  • The information exchange on the using of XML such as B2B electronic is common. So the efficient method to store XML message in database is needed. Because the ORDBMS is extended to ORDBMS for supporting multimedia application such as Oracle8i, 9i, Informix and SQL2000 server, SQL2, the standard RDB is extended to SQL3 for ORDB, And the XML application based on java such as J2EE is extended. Therefor it is necessary for the efficient connection methods based on JDBC between XML application and database system. In this paper, the methodology a transformation XML DTD to SQL3 schema is proposed. For the transformation, first the methods of transformation XML DTD to object model in UML class diagram are proposed. And then the methods of mapping transferred object models to SQL3 schema are proposed. This approach for transform::1lion XML. DTD to SQL3 schema such as Oracle8i, 9i, Informix and SQL2000 server based on java is proposed in this paper, can be used in database design to build XML applications based on ORDB.

  • Recently, big data applications need another database different from the Relation database. NoSQL databases are used to save and handle massive amounts of data. NoSQL databases have many advantages over traditional databases like flexibility, efficiently processing data, scalability, and dynamic schemas. Most of the current applications are based on the web, and the size of data is in increasing. NoSQL databases are expected to be used on a more and large scale in the future. However, NoSQL suffers from many security issues, and one of them is access control. Many recent applications need Fine-Grained Access control (FGAC). The integration of the NoSQL databases with FGAC will increase their usability in various fields. It will offer customized data protection levels and enhance security in NoSQL databases. There are different NoSQL database models, and a document-based database is one type of them. In this research, we choose the CouchDB NoSQL document database and develop an access control mechanism that works at a fain-grained level. The proposed mechanism uses role-based access control of CouchDB and restricts read access to work at the document level. The experiment shows that our mechanism effectively works at the document level in CouchDB with good execution time.

  • Test environment on the company that handles a large amount of data such as telecommunications companies and financial institutions, may not always be the same as the production environment, which is caused by conversion of important columns about information and limitation of storage capacity due to the construction cost. Therefore, SQL performance degradation that occurs when the test and production environments are not the same, which is an important cause of connecting to the unexpected failures of online transactions, and it generates financial loss of business, customer complaints, a decrease in reliability. In studies related SQL performance, it has so far been conducted mainly studies of tuning associated with DBMS Optimizer, and it has not been addressed issues of this sector. Therefore, in this paper, I verify the validity about presentation of the advanced SQL Performance-based IT application change management process, in order to prevent failures of the online transactions associated with poor performance of SQL generated by differences in test and production environments.

  • Traditionally, Geographical Information Systems can only process spatial data in a procedure-oriented way, and the data can't be treated integrally. This method limits the development of spatial data applications. A new and promising method to solve this problem is the spatial structural query language, which extends SQL and provides integrated accessing to spatial data. In this paper, the theory of spatial structural query language is discussed, and a new geographical data model based on the concepts and data model in OGIS is introduced. According to this model, we implemented a spatial structural query language G/SQL. Through the studies of the 9-Intersection Model, G/SQL provides a set of topological relational predicates and spatial functions for GIS application development. We have successfully developed a Web-based GIS system-WebGIS-using G/SQL. Experiences show that the spatial operators G/SQL offered are complete and easy-to-use. The BNF representation of G/SQL syntax is included in this paper.

  • Recently, demands for high-performance flash-based storage devices (i.e., flash SSD) have rapidly grown in social network services, cloud computing, super-computing, and enterprise storage systems. The industry and academic communities made the NVMe specification for high-performance storage devices, and NVMe-based flash SSDs can be now obtained in the market. In this article, we evaluate performance of NoSQL databases that social network services and cloud computing services heavily adopt by using NVMe-based flash SSDs. To this end, we use NVMe SSD that Samsung Electronics recently developed, and the SSD used in this study has performance up to 3.5GB/s for sequential read/write operations. We use WiredTiger for NoSQL databases, and it is a default storage engine for MongoDB. Our experimental results show that log processing in NoSQL databases is a major overhead when high-performance NVMe-based flash SSDs are used. Furthermore, we optimize components of log processing and optimized WiredTiger show up to 15 times better performance than original WiredTiger.

  • As the use of open source databases grows, so does need to evaluate, the performance of search queries for these databases. This paper compares the search query performance of SQL-based open source databases with commercial databases through experiments. The targets are MySql, MariaDB, and MS-SQL Server. In this study, the execution time of various types of search queries are measured. Also, search query performance was experimented according to change of index and number of tuples. Experimental results show that SQL-based open source databases have the potential to replace commercial databases when indexes are used and the number of tuples is not very large.

  • As being the advanced analytics indispensable on big data for agile decision-making and tactical planning in enterprises, distributed processing platforms, such as Hadoop and Spark which distribute and handle the large volume of data on multiple nodes, receive great attention in the field. In Spark platform stack, Spark SQL unveiled recently to make Spark able to support distributed processing framework based on SQL. However, Spark SQL cannot effectively handle advanced analytics that involves machine learning and graph processing in terms of iterative tasks and task allocations. Motivated by these issues, this paper proposes the design of SQL-based big data optimal processing engine and processing framework to support advanced analytics in Spark environments. Big data optimal processing engines copes with complex SQL queries that involves multiple parameters and join, aggregation and sorting operations in distributed/parallel manner and the proposing framework optimizes machine learning process in terms of relational operations.

  • As the importance of information audit is getting bigger, the public corporations invest many expenses at information system audit to build a high quality system. For this purpose, there are much research to proceed an audit effectively. In database audit works, it could audit utilizing a variety of monitoring tools. However, when auditing SQLs which might be affected to database performance, there are several limits related to SQL audit functionality. For this reason, most existing monitoring tools process based on meta information, it is difficult to proceed SQL audit works if there is no meta data or inaccuracy. Also, it can't detect problems by analysis of SQL's syntax structure. In this paper, we design and implement the SQL Inspector using ANTLR which is applied by syntax analysis technique. The overall conclusion is that the implemented SQL Inspector can work effectively much more than eye-checked way. Finally, The SQL inspector which we proposed can apply much more audit rules by compared with other monitoring tools. We expect the higher stability of information system to apply SQL Inspector from development phase to the operation phase.

  • With a variety of data types and high utilization of data, non-relational databases are a popular data storage because it supports better availability and scalability. The increasing use of this technology also brings the risk of NoSQL injection attacks. Existing works mostly discuss the rule-based detection of NoSQL injection attacks that it is hard to deal with NoSQL queries beyond the coverage of the rules. In this paper, we propose a model for detecting NoSQL injection attacks. Our model is based on deep learning algorithms that select features from NoSQL queries using CNN, and classify NoSQL queries using RNN. Also, we experiment the proposed model to compare with existing models, and find that our model outperforms traditional models in terms of detection rate.

  • This paper describes how to storing and querying trajectory information on PostgreSQL/PostGIS. Recently as technology of mobile devices is advancing, many researches for location-based services and moving object's trajectory have been studied. Trajectory is the set of information of the location by the time, and is one of the most im portant information for location-based services. Traditional spatial database systems do not support trajectory data types and functions. In this paper, we propose a trajectory data type and query functions for moving objects on PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
