Objectives : This study was performed to compare the effects between Mountain-burning fire method and Heaven-penetrating cooling method on thermographic change. Materials and Methods : The experiment was conducted to 20 students of College of Oriental Medicine, Woosuk University from July 12, 2011 to July 26, 2011. Acupuncture stimulation was applied at left $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$) with Mountain-burning fire method in A group(n=10) and Heaven-penetrating cooling method in B group (n=10). To estimate thermographic change, temperature of left $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$), $Shuigou$($GV_{26}$), $Zhongwan$($CV_{12}$) were measured by DITI(digital infrared thermographic image) before acupuncture stimulation and 30sec, 10min after needle removal. Results : In A group, the temperature of left $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$), $Shuigou$($GV_{26}$), $Zhongwan$($CV_{12}$) were decreased at 30sec after needle removal, statistically. And the temperature of $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$), $Zhongwan$($CV_{12}$) were decreased at 10min after needle removal, statistically. In B group, the temperature of $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$), $Zhongwan$($CV_{12}$) were decreased at 10min after needle removal, statistically. But, there was no significant difference between two groups on thermographic change, statistically Conclusions : Acupuncture stimulation applied at left $Zusanli$($ST_{36}$) with Mountain-burning fire method has more widespread effects than Heaven-penetrating cooling method. But further studies will be needed such as thermographic change with no stimulation and with more subjects.
This experiment was designed to study the change of cytotoxic and antitumor effects according to the prebrewed method of Semen Tiglii and Rhizoma Coptidis. The cytotoxic and antitumor effects were evaluated on human cell lines(A 549, Caki-1, LL2, Sarcoma 180, NIH/3T3) after exposure to prebrewed Semen Tiglii and Rhizoma Coptidis water extract 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6 mg/ml using in MTT assay, LDH, colony forming efficency and SRB assay which were regarded as a valuable method for cytotoxic and antitumor effects of unknown compound on tumor cell lines. The results obtained in this studies were as follows. 1. The cytotoxicity from the result of MTT assay was low slightly in the ST II(炒巴豆霜), high in the ST III(醋炒巴豆). The cytotoxicity of ST I + RC(生巴豆霜加黃連) was similar to that of STI(生巴豆霜). 2. The cytotoxicity from the result of LDH was low slightly in the ST Ⅱ (炒巴豆霜), high in the ST III(醋炒巴豆). The cytotoxicity of ST I + RC(生巴豆霜加黃連) was similar to that of ST I(生巴豆霜). 3. The antitumor affect on A 549 tumor cell from the result of colony forming efficiency was low slightly in the ST II (炒巴豆霜) and ST I + RC(生巴豆霜加黃連). 4. The antitumor effect on Caki-1 tumor cell from the result of SRB assay was low slightly in the ST II (炒巴豆霜). 5. Median survival time and Increased life span increased slightly in the ST I RC(生巴豆霜加黃連) and ST II (炒巴豆霜). 6. The inhibitory effect on the growth of Sarcoma 180 and Lewis lung carcinoma tumor cell increased slightly in the ST I + RC(生巴豆霜加黃連) and ST II (炒巴豆霜).
Objectives : This study was performed to observe the effects of acupuncture at right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$ on the temperature and humidity changes of Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ area according to the meridian and Keo-ja(巨刺) of oriental medicine's theory. Methods : A clinical study was done on 13 females who didn't have my disease. We used LT-8B to observe the effects of acupuncture at right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$ on the temperature and humidity changes of Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ area. Skin temperature and humidity on right and left Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ were measured by LT-8B at 1 minute before acupuncture stimulation, 1 minute and 2 minutes after acupuncture stimulation of right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$. Results : 1. After inserting the needle at the right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$ point, the temperature at the left Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ area rised from $31.60{\pm}1.13^{\circ}C$ 1 minute before to $32.24{\pm}1.19^{\circ}C$ 1 minute after the insertion and to $32.34{\pm}1.23^{\circ}C$ 2 minutes after insertion, what means an elevation by (P<0.05) between the temperature before and 2 minutes after the insertion and still an elevation by (P<0.01) between 1 minute and 2 minutes after insertion. The humidity at the same area decreased by (P<0.01) between 1 minute and 2 minutes after insertion. 2.After stimulating the right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$ point the temperature change at the right Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ area between before and after the insertion was unremarkable, however the temperature rised by (P<0.05) between 1 minute and 2 minutes after insertion and the humidity decreased by (P<0.05) between 1 minute and 2 minutes after stimulation. 3. Comparing the temperature change between 1 minute and 2 minutes after stimulating the right Nae-jong$(ST_{44})$ point, we could find a significant difference by (P<0.05) at both Sa-baek$(ST_2)$ areas. Concerning the humidity change, there were some average differences but too small for statistic significance.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the vertical changes of the lip and perioral soft tissue, following orthognathic surgery in skeletal class III patients by a cephalometric analysis of a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: A total of 20 skeletal class III patients, who had bimaxillary surgery with Le Fort 1 osteotomy and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy, were included in this study. The surgical plan for maxilla was posterosuperior impaction with the anterior nasal spine, as the rotation center. Further, the surgical plan for mandible was also posterosuperior movement. The soft tissue changes between lateral cephalogram and CBCT were compared. And the correlations between independent variables and dependent variables were evaluated. Results: There were no significant differences of the soft tissues changes between lateral cephalogram and CBCT. Upper lip philtrum length (SnLs), nasolabial angle increased and upper lip vermilion length (LsStms), lower lip length (StmiB'), lower lip vermilion length (StmiLi), lower lip philtrum length (LiB') and soft tissue lower facial height (SnMe') decreased after surgery. Change of SnLs (${\Delta}$SnLs) was influenced by vertical change of menton (${\Delta}$MeV), and change of LsStms (${\Delta}$LsStms) was influenced by upper lip thickness (ULT). Change of StmiLi' (${\Delta}$StmiLi') were influenced by preoperative overjet. Change of StmiB' (${\Delta}$StmiB') were influenced by preoperative overjet, vertical change of lower incisor (${\Delta}$L1V) and horizontal change of posterior nasal spine (${\Delta}$PNSH). Change of LiB' (${\Delta}$LiB') was influenced by ${\Delta}$L1V and ${\Delta}$PNSH. Change of SnMe' (${\Delta}$SnMe') was influenced by ${\Delta}$MeV, horizontal change of upper incisor (${\Delta}$U1H) and horizontal change of lower incisor (${\Delta}$L1H). ${\Delta}$Nasolabial angle was influenced by change of ULT (${\Delta}$ULT). Conclusion: Both soft tissues and hard tissues can be evaluated by CBCT. Posterosuperior rotation of maxillomandibular complex resulted in increase of upper lip philtrum length and nasolabial angle, while the upper lip vermilion length, lower lip philtrum length, lower lip vermilion length, and soft tissue lower facial height showed a decrease.
We measured phosphate benthic fluxes and conducted phosphate adsorption experiments in order to find out the effects of adsorption on phosphate benthic fluxes in the intertidal sediments of Keunso Bay during summer and winter. Organic carbon contents showed little variation with season at St. S1, but noticeable changes were observed at St. S2, which were three times higher in winter than in summer. The higher organic carbon contents in winter resulted from the bloom of benthic algae in surface sediments. Pore water phosphate concentrations were much higher in summer than in winter. The higher phosphate concentration in summer was probably due to the faster remineralization rate of organic matter in summer. At St. S1, benthic fluxes of phosphate showed a negative value in summer and a positive value in winter. However, St. S2 had a negative benthic flux both in summer and winter. The negative benthic flux was ascribed to the phosphate adsorption on iron oxides in surface sediments. The equilibrium concentrations of phosphate obtained from the adsorption experiment were three times higher at St. S1 than at St. S2. The relatively high adsorption coefficient and low equilibrium concentration indicated that phosphate was strongly adsorbed on the surface sediments of Keunso Bay. The strong adsorption affinity significantly reduced benthic fluxes of phosphate in the intertidal sediments.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate morphological change at the craniovertebral junction (CVJ) region using computed tomography. Methods : A total of 238 patients were included in this study, and mean age was $47.8{\pm}21.3months$. Spinal canal diameter, Power's ratio, McRae line, antero-posterior C1 ring height, atlantoaxial joint space, C2 growth, epidural space from the dens (M-PB-C2) and longitudinal distance (basion to C2 lower margin, B-C2) were measured. The mean value of each parameter was assessed for individual age groups. The cohorts were then divided into three larger age groups : infancy (I) (${\leq}2years$), very early (VE) childhood (2-5 years) and early (E) childhood ($5{\geq}years$). Results : Spinal canal diameter increased with age; however, this value did not increase with statistical significance after VE age. A significant age-related difference was found for all C2 body and odontoid parameters (p<0.05). Mean McRae line was 8.5, 8, and 7.5 mm in the I, VE, and E groups, respectively. The M-PB-C2 line showed up-and-down dynamic change during early pediatric periods. Conclusion : Expansion of the spinal canal was restricted to the very early childhood period (less than 5 years) in the CVJ region; however, the C2 body and odontoid process increased continuously with age. The above results induced a dynamic change in the M-PB-C2 line. Although C2 longitudinal growth continued with age, the McRae line showed relatively little change.
Objective : An Intracranial aneurysm is an important acquired cerebrovascular disease that can cause a catastrophic subarachnoid hemorrhage. Atherosclerosis is one of possible mechanism, but its contribution to aneurysm formation is unclear. Human apolipoprotein E[apoE] is best known for its arterial protection from atherosclerosis. In this study we observe apoE expression in experimental cerebral aneurysms of rats to elucidate the role of apoE in the process of cerebral aneurysm formation. Methods : Twenty-four male 7-week-old Sprague-Dawley strain rats received a cerebral aneurysm induction procedure. One month[12] and three months[12] after the operation, the rats were killed, their cerebral arteries were dissected, and the regions of the bifurcation of the right anterior cerebral artery-olfactory artery [ACA-OA] bifurcations were examined histologically and immunohistochemically. Results : In the 1 month group [n=12], the ACA-OA bifurcation showed no aneurysmal change in 7 rats and early aneurysmal change in 5 rats. In the 3 months group (n=12), the bifurcation showed no aneurysmal change in 2 rats and an advanced aneurysm in 10 rats. ApoE expression were in 3 specimen in early aneurysmal change, but not in advanced aneurysms. Conclusion : ApoE expression in early aneurysmal wall suggests a possible role for apoE in early events leading to aneurysm formation. Further studios are necessary to elucidate the exact role of apoE in the pathophysiology of cerebral aneurysm.

Objective : Some neurosurgeons intentionally ligate the branches of the superficial temporal artery (STA) that are not used in standard STA-to-middle cerebral artery (MCA) anastomosis for the purpose of improving the flow rate in the bypass graft. We investigated changes in bypass flow during temporary occlusion of such unused branches of the STA. Methods : Bypass blood flow was measured by a quantitative microvascular ultrasonic flow probe before and after temporary occlusion of branches of the STA that were not used for anastomosis. We performed measurements on twelve subjects and statistically assessed changes in flow. We also examined all the patients with digital subtraction angiography in order to observe any post-operative changes in STA diameter. Results : Initial STA flow ranged from 15 mL/min to 85 mL/min, and the flow did not change significantly during occlusion as compared with preocclusion flow. The occlusion time was extended by 30 minutes in all cases, but this did not contribute to any significant flow change. Conclusion : The amount of bypass flow in the STA seems to be influenced not by donor vessel status but by recipient vessel demand. Ligation of the unused STA branch after completion of anastomosis does not contribute to improvement in bypass flow immediately after surgery, and furthermore, carries some risk of skin necrosis. It is better to leave the unused branch of the STA intact for use in secondary operation and to prevent donor vessel occlusion.
The purpose of this study was to explore the change of muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility and activities of daily living to develop a rehabilitational program. The subjects were selected randomly among the patients who underwent kidney transplantations at one major transplantation hospital in Seoul, Korea. This study was carried out between November 23, 1999 and February 15, 2000. The subjects in this study consisted of 16 patients who had kidney transplantations between 1 month and 12 months ago prior to this study. They were all on steroids and did not take any physical exercise regularly. The muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility and activities of daily living were evaluated at 1st week and after 12 weeks. The data were analyzed with numbers, percentiles, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The results were as follows: 1. After 12 weeks, the grip strength was significantly decreased than 1st week (p=.0002). 2. After 12 weeks, the back lift strength was significantly decreased than 1st week (p=.0002). 3. After 12 weeks, the muscle endurance was increased than 1st week, but it was not significant(p=.5487). 4. After 12 weeks, the flexibility was significantly decreased than 1st week (p=.0002). 5. After 12 weeks, the activities of daily living was significantly decreased than 1st week (p=.0006). Like the above result, the kidney transplant receipients' muscle strength, flexibility and activities of daily living were reduced. In order to solve this problem, the writer has found that program development to prevent the defects should be extremely required. Since now on the number of patients should expand. After the kidney transplantation, the periods of 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks are extended. The writer proposes to examine the different phase of change in each periods.
To compare the efficacy of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma and Sinomenii Caulis which are medicinal plants used as Bang Kee(防己), the plants were combined with Astragali Radix and Lycopii Herba into 6 different medicinal decoctions. The specimen decoctions prepared were each decoctions of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma(St), Sinomenii Caulis(Si), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma-Astragali Radix(StA), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma-Lycopii Herba(StL), Sinomenii Caulis-Astragali Radix(SiA) and Sinomenii Caulis-Lycopii Herba(SiL). They were dosed to rats with induced hyperlipidemia. In the groups of rats with hyperlipidemia induced by high cholesterol diet, in the group which St was dosed to, there was no significant effect on the level of Tc, TG, HDLc. And in the group which Si was dosed to, the level of Tc, TG dropped and that of HDLc rose. In the groups of rats with hyperlipidemia induced by high cholesterol diet, in the group which StA was dosed to, there was no significant change in the level of Tc, TG, or HDLc. But in the group which SiA was dosed to, the level of Tc and TG dropped and that of HDLc rose. In the groups of rats with hyperlipidemia induced by high cholesterol diet, in the group which StL was dosed to, the level of TG dropped, but there was no significant change in the level of Tc or HDLc. And in the SiL group, there was no significant change in the level of Tc or TG, but the level of HDLc rose. On diseases such as hyperlipidemia, when using drug couple of Bang Kee-Astragali Radix as a treatment, Sinomenii Caulis is recommended rather than Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma, and when using drug couple of Bang Kee-Lycopii Herba as a treatment, Sinomenii Caulis and Stephaniae Tetrandrae Rhizoma neither showed significant effect. And as Lycopii Herba interrupts the effect of Sinomenii Caulis, drug couple of Sinomenii Caulis-Lycopii Herba is not recommended.

제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.
