This paper presents a new sensorless controller used with both the classical sliding mode observer(SMO) and the rate of current change in order to a reduced torque ripple for switched reluctance motor (SRM) sensorless drives. The new sensorless scheme consists of a sliding mode observer (SMO)-based position sensorless approach for high speeds along with a low-resolution discrete the rate of current change for low speeds and standstill. The new position estimation resets between the SMO and the low-resolution of current change according to the speed sign and the position error difference between the SMO and the low-resolution rate of current change. The simulation results show the robustness of this new high performance sensorless control approach with the hybrid sensorless control topology.
3D Equivalent magnetic Circuit Network Method (EMCNM) is comparatively the easy way that analyzes 3D models of Electric Machine by using permeance as a distributive magnetic circuit parameter under the existing magnetic equivalent circuit method and Numerical Method. The existing 3D EMCNM could not correctly describe the shape of an analysis target when using rectangular shape element or fan shape element, so it made errors when calculating permeance. Therefore, this paper proposes the trapezoidal element contained rectangular element, fan-shape element, and quadrilateral element to express a shape. The proposed method in this research was confirmed as a useful and an accurate method through comparing with the analysis result of SRM model that is sufficiently guaranteed by 2D-Analysis.
5-Hydroxytryptamine receptor 7 ($5-HT_7R$) is one of G-Protein coupled receptors, which is found to be involved in the pathophysiology of various neurological disorders including depression, sleep disorders, memory deficiency and neuropathic pain. After activation of $5-HT_7R$ by serotonin, it activates the production of the intracellular signaling molecule cyclic AMP. The availability of 3D structure of the receptor would enhance the development of new drugs. Hence, in the present study, homology modelling of human 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 7 ($5-HT_7R$) was performed using comparative modelling (Easy Modeller) and threading (I-TASSER) approaches. The generated models were validated using Ramachandran plot and ERRAT plot and the best models were selected based on the validation results. The 3D model developed here could be useful for identifying crucial residues and further docking study.

This paper describes the continuous flow operation of membraneless sodium perborate fuel cell using acid/alkaline bipolar electrolyte. Here, hydrazine is used as a fuel and sodium perborate is used as an oxidant under Alkaline-acid media configuration. Sodium perborate affords hydrogen peroxide in aqueous medium. In our operation, the laminar flow based microfluidic membranleless fuel cell achieved a maximum power density of $27.2mW\;cm^{-2}$ when using alkaline hydrazine as the anolyte and acidic perborate as the catholyte at room temperature with a fuel mixture flow rate of $0.3mL\;min^{-1}$. The simple planar structured membraneless sodium perborate fuel cell enables high design flexibility and easy integration of the microscale fuel cell into actual microfluidic systems and portable power applications.
The main advantages of DSPSRM lie in the simple robust construction, low manufacturing cost and simple driving circuit. Especially, it is possible to make shortly the axial length of DSPSRM. therefore, it is suitable to setup this motor in a narrow space. For practical use, prototype of DSPSRM was already manufactured. In this paper, we explain driving method and design driving circuit of DSPSRM. And then speed, torque and efficiency are measured. As a result of measurement, the torque was constant at normal speed and the speed was linearly increased as the current increase. Therefore, we verify that DSPSRM is suitable for low-speed fan load.

Switched reluctance motors have received much attention as a driving means for various industrial applications because they have simple construction, low cost and high efficiency. Nevertheless, the requirements of drive converters make it difficult to lower the overall system cost as compared with the DC motor application. Single phase switched reluctance motors (SPSRMs) provide a solution to the high cost problem since the number of switching power devices can be reduced and consequently the trials for application are increased. However, research involving SPSRMs, especially in the area of design work, is insufficient. This paper introduces a novel design methodology of single phase SRM. The design work for SPSRM comprises the determination of many variables such as stator and rotor pole arc as well as on, off and so on. Managing all variable combinations leads to lengthy computation time and a fault in the design process. For that reason, a reliable technique and brief procedure term are required in SPSRM design.
Soft magnetic composite (SMC) material has recently received a significant attention in the area of high-speed machines because of its unique properties such as good design flexibility and low eddy current loss. However, SMC's electromagnetic property is poor compared to silicon steel in terms of saturation, relative permeability, and hysteresis loss. This paper presents a technique for utilization of SMC in two strategic designs of a switched reluctance machine (SRM) depending on a loss pattern. To investigate the effect of SMC's merits and demerits, the stator material is changed from laminated steel to SMC.
The objective of the present work is to evaluate the influence of two different methods of improving the ductility of Reinforced Concrete Frames and their influence on the full range behavior of the frames with M40 grade of concrete. For this purpose one fourth scale reinforced concrete square frames are experimentally tested subjected to static cyclic loading for three cases and monotonic loading for one case. The parameters are varied as method introducing ductility to the frame viz. (i) by using conventional concrete (ii) adding 1% of steel fibres by volume of concrete at hinging zones (iii) using self-compacting concrete with fibres at hinging zones. The energy absorption by ductile and non-ductile frames has been compared. The behavior of frames tested under cyclic loading have revealed that there is a positive trend in improvement of ductility of frames when fibrous concrete is used along with self-compacting concrete.
