A Study on the Development of the Screw for Permanent Fixing Using ADS (ADS를 이용한 영구체결용 나사개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study is an introduction of ADS in which we have written out programs which can design three-dimensional machine parts and reduce the required time for design them comparing with other CADs. Among the machine parts, screws are commonly used in joining one part to another because of easy handing but welding and rivet are used to join permanently them even thought hard operation. Consequently, we have developed the screw fer permanent fixing using stairs type screw threads, which is considered as the main machine parts in joining. For that, we designed permanent fastened screws according to the different rotation angle using VisualLISP and transferred it to ANSYS, structural solution program, to find out allowance load, maximum equivalent stress and where it occur.

The Bobath Approach for Walking Improvement on Child with Mental Retardation (정신지체 아동의 보행능력 향상을 위한 보봐스 접근법 : 개별실험연구)

  • Purpose : In this case report, we demonstrated the improvement of gait ability on the child who has mental retardation with incomplete gait pattern. Methods : The subject was a 4 years old boy with mental retardation. We applied the Bobath approach to the subject. Treatments included to facilitate trunk alignment and stability, and to train weight bearing and shifting, to facilitate pelvis posterior-anterior movement, and to train walk especially stance phase and assist up-down stairs locomotion in environment similar to actual daily life. It was performed 24 sessions for 12 weeks. Results : With this treatment, he could accomplish dynamic standing stability and he could independent walk at the out door after 12 weeks. In gross motor function measure(GMFM), total motor function was improved to 85.6% from 75.7%. Conclusion : The gait ability of child with mental retardation was improved by using the bobath approach.

  • This Paper Proposes A Robust Image Stabilization System For A Mobile Robot Using An Extended Kalman Filter (Ekf). Though Image Information Is One Of The Most Efficient Data Used For Robot Navigation, It Is Subjected To Noise Which Is The Result Of Internal Vibration As Well As External Factors Such As Uneven Terrain, Stairs, Or Marshy Surfaces. The Camera Vibration Deteriorates The Image Resolution By Destroying The Image Sharpness, Which Seriously Prevents Mobile Robots From Recognizing Their Environment For Navigation. In This Paper, An Inclinometer Was Used To Measure The Vibration Angle Of The Camera System Mounted On The Robot To Obtain A Reliable Image By Compensating For The Angle Of The Camera Vibration. In Addition The Angle Prediction Obtained By Using The Ekf Enhances The Image Response Analysis For Real Time Performance. The Experimental Results Show The Effectiveness Of The Proposed System Used To Compensate For The Blurring Of The Images.

A Study on Stabilization of Walking and Working Motion of Biped Robot (보행로봇의 워킹 및 작업동작 안정화에 관한 연구)

  • In the paper, we propose an stable walking algorithm of biped robot on the ground and working motion stabilization algorithm against external disturbances. We propose obstacle hurdling, incline walking, and going-up stairs algorithm by using infrared sensors and F/T sensors. Also, posture stabilization algorithm against external forces is designed using F/T sensors. Infrared sensors are used to detect the obstacles in he working environment and F/T sensors are used to obtain the ZMP of biped robot. The experimental results show that the biped robot performs obstacle avoidance, obstacle hurdling, walking on the inclined plane by using the proposed walking moton stabilization algorithm.

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate function evaulation and related factors in the elderly. Methods: Korean version of ADL and IADL were measured for 40 normal in the Elderly in July 15-20. 2000. Their ages were 65 or more in years. 14 items from Modified Barthel Index and 14 items from Modified Lambeth Disability Screening Questionnaire were used. Results: The frequency of disability was the highest in Heavy homework(85.0%) folliwed by Walking on level 50 yards or moer(5.0%), Up&down stairs for 1 flight(5.0%) in 28 items from Modified Barthel Index and Modified Lambeth Disability Screening Questionnaire. Conclusions: Results indicated that no smoking and drinking at onset had high Modified Barthel Index. Modified Lambeth Disability Screening Questionnaire was associated with age.

  • Private universities are going through difficulties in improving facilities for the disabled students due to financial reasons. Extension elevators, grips on both sides of the hallways for the visually disabled, handrails on the walls of ramps and stairs in the existing building, and improvement of the dormitory chambers are some items of such facilities in this analysis of MyongJi University. Hence, financial support based on the long-term plans and evaluations from the National Treasury to private universities with financial stringencies, will be a critical promotion in appropriating educational budgets and executing corresponding funds. This will eventually bring equal development of educational welfare for the disabled students among national, public, and private universities.

  • Universal Design involves designing products and spaces so that they can be used by the widest range of people possible. Universal Design evolved from Accessible Design, a design process that addresses the needs of people with disabilities. This paper introduces the universal design concept through analysis of causes of railway accident within the urban railway station. Railway accident analysis was performed by the internal facilities. We analyzed the standard of accident type, accident cause and accident subject such as elevator, escalator, stairs etc.

  • This article reveals the relationship between the body characteristics of the elder people and the size of park facilities during utilization of parks by scientific investigation. The experiment involves 540 elder people, and offer concrete evidence for park design in ageing society. These evidences mainly consists of the following aspects: First, the relation between physical situation of elder people and their using parks. Secondly, the relation between the hearing status and exchange circle diameter in elders. The last is the relation between the distance visual acuity and designing the scene. Finally we get the most suitable step length range, stairs height, road slope, communication space diameter and general formulas about the best vision distance for elder people.

  • In this paper, using a genetic algorithm, consisting of six to seven degrees of freedom links, walking robot to up-stair that can walk to optimize energy and stability to generate. Walking robot to up-stairs of the four-step segmentation of the various situations that match the pace and pattern so that it can generate. It also generated using genetic algorithms to test for Matlab into the Robot Simulation of the humanoid experiment was used.
