  • 기존의 데이타베이스 시스템에서 주요 성능문제는 대부분 응용프로그램의 SQL문에서 발생한다. 특히 다중 테이블을 이용한 SQL문에서 필수적으로 사용하는 JOIN 연산이 단순 질의 연산에 비해 많은 성능 문제점을 갖고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 관계형 데이타베이스시스템에서 JOIN연산의 효율성을 높이기 위한 방안을 설정하고 이를 적용해 본다.

  • We often use the KCID(Korean Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary) and ICID(International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary) within cosmetics research and within their export and import. so far, we do not have a database of a cosmetics' raw materials. Because of this, we consume a lot of time to find the raw material data that is needed. This study constructs a cosmetics' raw material database and develops the program to retrieve it. We used a Linux machine as the equipment for this study and we used Apache web server, MySQL database server and PHP as the tools of this study. 11,817 kinds of raw materials data were registered as ICID, 866 kinds of raw materials data were registered as KCID and 28,008 kinds of raw materials data with registered trade name into the database. Also, The database was composed of the database of the association form. The database of the online form could ultimately reduce the task time as soon as it did its purpose. The product of this study can become a good basis of data to reconfigure. In the future, it can become a good database in relation with different databases.

  • Nowadays, the study on XML as a standard method of exchange of information is active as Internet technology develops. This thesis designs and implements XML documents storage system using uniSQL/X in object-relational database. The system takes advantage of the merits of object-oriented databases, so that the structural information of XML documents can be effectively represented. The system uses split-storage method to allow frequent modifications of XML documents and suggests DTD-independent model so that it can store XML documents without DTD. And retrieval speed is improved by solving the issue of data duplication.

  • 웹을 이용한 클라이언트-서버 데이타베이스 시스템은 웹의 서비스 능력과 데이타베이스 시스템의 데이타 관리 기능을 상호 보완적으로 통합함으로써 인터넷과 같은 대규모 환경에서 데이타베이스 업무 환경을 구축하는 데 매우 적합한 것으로 알려져 있다. 데이타베이스 통로는 이러한 통합의 가장 핵심적 구성 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 클라이언트-서버 데이타베이스 응용을 위한 데이타베이스 통로의 고려사항으로서, 고성능 실행구조, 응용 프로그램 개발 환경, 그리고 상태 및 트랜잭션 관리에 대해 기술하고, 이어서 UniSQL/X용 데이타베이스 통로인 UniWeb 2.0의 설계와 구현에 대하여 소개한다. UniWeb 2.0은 CGI 응용 서버 방식을 채택하여 다양한 플랫폼을 지원하고, 고성능 그리고 확장성을 제공한다. 또한 프로그래머가 HTML 문서에 SQL/X문장이 포함된 Tcl 스크립트를 끼워 넣을 수 있도록 하여 응용 프로그램 개발 생산성을 향상시키고 있다. UniWeb 2.0은 여러 웹 페이지에 걸친 상태 와 트랜잭션을 지원하고 있다.

XML Gateway Design and Implementation for Legacy Databases (Legacy 데이터베이스를 위한 XML Gateway 설계 및 구현)

  • Method of designing and implementing the XML Gateway is proposed for supporting the data movement between the Legacy databases. XML technologies, Oracle XML Utility, and JDeveloper are used for this purpose. The data in Legacy database are extracted by XSQL pages, parsed, transformed by XSL, and finally saved by XMLHttprequest object of XSQL servlet. With the help of the implemented system, an assigned operator does not have to handle the database with the SQL*Plus tools. In addition, the data movement is easily carried out by using the familiar Web interface offered by system.

  • In these days, application systems for processing information using database is increasing. Enterprises holding a lot of data do not possess needed data but instead include unrelated, independent and individual data. As a result, it only contains disparate data. Disparate data is ambiguous and it does not support current integrated information. In response to the above problems, data warehouse may provide a solution. Building a data warehouse needs a systematic design because of its complexity. This paper describes an efficient design methodology using visual environment for data warehouse to cope with the requirements of end users. Also, the system is able to process existential SQL query.

BioSubroutine: an Open Web Server for Bioinformatics Algorithms and Subroutines

  • We present BioSubroutine, an open depository server that automatically categorizes various subroutines frequently used in bioinformatics research. We processed a large bioinformatics subroutine library called Bio.pl that was the first Bioperl subroutine library built in 1995. Over 1000 subroutines were processed automatically and an HTML interface has been created. BioSubroutine can accept new subroutines and algorithms from any such subroutine library, as well as provide interactive user forms. The subroutines are stored in an SQL database for quick searching and accessing. BioSubroutine is an open access project under the BioLicense license scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자가 원하는 주제를 통해 전시장을 추천, 등록, 조회하는 Microsoft Bot Framework, Microsoft Azure 기반의 챗봇을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 챗봇은 사용자가 원하는 주제를 입력하면, 해당하는 주제의 전시장을 추천하게 된다. 주제는 알고리즘으로 단어를 지정한 것이 아닌, Azure Luis로 단어를 학습시켜서 비슷한 주제의 단어를 도출하는 알고리즘을 선택한다. 등록 부분은 Form 형식이 아닌 대화형으로 사용자 정보를 수집하게 된다. 사용자 정보는 Microsoft SQL Database 서버에 저장이 되고, 구현한 챗봇은 애뮬레이터 형식이 아닌 Channel 연동으로 Line 서비스로 배포한다.

  • Many people are the latest interested in the integration of the WWW and database systems. The UCM(United CGI Management) system, which is proposed on this study, is based on the method using CGI that does not change existing servers and clients to integrate the WWW and database system. Since the CGI executable architecture executes a CGI program whenever the database is accessed, the system performance is reduced greatly when many request to the database are made simultaneously. However, the UCM system improves the system performance since it uses the integrated CGI running a daemon process. Moreover, the proposed system can use the WWW database more economically and doesn't use the SQL because it does not use a DBMS. In UCM system, we define the extended HTML tags to implement the WWW database interface and use the EXODUS storage manager for accessing the database.

  • As semiconductor memory becomes cheaper, the memory capacity of computer system is increasing. Therefore computer system has sufficient memory for a plentiful spatial data. With emerging spatial application required high performance, this paper presents a GIS database system in main memory. Memory residence can provide both functionality and performance for a database management system. This paper describes design of DBMS for storing, querying, managing and analyzing for spatial and non-spatial data in main-memory. This memory resident GIS DBMS supports SQL for spatial query, spatial data model, spatial index and interface for GIS tool or applications.
