DISK OF Be STAR WITH EMISSION (Hα 방출선을 통한 Be 항성 원반)

  • We have determined the disk size of Be stars by using $H{\alpha}$ emission. We observed spectra of Be stars with telescope in SNU, equipped with SB SGS (Santa Babara Self Guided Spectrograph) and CCD ST-8. The size of disk of Be stars was estimated with the Be star model of Grundstrom & Gies (2006). This study suggests that the medium resolution spectra taken with small telescope equipped with commercial spectrograph are useful to estimate the approximate size of the $H{\alpha}$ emitting disk around Be stars.

  • The global trade partners have been diversified and mixed in agricultural market, which is expended the international agri-food market through the Regional Trade Agreement and World Trade Organization, etc. The aim of this study is to derive influential factors for exports increases of agricultural products targeting to Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). We set the equation for agricultural products exports referred to panel gravity model considering panel fixed effect for controlling endogeneity within variables. The results of this study are the follows; (1) Social economic distance considering international oil price negatively affects in the mushroom model; (2) Korean GDP affects (-) in a mushroom model and (+) in a vegetable model, however, ASEAN's per capita GDP indicates opposite influence in the same model; (3) Relative exchange rate shows negative impact in a vegetable model; (4) The entry status into WTO and the status in force of FTA have converse effects in mushroom and vegetable model, respectively.

  • This study aims to research on the relationship between job resources, symptoms of burnout, and depersonalization and its impact on the customer orientation. Using data from hotel frontline employees of Seoul in Korea, it seeks to investigate the mediating effects of burnout symptoms and depersonalization to the relationships between job resources and customer orientation. Data was analyzed using Structural Equations Modeling (SEM) by of AMOS program. The research advances understanding of the relationships between job resources, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization as a situational personality trait and the FLE customer orientation in five deluxe star hotel environment. The findings highlight the value of burnout and depersonalization, and suggest a number of practical implications for the identification, recruitment and retention of hotel employees.

A Facility Location Model Considering the Urban Spatial Structure by Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 도시공간형태별 입지선정 모델)

  • Facility location problem is an important subject in many areas of modern business environment. In this paper, we deal with uncapacitated and multi-period facility location problem where the object is a maximization of total profit within predetermined cost. We assume that all demand have to be met. Particularly, we represent various types of customer based on four well-known urban spatial structures to represent a spread of customers. Those are concentric zone model, sector model, multiple nuclei model and star model respectively. We apply to the genetic algorithm to simulate a large scaled problem and develop simulator. We analyze both optimal numbers and locations of facilities for each urban structure. Furthermore, we examine the appropriate time to further expansion of the facilities in the planning horizon. The experimental results show that the developed algorithm can be applied effectively to the facility location problem in the various types of urban area.

A Structural Model Analysis of Hotel Brand Personality Influencing Restaurant Loyalty Mediated through Restaurant Trust and Satisfaction (호텔 브랜드 개성이 레스토랑에 대한 신뢰와 만족을 매개로 하여 레스토랑 충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate whether hotel brand personality predicts restaurant loyalty mediated through trust and satisfaction. An experimental design is applied to test six hypotheses that reflect the research questions. The guests who have experienced dining in five star hotels in Seoul are targeted for sampling. A total of 184 faithful cases out of 250 cases have been analyzed. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling (SEM) are employed using the SPSS and AMOS 7. The findings indicate that hotel restaurant customers' loyalty is positively influenced by hotel brand's ruggedness and sophistication. Also, all the variables in brand personality except excitement have a positive impact on hotel restaurant customers' trust. Noticeably, hotel restaurant satisfaction is increased through brand sincerity and sophistication. Finally, both restaurant trust and satisfaction have a positive impact on restaurant loyalty. In conclusion, these findings suggest that hotel practitioners need to develop the influential variables of hotel brand personality to elevate the level of restaurant loyalty.

Numerical Study on Propeller Cavitation and Pressure Fluctuation of Model and Full Scale ship for a MR Tanker (MR Tanker 실선 및 모형선 프로펠러 캐비테이션 및 변동압력 수치해석 연구)

  • Propeller cavitation extent, pressure fluctuation induced by cavitation, pressure distribution on propeller blade, total velocity distribution and nominal wake distribution for a MR Taker were computed in both conditions of model test and sea trial using a code STAR-CCM+. Then some of the results were compared with model test data at LCT and full-scale measurement (Ahn et al (2014); Kim et al (2014)] in order to confirm the availability of a numerical prediction method and to get the physical insight of local flow around a ship and propeller. The nominal wake distributions computed and measured by LDV velocimeter on the variation of on-coming velocity show the wake contraction characteristics proposed by Hoekstra (1974). The numerical prediction of propeller cavitation extent on a blade angular position and pressure fluctuation level on each location of pressure sensors are very similar with the experimental results.

  • KOSPI200 index is the Korean stock price index consisting of actively traded 200 stocks in the Korean stock market. Its base value of 100 was set on January 3, 1990. The Korea Exchange (KRX) developed derivatives markets on the KOSPI200 index. KOSPI200 index futures market, introduced in 1996, has become one of the most actively traded indexes markets in the world. Traders can make profit by entering a long position on the KOSPI200 index futures contract if the KOSPI200 index will rise in the future. Likewise, they can make profit by entering a short position if the KOSPI200 index will decline in the future. Basically, KOSPI200 index futures trading is a short-term zero-sum game and therefore most futures traders are using technical indicators. Advanced traders make stable profits by using system trading technique, also known as algorithm trading. Algorithm trading uses computer programs for receiving real-time stock market data, analyzing stock price movements with various technical indicators and automatically entering trading orders such as timing, price or quantity of the order without any human intervention. Recent studies have shown the usefulness of artificial intelligent systems in forecasting stock prices or investment risk. KOSPI200 index data is numerical time-series data which is a sequence of data points measured at successive uniform time intervals such as minute, day, week or month. KOSPI200 index futures traders use technical analysis to find out some patterns on the time-series chart. Although there are many technical indicators, their results indicate the market states among bull, bear and flat. Most strategies based on technical analysis are divided into trend following strategy and non-trend following strategy. Both strategies decide the market states based on the patterns of the KOSPI200 index time-series data. This goes well with Markov model (MM). Everybody knows that the next price is upper or lower than the last price or similar to the last price, and knows that the next price is influenced by the last price. However, nobody knows the exact status of the next price whether it goes up or down or flat. So, hidden Markov model (HMM) is better fitted than MM. HMM is divided into discrete HMM (DHMM) and continuous HMM (CHMM). The only difference between DHMM and CHMM is in their representation of state probabilities. DHMM uses discrete probability density function and CHMM uses continuous probability density function such as Gaussian Mixture Model. KOSPI200 index values are real number and these follow a continuous probability density function, so CHMM is proper than DHMM for the KOSPI200 index. In this paper, we present an artificial intelligent trading system based on CHMM for the KOSPI200 index futures system traders. Traders have experienced on technical trading for the KOSPI200 index futures market ever since the introduction of the KOSPI200 index futures market. They have applied many strategies to make profit in trading the KOSPI200 index futures. Some strategies are based on technical indicators such as moving averages or stochastics, and others are based on candlestick patterns such as three outside up, three outside down, harami or doji star. We show a trading system of moving average cross strategy based on CHMM, and we compare it to a traditional algorithmic trading system. We set the parameter values of moving averages at common values used by market practitioners. Empirical results are presented to compare the simulation performance with the traditional algorithmic trading system using long-term daily KOSPI200 index data of more than 20 years. Our suggested trading system shows higher trading performance than naive system trading.

A Study on the Chef's Shared Leadership for Effective Job Performance in Hotel Cooking Department (호텔조리부서에서 효과적인 직무성과를 위한 쉐프의 공유 리더십에 대한 연구)

  • This study is a study on the cooking department where chefs who belong to the desired job of elementary and middle school students work together with the recognition increase through the media. The cooking department, which has a vertical structure at work, can be said to have an absolute influence of the chef. However, the cooking department needs to change according to the times. The purpose of this study was to examine how chef's shared leadership affects the chef's emotional commitment, continuous commitment, job satisfaction, and job performance. Therefore, a questionnaire was distributed to the employees currently working in the cooking department of a five-star hotel in Seoul, and a sample of 319 copies was prepared. In statistical analysis, the items were refined through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis, and the hypotheses were verified through structural model analysis.As a result, Chef's shared leadership influences the emotional commitment of cooks, job satisfaction and job performance. In particular, emotional commitment and continuous commitment did not affect cooks' job satisfaction and job performance. In conclusion, to improve the performance of the organization, the hotel culinary department must establish a culture of sharing and communication. This suggests that establishing goals and visions will lead to job satisfaction and performance not only for individual cooks but also for the entire department. Therefore, it is expected to contribute to the efficient human resource management for the cooks in the hotel cooking department.

The Development and Validation of Learning Progression for Solar System Structure Using Multi-tiers Supply Form Items (다층 서답형 문항을 이용한 태양계 구조 학습 발달과정 개발 및 타당성 검증)

  • In this study, we developed a learning progression for the structure of the solar system using multi-tier supply form items and validated its appropriateness. To this end, by applying Wilson's (2005) construct modeling approach, we set up 'solar system components,' 'size and distance pattern of solar system planets,' and 'solar system modeling' as the progress variables of the learning progression and constructed multi-tier supply form items for each of these variables. The items were applied to 150 fifth graders before and after the classes that dealt with the 'solar system and star' unit. To describe the results of the assessment, the students' responses to each item were categorized into five levels. By analyzing the Wright map that was created by applying the partial credit Rasch model, we validated the appropriateness of the learning progression based on the students' responses. In addition, the validity of the hypothetical pathway that was established in the learning progression was verified by tracking changes in the developmental level of students before and after the classes. The results of the research are as follows. The bottom-up research method that used multi-tier supply form items was able to elaborately set the empirical learning progression for the conceptualization of the structure of the solar system that is taught in elementary school. In addition, the validity of the learning progression was high, and the development of students was found to change with the learning progression.

The Effect of Teamwork by Servant Leadership on Job Satisfaction (서번트 리더십에 따른 팀워크가 직무 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study planned study model through documentary research and drew hypothesis to analyze how teamwork of servant leadership has an influence on job satisfaction aiming at full time employee under department head and contract worker of five star hotel in Busan. As a survey term, from April 5th, 2010 to April 23th, 2010, it distributed total 300 questionnaires, 60 questionnaires for each hotel, and then 242 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis. It analyzed data using SPSS WIN Version 12.0 statistics package program, and verified through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis. As a result of verification for influence of servant leadership on interchange which is one of teamwork, it showed that community formation factor has a positive influence on interchange, and as a result of verification for influence on communication which is one of teamwork, I could find out that higher the level of bond of sympathy formation and community formation factor are, higher the communication becomes. As a result of verification for influence on interdependence which is one of teamwork, it showed that community formation, stewardship, vision, commitment to growth factor have a positive influence on interdependence. As a result of verification for influence of teamwork factor on job satisfaction, it showed that all factors have a positive influence. As a result of this study. I could find out that member' positive perception on leader in hotel organization can be a basis deriving job satisfaction though teamwork.
