In order to investigate the adsorption characteristics for Sr ion using the Na-X zeolite synthesized from coal fly ash, batch tests and response surface analyses were carried out. The adsorption kinetic data for Sr ions, using Na-X zeolite, fitted well with the pseudo-second-order model. The uptake of Sr ions followed the Langmuir isotherm model, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 196.46 mg/g. Thermodynamic studies were conducted at different reaction temperatures, with the results indicating that Sr ion adsorption by Na-X zeolite was an endothermic (${\Delta}H^o$>0) and spontaneous (${\Delta}G^o$<0) process. Using the response surface methodology of the Box-Behnken method, initial Sr ion concentration ($X_1$), initial temperature ($X_2$), and initial pH ($X_3$) were selected as the independent variables, while the adsorption of Sr ions by Na-X zeolite was selected as the dependent variable. The experimental data fitted well with a second-order polynomial equation by multiple regression analysis. The value of the determination coefficient ($R^2=0.9937$) and the adjusted determination coefficient (adjusted $R^2=0.9823$) was close to 1, indicating high significance of the model. Statistical results showed the order of Sr removal based on experimental factors to be initial pH > initial concentration > temperature.
$Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$-doped $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7$ powders were synthesized using a solid-state reaction method with flux ($NH_4Cl$). The broad photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ were assigned to the $4f^7-4f^65d$ transition of the $Eu^{2+}$ ions, showing strong intensities in the range of 375 to 425 nm. A single emission band was observed at 470 nm, which was the result of two overlapping subbands at 468 and 507 nm owing to Eu(I) and Eu(II) sites. The strongest emission intensity of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ was obtained at the Eu concentration of 3 mol%. This concentration quenching mechanism was attributable to dipole-dipole interaction. The $Ba^{2+}$ substitution for $Sr^{2+}$ caused a blue-shift of the emission band; this behavior was discussed by considering the differences in ionic size and covalence between $Ba^{2+}$ and $Sr^{2+}$. The effects of the Eu/Dy ratios on the phosphorescence of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$ were investigated by measuring the decay time; the longest afterglow was obtained for $0.01Eu^{2+}/0.03Dy^{3+}$.

The influence of CuO addition on what of the $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ ceramics was studied. The sintering temperature of $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ ceramics was lowered by the addition of CuO additives. The 1 - 5 wt% CuO were selected and employed as the sintering aids. Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic technologies are popular technologies used in the manufacture of microwave devices. In this study, crystalline and electrical properties of CuO doped $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ ceramics were investigated to determine the low temperature sintering properties. The addition of CuO to $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ lowered the sintering temperature from $1350^{\circ}C$ to $1150^{\circ}C$. The dependence of the sintering temperature shrinkage rate and mechanism of CuO doped $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ ceramics are investigated and discussed. Also, the crystalline structure of CuO - doped $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ ceramics is discussed by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) method.
A $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor powder with stuffed tridymite structure was synthesized by glycine-nitrate combustion method. The luminescence, formation process and microstructure of the phosphor powder were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The XRD patterns show that the as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor was an amorphous phase. However, a crystalline $SrAl_2O_4 $ phase was formed by calcining at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 4h. From the SEM analysis, also, it was found that the as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor was in irregular porous particles of about 50 ${\mu}m$, while the calcined phosphor was aggregated in spherical particles with radius of about 0.5 ${\mu}m$. The emission spectrum of as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor did not appear, due to the amorphous phase. However, the emission spectrum of the calcined phosphor was observed at 520 nm (2.384eV); it showed green emission peaking, in the range of 450~650 nm. The excitation spectrum of the $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor exhibits a maximum peak intensity at 360 nm (3.44eV) in the range of 250~480 nm. After the removal of the pulse Xe-lamp excitation (360 nm), also, the decay time for the emission spectrum was very slow, which shows the excellent longphosphorescent property of the phosphor, although the decay time decreased exponentially.

$Ba_{1-x}Sr_xTiO_3$ thin films with various ratio of Sr (X = 0.4, 0.5, 0.6) were grown $Pt/TiN/SiO_2/Si$ subastrate by RF magnetron sputtering deposition. As, Ag, and Cu films were deposited on $Ba_{1-x}Sr_xTiO_3$ thin films as top electrodes by using a thermal evaporator. The electrical properties of $Ba_{1-x}Sr_xTiO_3$ thin films for various compositions were characterized and the physical properties at interface between $Ba_{1-x}Sr_xTiO_3$ thin films and top electrodes were evaluated in terms of the work function difference. At x =0.5, the degradation of capacitance is lower to the other compositions. As negative biasapplied, the specimen with Cu top electrode has board saturation region and low leakage current since work function of Cu is bigger than other electrodes.$ Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$ thin films with Cu top electrode, the dielectric constant was measured to the value of 354 at 1 kHz and the leakage current was obtained to the value of $5.26\times10^{-6}A/cm2$ at the forward bias of 2 V.

In this study, (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ thin films were etched with $Cl_2$/Ar gas mixing ratio in an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) by varying the etching parameter such as rf power, dc bias voltage, and chamber pressure. The etch rate was 56 nm/min under $Cl_2$/($Cl_2$+Ar) gas mixing ratio of 0.2, rf power of 600 W, dc bias voltage of 250 V, and chamber pressure of 5 mTorr. At this time, the selectivity of BST to Pt, $SiO_2$ was respectively 0.52, 0.43. The surface reaction of the etched (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ thin films was investigated with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Ba is removed by chemical reaction between Sr and Cl to remove Sr. Ti is removed by chemical reaction such as $TiCl_4$ with ease. The results of secondary ion mass spectrometer (SIMS) analysis compared with the results of XPS analysis and the results were the same.
The effects of Sr and (Ti-B) additives on the tensile properties of AC4A recycled (35% scrap content) aluminum alloys were investigated. An acicular morphology of the eutectic Si phase of as-cast specimens was converted to a fibrous morphology upon the addition of Sr. Moreover, morphology of the Sr modified eutectic Si phase became finer due to a T6 heat treatment. The grain size of the ${\alpha}$-solid solution was decreased by the addition of (Ti-B) additives. Depending on the treatment conditions of the as-cast specimens, i.e., no addition, a Sr addition and a (Ti-B)+Sr addition, the tensile strength levels of the as-cast specimens were 182, 192, and 204MPa, respectively. The corresponding strengths of T6 heat-treated specimens were 293, 308, and 318MPa. Elongations of the as-cast specimens were 2.2, 3.1, and 5.6%, and the corresponding elongations of the T6 heat-treated specimens were 4.6, 6.1, and 7.6%. The percentage of the reduced section area in the tensile specimens was also increased by the Sr and (Ti-B) additives. Sr and (Ti-B) additives changed the microstructure and the distribution of defects in the castings, resulting in an improvement of the tensile properties of AC4A aluminum alloys. According to our test results, recycled (35% scrap content) AC4A aluminum alloy met all of the KS requirements of the tensile strength and elongation values of AC4A aluminum alloy except for the elongation value of the one specimen condition, in this case the as-cast no-addition condition.
Cu-free multi-component sol, of which final oxide composition becomes $Bi_{1.9}Pb{0.35}SrCaO,\;Bi_{1.8}Pb_{0.2}SrCaO\;and\;Bi_{1.5}SrCaO$, respectively, was prepared through sol-gel route and coated on a bare Cu substrate. Starting materials were metal-alkoxides as follows.; [$Bi(OC_{2}H_{5})_{3}\;Pb(O^{1}C_{3}H_{7})_{2},\;Sr(O^{i}C_{3}H_{7})_{2},\;Ca(OC_{2}H_{5})_{2}$] as a reagent grade. Transparent light yellowish sol was obtained in the case of $Bi_{1.9}Pb_{0.35}SrCaO\;and\;Bi_{1.8}Pb_{0.2}SrCaO$ composition and $Bi_{1.5}SrCaO$ composition's sol was light greenish. Each sol was repeatedly dip-coated on Cu substrate four times and pre-heated at $400^{\circ}C$ and finally heat-treated in the range of $740{\sim}900^{\circ}C$. In the results, crystalline phases confirmed by XRD were (2201) orthorhombic and monoclinic phases. However, only $Bi_{1.9}Pb_{0.35}SrCaO_{x}$ composition showed pseudo-superconductive behavior after heat-treatment at $900^{\circ}C$ for 12 seconds and then onset temperature was 77 K, even though it did not exhibit zero resistance below Tc.
This study investigated the influence of air staging on combustion and NOx emission in a tangential-firing boiler at a 560 MWe capacity. For air staging, the stoichiometric ratio (SR) for the burner zone was varied from 0.995 to 0.94 while the overall value was fixed at 1.2. The temperature and heat flux in the burner zone and upper furnace corresponded to the distribution of SR, while the total boiler efficiency remained similar. The NOx emission at the furnace exit was reduced by up to 20% when the SR in the burner zone decreased to 0.94. However, the amount of unburned carbon and slagging propensity was not noticeably influenced by the changes in the SR of the burner zone. Therefore, it was favorable to lower the SR of the burner zone for reduction of NOx emission.
In this study, green barium strontium silicate phosphor ($BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$) was synthesized using a solid-state reaction method in air and reducing atmosphere. Investigation of the firing temperature indicates that a single phase of $BaSrSiO_4$ is formed when the firing temperature is higher than $1400^{\circ}C$. The effect of firing temperature and doping concentration on luminescent properties are investigated. The light-emitting property was the best when the molar content of $Eu_2O_3$ was 0.025 mol. Also, the luminescent brightness of the $BaSrSiO_4$ fluorescent substance was the best when the particle size of the barium was $0.5{\mu}m$. $BaSrSiO_4$ phosphors exhibit the typical green luminescent properties of $Eu^{3+}$ and $Eu^{2+}$. The characteristics of the synthesized $BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$ phosphor were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy. The maximum emission band of the $BaSrSiO_4:Eu^{3+}$, $Eu^{2+}$ was 520 nm.
