빔에 대한 성능 예측 전산모사연구를 수행한 결과, 본 연구에서 최적화된 측정 장치를 통해 즉발감마선 2차원 분포를 측정할 수 있었으며, 1 mm 오차범위에서 양성자 빔의 비정을 결정할 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 현재 다채널의 신호처리 장치를 개발하고 있으며 실제 양성자 빔을 이용한 즉발감마선 분포측정을 통해 측정 장치의 성능을 검증할 것이다.
