  • The effect of dispersion in optical transmission system changes according to chirp and SPM. Chirp depends on the modulation condition of an external modulator. SPM is proportional to signal power. In this paper, we analyzed the pulse broadening due to SPM and chirp in the system with dispersion by using Split Step Fourier Method and calculated the optimum chirp parameter for 400 km transmission system. Experimental results are presented also.

So that it is necessary to propose the new standard about how to maneuvering area actually. Now our country is at the blank stage about the establishment of SPM research Most of the situations refer to overseas standards. But these standards lack consistency and clarity. So when moving to the another safe place from SPM, we must Carry through the research and study on the ships using sailing through AIS Data We must put forward a new standard about maneuvering area of ships moving at SPM.

  • The recent increase in crude oil trading has led to an increase in the workings of SPM for crude oil carriers. VLCCs generally encounter difficulty entering port due to limitations in terms of sea depth and maneuverability. The SPM is a system that allows mooring to the buoy located in the outer sea for such vessels. However, the buoy is more affected by relatively external forces because of their of shore location. Therefore, the safety assessment of SPM is particularly important as it can lead to large oil pollution disasters in the event of SPM accidents. Despite this, in the implementation of the Marine Traffic Safety Audit Scheme in Korea, there exists no guidance for SPM. In this study, a SPM mooring safety assessment is performed using OPTIMOOR, a numerical analysis program, so as to understand the mooring characteristics of SPM. As a result, it is confirmed that the tension of mooring lines and hull movement in the SPM are greatly affected by the encounter angles with external forces. In addition, it is found that the maximum tension of the mooring line is elevated as the water depth becomes shallower through sensitivity analysis. According to SPM characteristics, which has a large influence on the encounter angle, this study has proposed an amendment to setting criteria in the implementation of the Maritime Traffic Safety Audit Scheme which could improve the reliability and accuracy of mooring safety assessments.

  • This study is to investigate the problem of the SPM(Skin Pass Mil7) system which is a finishing treatment of steel sheet. and to develop a PID control scheme to minimize process instability. An electrohydraulic servo system with conventional proportional controller used to regulate the force on the strip works inadequately to yield very undesirable transient responses at the moments welding parts of the strip conte into and pass through the rolls. Both linearized and nonlinear models of a typical SPM system ware simulated first by using Simulink. Then Ziegler-Nichols ultimate cycling method was used for an initial reference guide to tune PID gains, and further fine tuning was performed to get desirable response. The test result in the plant show that proposed PID control scheme successfully improves the process instability in a SPM system.

  • SPM is MDC Processor for string pattern expressed in directional chain code. In this paper we consider the string pattern matching algorithm (Leve-nstein Algorithm) whitch is portion of Dynamic Programing, and propose architecture of SPM and simulate it on the R-T level to evaluate its architecture. We used the C language as the hardware description language, and developed it on the IBM PC/AT Zenix system V OS environment.

  • SPM, which is an abbreviation of Single Point Mooring, also called as SBM(Single Buoy Mooring), is a special buoy besides the quays of the harbor for mooring ships, and is normally a 3m wide cone or cylinder shaped steel drum fixed underwater so it won't move, and is used for mooring cargo-work at outer port by laid-up ships and large crude oil carrier.   • Development of a versatile nanomanipulation tool is an overarching theme in nanotechnology. Such a tool will likely revolutionize the field given that it will enable fabrication and operation of a wealth of interesting nanodevices. This study seeks funding to create a novel nanomanipulation system with the ultimate goal of using this system for nanomanufacturing at the molecular level. The proposed design differs from existing approaches. It is based on a nanoscale ion trap integrated to a scanning prove microscope (SPM) tip. In this design, molecules to be assembled will be ionized and collected in the nanoscale ion trap all in an ultra high vacuum (UHV) environment. Once filled with the molecular ions, the nanoscale ion trap-SPM tip will be moved on a substrate surface using scanning probe microscopy techniques. The molecular ions will be placed at their precise locations on the surface. By virtue of the SPM, the devices that are being nanomanufactured will be imaged in real time as the molecular assembly process is carried out. In the later stages, automation of arrays of these nanomanipulators will be developed.

  • Thermal simulation of typical stack-type and newly proposed planar-type micro-gas sensors were studied by FEM method. The thermal analyses for the proposed planar structure including temperatur distribution over the sensing layer and power consumption of the heater were carried using finite element method by computer simulation and well compared with those of typical stack-type micro-gas sensor. The thermal properties of the microsensor from thermal simulation were compared with those of a actual device to investigate the acceptability of the computer simulation.

  • 현재 많은 임베디드 SoC(System-On-Chip)에는 캐시 메모리의 단점을 보완하기 위해 온-칩(On-Chip) SRAM, 즉, SPM(Scratchpad Memory)를 내장하고 있으며 SPM은 그 특성상 캐시 메모리와 달리 소프트웨어가 직접 관리해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 NUMA를 지원하는 Linux 상에서 이식성이 높으면서 단순하게 구현할 수 있는 SPM 관리 방법을 제안한다.
