In this paper, a parallel analysis algorithm for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), one of the numerical methods for fluidic materials, is introduced. SPH, which is a meshless method, can represent the behavior of a continuum using a particle-based approach, but it demands substantial computational resources. Therefore, parallel analysis algorithms are essential for SPH simulations. The domain decomposition algorithm, which divides the computational domain into partitions to be independently analyzed, is the most representative method among parallel analysis algorithms. In Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Molecular Dynamics (MD), the Cartesian coordinate-based domain decomposition method is popularly used because it offers advantages in quickly and conveniently accessing particle positions. However, in SPH, it is important to share particle information among partitioned domains because SPH particles are defined based on information from nearby particles within the smoothing length. Additionally, maintaining CPU load balance is crucial. In this study, a highly parallel efficient algorithm is proposed to dynamically minimize the size of orthogonal domain partitions to prevent excess CPU utilization. The efficiency of the proposed method was validated through numerical analysis models. The parallel efficiency of the proposed method is evaluated for up to 30 CPUs for fluidic models, achieving 90% parallel efficiency for up to 28 physical cores.
In this study, a polyhedral domain decomposition method for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) analysis is introduced. SPH which is one of meshless methods is a numerical analysis method for fluid flow simulation. It can be useful for analyzing fluidic soil or fluid-structure interaction problems. SPH is a particle-based method, where increased particle count generally improves accuracy but diminishes numerical efficiency. To enhance numerical efficiency, parallel processing algorithms are commonly employed with the Cartesian coordinate-based domain decomposition method. However, for parallel analysis of complex geometric shapes or fluidic problems under dynamic boundary conditions, the Cartesian coordinate-based domain decomposition method may not be suitable. The introduced polyhedral domain decomposition technique offers advantages in enhancing parallel efficiency in such problems. It allows partitioning into various forms of 3D polyhedral elements to better fit the problem. Physical properties of SPH particles are calculated using information from neighboring particles within the smoothing length. Methods for sharing particle information physically separable at partitioning and sharing information at cross-points where parallel efficiency might diminish are presented. Through numerical analysis examples, the proposed method's parallel efficiency approached 95% for up to 12 cores. However, as the number of cores is increased, parallel efficiency is decreased due to increased information sharing among cores.
This study investigated the effect of soy protein hydrolysates (SPH) prepared by varying subcritical media on the physicochemical properties of pork patties. For resource of SPH, two different soybean species (Glycine max Merr.) of Daewonkong (DWK) and Saedanbaek (SDB) were selected. SPH was prepared by subcritical processing at 190℃ and 25 MPa under three different of media (water, 20% ethanol and 50% ethanol). Solubility and free amino group content revealed that water was better to yield larger amount of SPH than ethanol/water mixtures, regardless of species. Molecular weight (Mw) distribution of SPH was also similar between two species, while slightly different Mw distribution was obtained by subcritical media. For pork patty application, 50% ethanol treatment showed clear red color comparing to control after 14 d of storage. In addition, ethanol treatment had better oxidative stability than control and water treatment based on thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) analysis. For eating quality, although 20% ethanol treatment in SDB showed slightly higher cooking loss than control, generally addition of SPH did not affect the water-binding properties and hardness of pork patties. Consequently, the present study indicated that 50% ethanol was the best subcritical media to produce SPH possessing antioxidant activity, and the SPH produced from DWK exhibited better antioxidant activity than that produced SDB.
We present 2D- photometric decompositions of ~1,200 nearby dwarf galaxies. Our representative sample is derived from 'A catalog of Visually classified galaxies in the Local Universe'(Ann, Seo and Ha APJS,,,2015) of which galaxy morphological types are determined by visual inspection of color images using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey data release 7. In this catalog, dwarf galaxies were divided into 5 subtypes : dS0, dE, dSph, dEbc, dEblue with distinction of the presence of nucleation in dE, dSph, and dS0. The dSph types are less brighter than other types, and galaxies with nuclei are slightly brighter than those with no nuclei in the same types. Sersic index n have a range 1~1.5, and $dE_{un}$ and $dSph_{un}$ galaxies have n less than 1, and $dSph_n$ galaxies have largest values. We performed two-dimensional decomposition of galaxies using GALFIT, and analyzed their structural components, and residual features which are seen in the residual image.
Systematic sensitivity analysis of smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH), a gridless Lagrangian particle method, was carried out in this study. Unlike traditional grid-based numerical schemes, systematic sensitivity study for computational parameters is very limited for SPH. In this study, the effect of computational parameters in SPH simulation is explored through two-dimensional dam-breaking and sloshing problem. The parameters to be considered are the speed of sound, the type of kernel function, the frequency of density re-initialization, particle number, smoothing length and pressure extraction method. Through a series of numerical test, detailed information was obtained about how SPH solution can be more stabilized and improved by adjusting computational parameters.

This paper describes the development of SPH(Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics) scheme and integration into the multi-material shock physics code(ExLO) for the purpose of the application to the extreme large deformation problems. SPH numerical scheme has been extended into the fluid dynamics and the high-speed impact events, such as space structure protection against space debris and meteorite catering. Like other hydrocodes, SPH scheme also solves the conservation equations with the constitutive equation including equation of state. The benchmark problem, Taylor-Impact test, was simulated and the predictions show good agreements with both the published numerical data and experimental data. Currently, the contact treatment between materials is under development.

SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) is a gridless Lagrangian technique that is useful as an alternative numerical analysis method used to analyze high deformation problems as well as astrophysical and cosmological problems. In SPH, all points within the support of the kernel are taken as neighbours. The accuracy of the SHP is highly influenced by the method for choosing neighbours from all particle points considered. Typically a linked-list method or tree search method has been used as an effective tool because of its conceptual simplicity, but these methods have some liability in anisotropy situations. In this study, convex hull algorithm is presented as an improved method to eliminate this artifact. A convex hull is the smallest convex set that contains a certain set of points or a polygon. The selected candidate neighbours set are mapped into the new space by an inverse square mapping, and extract a convex hull. The neighbours are selected from the shell of the convex hull. These algorithms are proved by Fortran programs. The programs are expected to use as a searching algorithm in the future SPH program.
Based on the observation that ignoring the angle dependency of multigroup resonance cross sections within a fuel pellet would result in nontrivial underestimation of the spatial self-shielding of flux, a parametrized spectral superhomogenization (SPH) factor library (PSSL) method is developed as a practical means of resolving the problem. Region-wise spectral SPH factors are calculated by the normal and transport corrected SPH iterations after ultrafine group slowing down calculations over various light water reactor pin-cell configurations. The parametrization is done with fuel temperature, U-238 number density, fuel radius, moderator source represented by ${\Sigma}_{mod}V_{mod}$, and the number density ratio of resonance nuclides to that of U-238 in a form of resonance interference correction factors. The parametrization is successful in that the root mean square errors of the interpolated SPH factors over the fuel regions of various pin-cells are within 0.1%. The improvement in reactivity error of the PSSL method is shown to be superior to that by the original SPH method in that the reactivity bias of -200 pcm to -300 pcm vanishes almost completely. It is demonstrated that the environment effect takes only about 4% in the reactivity improvement so that the pin-cell based PSSL method is effective in the assembly problems.

In this study, we investigate the dispersion behavior of debris and debris cloud generated by high-velocity impacts using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) technique. The projectile and target plate were made of aluminum, and we confirm the validity of the SPH technique by comparing the measured major and minor axis lengths of the debris cloud in the reference with the predicted values obtained through the SPH analysis. We perform high-velocity impact and fracture analysis based on the verified SPH technique within the velocity ranges of 1.5~4 km/s, and we evaluate the dispersion behavior of debris induced by the impact in terms of its kinetic energy. The maximum dispersion radius of the debris on the witness plates located behind the target plate was increased with increasing impact velocity. We derive an empirical equation that is capable of predicting the dispersion radius, and we found that 95% of the total kinetic energy of the debris was concentrated within 50% of the maximum dispersion radius.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to critically review the recent discourse on single-person households (SPH) that appeared in Korean newspapers. Specifically, we analyzed articles in five major daily newspapers, which are representative of the media in Korean society, and examined the types of titles, subjects, and contents of articles in which SPH were mentioned. Method: For this purpose, 538 articles on SPH or "living alone" that appeared in the five major Korean newspapers during 2011-2017 were analyzed using content analysis methods. Results: Our analysis revealed eight major topics(living arrangement and household characteristics; financial instruments; food, clothing, and housing culture; policy; welfare; relationships; safety; values and attitudes). The results show that there is a surge of articles portraying neutral images of SPH in Korean newspapers, thereby emphasizing the recent growth in the number of SPH and the information relating to this population group. Although negative images of SPH continue to exist in the discourse, in recent times we found these attitudes to have become less prevalent compared to neutral images or even positive discourse. We also found that the discourse on these topics and arguments can be divided into four themes-the diversity of SPHs, the solo economy for single households, safety issues, and social relationships. Conclusions: Theoretical and policy implications on family studies relating to SPH are discussed.
