Parameter Calibration o fthe Nonlinear Muskingum Model using Harmony Search

  • A newly developed heuristic algorithm, Harmony Search, is applied to the parameter calibration problem of the nonlinear Muskingum model. The Harmony Search could, mimicking the improvisation of music players, find better parameter values for in the nonlinear Muskingum model than five other methods including another heuristic method, genetic algorithm, in the aspect of SSQ (the sum of the square of the deviations between the observed and routed outflows) as well as in the aspects of SAD (the sum of the absolute value of the deviations), DPO (deviations of peak of routed and actual flows) and DPOT (deviations of peak time of rented and actual outflow). Harmony Search also has the advantage that it does not require the process of assuming the initial values of design parameters. The sensitivity analysis of Harmony Memory Considering Rate showed that relatively large values of Harmony Memory Considering Rate makes the Harmony Search converse to a better solution.

사용자 머리 움직임 속도와 가상 카메라 움직임 속도 간 차이에 따른 VR 멀미 측정 (Virtual Reality Sickness Assessment based on Difference between Head Movement Velocity and Virtual Camera Motion Velocity)

  • Virtual reality (VR) sickness can have an influential effect on the viewing quality of VR 3D contents. Particularly, watching the 3D contents on a head-mounted display (HMD) could cause some severe level of visual discomfort. Despite the importance of assessing the VR sickness, most of the recent studies have focused on unveiling the reason of inducing VR sickness. In this paper, we subjectively measure the level of VR sickness induced in the viewing of omnidirectional 3D graphics contents in HMD environment. Apart from that, we propose an objective assessment model that estimates the level of induced VR sickness by calculating the difference between head movement velocity and global camera motion velocity.

  • 최근 메타버스의 등장으로 VR에 많은 관심이 집중되는 가운데, 여전히 사이버 멀미라는 해결되지 못한 문제가 있다. 사이버 멀미는 여러 요인이 있지만 본 논문은 시각 정보와 전정 정보의 불일치로 인해 발생하는 것을 주 요인으로 본다. 이러한 문제는 룸스케일 방식으로 해결될 것으로 보고, 제약된 현실 공간에서 보다 넓은 가상공간을 자유롭게 돌아다니기 위해 RDW(Redirected Walking)을 도입했다. 그러나 RDW 또한 화면을 왜곡시켜 사용자의 동선을 조정하는 것이기 때문에 왜곡률에 따라 멀미를 유발시킬 가능성이 있다. 따라서 공간활용과 왜곡률에 따른 사용자의 인식,멀미 정도를 고려할 필요가 있어 연구를 진행하게 되었다. 본 연구는 7×7m의 현실 공간을 기준으로 3가지 크기의 가상 공간에서 RDW 시스템의 회전 왜곡률과 설정된 플레이 공간의 벽에 부딪히는 횟수, 멀미도(SSQ)를 측정하고 정리하였다.

Muskingum 홍수추적을 위한 자가적응형 메타 휴리스틱 알고리즘의 적용 (Application of Self-Adaptive Meta-Heuristic Optimization Algorithm for Muskingum Flood Routing)

  • 과거 자연현상에서 발생하는 복잡한 비선형성에 따른 문제를 해결하기 위해 메타 휴리스틱 최적화 알고리즘들이 개발되었고 개발된 알고리즘의 적용성을 검토하기 위해 다양한 연구들이 진행되었다. Self-adaptive vision correction algorithm (SAVCA)는 수학 문제에서는 우수한 성능을 보여주었지만 복잡한 공학 문제들에 적용되지 않았을 뿐만 아니라 SAVCA의 적용과정에 대한 검토가 필요하다. SAVCA의 공학 문제에 대한 적용 및 적용과정에 대한 검토를 위해 최근 개발되어 우수한 성능을 보여주었던 advanced nonlinear Muskingum flood routing model (ANLMM-L)에 적용하였다. 먼저 SAVCA에 의해 초기 해집합을 생성한 후 ANLMM-L을 통해 적합도를 산출하였다. 국지탐색 및 전역탐색에 의해 선택된 새로운 값을 SAVCA에 넣고 새로운 해를 생성한 후 다시 ANLMM-L을 적용하여 적합도를 계산하였다. 새로운 해와 기존 해집합의 결과를 비교하여 개량하는 방법을 통해 마지막 연산이 진행되었다. 관측 유출량과 계산된 유출량과의 오차를 계산하기 위해 sum of squares (SSQ)가 사용되었으며 적용한 결과는 기존 방법들과 비교하였다. Muskingum 홍수추적에서 우수한 성능을 보여준 SAVCA는 다양한 공학 문제들에 적용되어 우수한 성능을 보여줄 것으로 예상된다.

지체장애인의 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Influencing Factors on HRQOL of Physically Disabled Persons)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors on health-related quality of life of physically disabled persons. Method: Data was collected from 96 persons with a physical disability in three cities in Korea from June to September, 2003. Social support and depression were measured by a Social Support Questionnaire 6 ($SSQ_6$) and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression questionnaire (CES-D). The Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale was used to measure self-esteem. Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) was measured using Smith Kline Beecham Quality of Life Scale (SBQOL). The SPSS WIN 11.0 version program was used for data analysis. Result: There were significant differences of HRQOL according to monthly income and economic status. All subjects had a high level of depression and low self-esteem. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that self-esteem and the size of the social support network are significant influencing variables on HRQOL in physically disabled persons. Nursing intervention and counseling programs which improve self-esteem and increase the size of a social support network are needed to promote HRQOL in physically disabled persons.

Visual Discomfort and Visual Fatigue: Comparing Head-Mounted Display and Smartphones

  • Objective: This study aims to evaluate visual discomfort and visual fatigue caused by watching HMD and smartphones by conducting both subjective and objective measure. Background: With the rapid development of mobile Head-Mounted Display (HMD), the problem of visual discomfort and visual fatigue caused by watching Virtual Reality (VR) contents became a crucial concern for consumers and manufacturers, especially given that the casing of mobile HMD keeps the phone at a specified distance from the lenses that is close to the eyes. Method: Two smartphones were chosen for a preliminary study: LG G5 and Galaxy S7. As for a main study, iPhone 6S and Galaxy S7 were used. After being exposed to the selected clips, participants were asked to answer Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ) and went through optometric tests that measure tear break-up time, spherical equivalent, and contrast sensitivity. Results: The subjective assessments indicate that HMD causes more visual discomfort compared to watching a smartphone. Furthermore, the experimental result confirms that watching a HMD causes more eye dryness compared to smartphones. Conclusion: The result of the study compared visual discomfort and visual fatigue of two different displays, HMD and smartphone, and confirmed that watching HMD causes more visual discomfort and visual fatigue. Application: Ultimately, this study could help manufacturers understand the strengths and weaknesses of different display forms, providing guidance for an effective application of HMD.

동적 시뮬레이터에서 Simulator Sickness와 자율신경계 반응 (Simulator Sickness and Autonomic Responses in dynamic Simulator)

  • 본 연구는 시뮬레이터 실험에서 필수적으로 발생하는 Simulator Sickness(SS)를 평가하기 위하여 동적 시뮬레이터에서 일정한 속도(60km/h)로 1시간 주행했을 때 Simulator Sickness Questionnaire(SSQ)를 이용하여 주관적 Sickness를 평가하고 생리적 반응으로 심박 변동량(HRV)과 피부온도 및 피부저항을 측정하여 성별, Simulator 수준에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과 동적 시뮬레이터에서 주행시 주관적인 Simulator Sickness는 안정에 비해 시간이 지남에 따라 45분까지 선형적으로 증가하여UT고, 여자와 sick군이 남자와 nonsick군에 비해 더 높았으며 sickness 수준간에서는 유의성이 나타났지만 남녀간의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 생리적 반응은 시간에 따른 변화는 없었으나 안정에 비해 R-R 간격의 감소, (LF+MF)/total 및 (LF+MF)/HF의 증가로부터 교감 신경이 활성화되었으며 피부온도의 감소와 피부저항의 증가로부터 긴장도가 커짐을 알 수 있었다. 주행 50분 이후는 HF/total가 감소하여 부교감 신경의 작용이 저하되는 것으로 나타났다.. 성별, sickness수준에 따라서는 남녀간에는 부분적으로 유의한 차이가 있었고 평균 R-R 간격에서만 sick군이 nonsick군보다 유의하게 낮았다.

시호가룡골모려탕(柴胡加龍骨牡蠣湯)을 이용한 발달장애 환자의 ADHD증상 관리 1례 (A case study on a patient of developmental disabilities with ADHD)

  • Objective : The purpose of this report is to submit a case study on a patient of developmental disabilities with ADHD by taking "Sihogayonggolmoryeo-tang". Methods : We gave herbal medicine to a patient and observe the progress as the way of Cornners Abbreviated Rating Scale(CARS), ADHD Rating Scale (K-ARS), The ADD-H Comprehensive Teacher's Rating Scale(ACTeRS), Child Attention Problem(CAP), IOWA Conners Rating Scale, Conners Teacher Rating Scale(CTRS), Conners Parents Rating Scale (CPRS), Home Situation Questionnaire(HSQ), School Situation Questionnaire(SSQ). Results : The total score of CARS, ACTeRS and other scales were decreased by taking herbal medicine, and especially hyperactive scores were significantly decreased. Conclusions : Patient's symptom was significantly improved by using "diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun six meridian patterns and provisions" and analyzing patient's psychological and physical conditions.

AHS에서 차량군의 속도와 거리 변화에 따른 운전자의 생체신호와 감성 평가 (The Evaluation of Driver's Physiology Signal and Sensibility according to the Change of Speed and the Gap of Platoon on AHS)

  • The one of the most important factors is the platoon design on developing AH3(Advanced Highway System), as it is related to traffic efficiency and drivers' safety. This study was evaluated that how much speed is comfortable for drivers and how long distance is appropriate for vehicular gap of platoon by measuring drivers' physiology signal and sensibility. A fixed-based AHS simulator was developed by using a real vehicle cockpit and the restructured part of Korean highway for human factors evaluation. The EEG(electroencephalogram), ECG (electrocardiogram) and GSR(Galvanic Skin Response) were measured for obtaining drivers' physiology signal according to the change of speed and gap. The brain wave(${\alpha},\;{\beta},\;{\delta},\;{\theta}$) by EEG, the response of the autonomic nervous system. the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, by ECG, and relax-arousal situation by GSR were analyzed. The SD(Semantic Differential) method was also applied to evaluate drivers' sensibility by 5-grade evaluation scale with 96 adjectives. SSQ(Simulator Sickness Questionnaire) was used to measure the simulator sickness of pre and post driving, two times. As the results, drivers were comfortable with 120km/h speed of platoon and lam to 15m vehicular distance. The results of this study may differ from the adaption of the reality because of many parameters. However, the purpose of this study is show to significant results of the drivers' safety and the acceptability of human factors evaluation.

집단적 놀이치료가 발달장애아동의 사회성 기술 향상에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Group Play Therapy of Social Skills in Children with Developmental Disorders)

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of group play therapy program on improvement of social skills of children with developmental disabilities. Methods. With 4-year children with developmental disabilities with developmental problems, group play therapy program with 16 sections, 40minutes for each section for 16 weeks was conducted, and by using Korean infant social skills test (K-SSRSP), social skills index (SSQ) between before and after applying group play therapy program on children with developmental disabilities were compared. Results. When group play therapy are applied on children with developmental disabilities, it was found that there was improvement of social skills including problem solving, emotional expression, sense of order and self-confidence. Conclusions. According to the result of this study, if more specific studies regarding group play therapy program are conducted and they can reflect on other integrated programs, then it is expected that there will be greater synergy effects on improving not only children with developmental disabilities but also social skills of them.
