One strain of Penicillium sp. (175-66-B), isolated from soil, was able to produce a substance that has a strong inibition activity against the Agkistrodon and Trimeresurus venoms. In this experiment, the chemical and biological properties of the sample were investigated. As an inhibitory substance, it was effective to the proteinase, hemorrhagic and lethal factors of Agkistrodon and Trimeresurus venoms, and also effective to several fractions of the proteinases and hemorrhagic factors of Agkistrodon halys blomhoffi venom. Moreover, in the addition of prednisotone, it was more effective for the cure of the mouse envenomated with the venom amount of two fold of MLD$_{100}$. This substance was very stable to the acid, alkali and heat. Its melting point was high enough to sublime at 222$^{\circ}C$ without any decomposition. This sample was easily dissolved only in hot water, but not in several organic solvents except for a little dissolution in elate. It did not have the chelating activity. It had very strong specificity to the snake venoms. but its activity was depressed by the addition of zinc or cupric salts. This sample had no acute toxicity to the mouse. Its chemical formula was $C_{16}$$H_{12}$$N_2$$O_{10}$ with the molecular weight of about 392. It has two epoxy groups and four carboxyl radicals, but amino, nitrite and nitrate radicals, unsaturated bonds and aromatic ring were not detected. Theuchemical configuration of this sample was suggested to be;
Objectives : Korean tradithional acupuncture Theory, Sa-am's 5 phases acupuncture method was originated in 1644-1742, in the middle of the Cho Sun dynasty. This study was to vertify the effect of Sa-am Acupuncture Treatment on Primary dysmenorrhea of Women. Methods : The subjects were 80 volunteers who was suffering for dysmenorrhea, employed using Measure of Menstrual Pain (MMP) questionnaire. Subjects were divided into two groups including Sa-am acupuncture treatment group(n=25), minimal acupuncture treatment group(n=22). They had agreed to take part in this experiment, with didn't take any anodyne drugs. In the acupuncture group, subjects were stimulated at G41, $SI_3$, B66, $SI_2$(Small intestine jung-guk), $SP_6$, $CV_6$ and one points were inserted additionally depending the symptoms among $ST_{36}$ or $LI_2$. In the control group, subjects were needled at 5 non-acupuncture points have any effect on Dysmenorrhea. A total of 8 acupuncture sessions were performed for each patient depending on the individual menstruation cycle The MMP score by using 7 questions and the Menstrual Symptom Severity List(MSSL-D) was measured before and after menstruation cycle. Collected data were analyzed as frequency, percentage, paired t-test, independent t-test using SPSS 10.0 WIN Program. Results : Acupuncture treatment produced a significant decreasing the symptom of Primary dysmenorrhea in two groups, but a statistically significant difference was not shown in the acupuncture group compare to control group. Conclusions : Based on the above results, it was verified that Acupuncture Treatment was effective in decreasing the symptom of Primary Dysmenorrhea.

In this paper, we present an improved image formation model and propose a color image enhancement based on the model. In the presented image formation model, an input image is represented as a product of global illumination, local illumination, and reflectance. In the proposed color image enhancement, an input RGB color image is converted into an HSV color image. Under the assumption of white-light illumination, the H and S component images are remained as they are and the V component image only is enhanced based on the image formation model. The global illumination is estimated by applying a linear LPF with wide support region to the input V component image and the local illumination by applying a JND (just noticeable difference)-based nonlinear LPF with narrow support region to the processed image, where the estimated global illumination is eliminated from the input V component image. The reflectance is estimated by dividing the input V component image by the estimated global and local illuminations. After performing the gamma correction on the three estimated components, the output V component image is obtained from their product. Histogram modeling is next executed such that the final output V component image is obtained. Finally an output RGB color image is obtained from the H and S component images of the input color image and the final output V component image. Experimental results for the test image DB built with color images downloaded from NASA homepage and MPEG-7 CCD color images show that the proposed method gives output color images of very well-increased global and local contrast without halo effect and color shift.
In the culture medium, the three antifungal fractions against P. capsici were separated by Sephadex G-25 column chromatography and Silica-gel chromatography. The substance A in white powder and the substance B in sticky oil were isolated by ethyl acetate : acetone mixture(7 : 3), and the substance C in yellow powder was isolated by chloroform : ethyl acetate mixture(95 : 5). The crude extract by ethyl acetate from the culture medium acidified to pH 2 was known to inhibit completely the growth of P. capsici at the level of $50mgkg^{-1}$. The substance A and B were known to be effective above the level of $5mgkg^{-1}$, and the substance C was effective above the level of $1mgkg^{-1}$. However, at the level of $20mgkg^{-1}$, the efficiency was in the order of A>C>B. It is apparent on a pot-experiment scale that the three substances effectively control Phytophthora blight of the red-pepper plant grown in the soil inoculated with P. capsici.

The pathogenic fungi associated with blight of leaf and stem in peony were leaf spot (Alternaria sp.), powdery mildew (Erysiphe aquilegiae) and rust (Cronartium flaccidum). The infection of leaf spot and powdery mildew begins from late April to midMay and rust was infected in early June. Blight time of aerial part in peony started from late May and the ratio of blight on leaf and stem was more than 50% in late Aug. Yields of root by the incidence time of blight of leaf and stem were 69.1% in late June, 65.4% in late July and $87.6{\sim}92.7$% in August and September. The number of root of more than 10mm in root diameter blighted in late June and July was much lower than in August, but the paeoniflorin content in the former was much higher than the latter.
The two isolates of Streptomyces antagonistic to Phytophthora nicotianae var. parasitica and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum were identified as based on the morphological, cultural and physiological characteristics on various culture media. Spore chains of St-11 isolate was rectus-flexibilis(RF), whereas the other isolate, St-20, was shown rectinaculum-apertum(RA). Spore surface of St-11 isolate was smooth, while St-20 was spiny. Aerial mycelia of the two isolates were all gray color and growing conditions on media were good as a whole. Any soluble pigment was not shown in cultivation of the two isolates. Stoll isolate showed negative response on starch hydrolysis and gelation liquefaction, whereas St-20 isolate was positive on starch hydrolysis and a negative on gelatin reaction. Stoll isolate was identified as Streptomyces bikiniensis and St-20 Streptomyces echinoruber, respectively.
Two vibrio sp. strains were isolated from disease catfish(silurus asotus). The present isolates were identified as Vibrio ordalii based on their biological and biochemical characteristics ; they were positive for acid production from glucose, Iactose, maltose, sucrose and salicine, while negative for arabinose, galactose, inocitol and xylose. They are named KL-1 and KL-2, KL-1 and KL-2 strains were similar to physiological characteristics ; growth was observed at pH 5 to 10 and in 0% to 6.0% NaCl. Two strains did not growth at a concentration above 7.0% NaCl and pH10. This bacterium was infected into health catfish hypodermically. Such injection was found to induce haemorrhagic ulcers very similar to those observed in naturally infected fish. At 24h post-infection, the red spot developed around the injection site and grew bigger to from a red sport area. At 120h post-infection, the muscle ncerosis was extended near the ventral fin. The seventy percent lethal dosage was appeared to water temperature at $25^{\circ}C$. Two strains were tested for drug senistiveity by plate method. KL-1 and KL-2 strains were sensitive to GM. K, N, S and SxT, but resistant to CF, L and VA.
For the biological control of Phytophthora blight of red-pepper caused by Phytophthora capsici, an antibiotic-producing plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) Bacillus sp. KL 39 was selected from a local soil of Kyongbuk, Korea. The strain KL 39 was identified as Bacillus megaterium by various cultural, biochemical test and API and Microlog system. B. megaterium KL 39 could produce the highest antifungal antibiotic after 40 h of incubation under the optimal medium which was 0.4% fructose, 0.3% yeast extract, and 5 mM KCl at 30 C with initial pH 8.0. The antifungal antibiotic KL 39 was purified by Diaion HP-20 column, silica gel column, Sephadex LH-20 column, and HPLC. Its RF value was confirmed 0.32 by thin-layer chromatography with Ethanol:Ammonia:Water = 8:1:1. The crude antibiotic KL39 was active against a broad range of plant pathogenic fungi, Rhizoctonia solani, Pyricularia oryzae, Monilinia fructicola, Botrytis cinenea, Alteranria kikuchiana, Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium solani. The purified antifungal antibiotic KL39 had a powerful biocontrol activity against red-pepper phytophthora blight disease with in vivo pot test as well as the strain B. megaterium KL 39.
Fish were grown in a water recycling rearing system consisting of a filter system, of which the area is about $30\;m^2$ and the volume of filter gravels is about $15\;m^3$, 6 rearing and 2 supplementary tans about $7\;m^2$ of surface area each. The results for 180 days from April 18 to October 14,1980 are summarized as following: One rearing tank was used for main experiment stocked with an equal number, and weight of each Israeli strain and $F_1$, hybrid between this strain and Korean local strain of common carp. Gross total production was 461 kg with a net production of 395 kg, and the Israeli strain grew to about 8 times initial weight and the hybrid about 6 times. Based on an analysis of results of the above mentioned main experiment and the other miscellaneous fish grown in the remaining tanks, it was considered to be feasible to implement a commercial production in this system by improving parts of the system and adding a number of the units. A special problem seems to be an adoption of more effective aeration device when fish loading increases. A solid waste removal system was deviced by use of by-pass flow ana this system worked very efficiently in view of supply water economy. A serious problem encountered in this experiment was heavy outbreaks of the gill-fluke, Dactylogyrus sp. which was relatively easily eradicated with Dipterex or DDVP treatment in the first trials, but later on strains which were resistant to any of these chemicals appeared.

In this paper we proposed a candidate algorithm on G.711.1 and G.722 superwideband extension codec which is under standardization by ITU-T. The proposed codec not only provides an interoperable bitstream with ITU-T G.711.1 and G.722, but also encodes a superwideband signal with a bandwidth of 50-14,000 Hz using superwideband extension layer. The candidate codec consists of a core layer to provide an interoperability with conventional wideband codecs and superwideband extension layer using linear prediction-based sinusoidal coding. The proposed extension codec operates on 5ms frame and provides four superwideband bitrates of 64, 80, 96, and 112 kbit/s depending on the core codec. Since the resulting bitstream has an embedded structure, it can be converted into core bitstream by simple truncation without transcoding. The proposed codec has a short algorithmic delay and low complexity and passed the qualification test of G.711.1 and G.722 superwideband extension codec performed by ITU-T.
