인터벤션 시 방사선조사 조건에 따른 선량감소 : 면적선량과 영상화질 변화를 중심으로 (Dose Reduction According to the Exposure Condition in Intervention Procedure : Focus on the Change of Dose Area and Image Quality)

  • 본 연구는 NEMA Phantom을 사용하여 관전류량 변화에 따른 면적선량과 영상화질의 분석을 통해 선량을 감소할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 인터벤션의 특성상 중요한 화질평가 항목인 공간 분해능, 저 대조도 분해능과 함께 신호 대 잡음비(Signal to Noise Ratio; SNR), 대조도 대 잡음비(Contrast to Noise Ratio; CNR)를 평가기준으로 하였고, 관전압은 80 kVp로 고정하고, 관전류량을 20, 30, 40, 50 mAs로 변화시켜 면적선량과 영상화질을 비교분석하였다. 그 결과 관전압을 고정한 상태에서 면적선량은 조건이 증가함에 따라 $1,066mGycm^2$에서 $6,160mGycm^2$으로 약 6배까지 증가하였고, 공간분해능과 저 대조도 분해능은 20 mAs, 30 mAs에서 평가기준보다 높게 관찰되었으나 40 mAs는 공간 분해능, 50 mAs에서는 공간 분해능과 저 대조도 분해능이 평가기준 이하로 관찰되었다. 또한 SNR과 CNR은 30 mAs까지는 증가하다 40 mAs에서 다소 증가하기는 하였으나 이전과 큰 차이가 없었고, 50 mAs에서는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 결론적으로 관전류의 과잉노출로 피폭선량이 증가하고, 공간 분해능, 저 대조도 분해능, SNR, CNR 모든 영역에서 영상화질이 저하된다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 적절한 관전류량의 설정으로 인터벤션에서 피폭선량을 줄이고 영상화질을 충분히 개선할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

자동노출제어장치를 이용한 요추 측면 방사선검사 시 환자 중심 위치 변화가 선량과 화질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dose and Image Quality according to Center Location in Lumbar Spine Lateral Radiography Using AEC Mode)

  • The purpose of this study is to consider usefulness of using AEC mode and importance of patient center location in L-spine lateral radiography by comparing dose and image quality according to the change of patient center location with using AEC mode or not. In this study, guide wire is attached to the human body phantom's lumbar spine and the lead ruler is attached to the bottom of the wall detector to find out center location in detector. ESD, mAs, and EI were selected as dose factors, and image quality was compared through SNR. With the lumbar spine located center of the detector, dose factors and image quality were compared according to using AEC mode or not. Afterwards, phantom moved 4 cm and 8 cm back and forth and compared dose factors and image quality. The exposure parameters were 85 kVp, 320 mA, x-ray field size 10×17 inch, and the distance between the center X-ray and the detector was fixed at 100 cm. The center X-ray was perpendicular to the fourth lumbar spine and the only bottom AEC chamber was used. All data were analyzed by independent t-test and ANOVA. As a result of this study, with AEC when the center is matched, ESD was 1.31±0.01 mGy, without AEC was 2.12±0.01 mGy. SNR was shown to be 22.81±1.83, and 23.44±1.87 respectively. When the phantom's center moves 4 cm, 8 cm forward, and 4 cm, 8 cm backward, ESD were 1.09±0.004 mGy, 0.32±0.003 mGy, 1.19±0.017 mGy, 1.11±0.006 mGy respectively, SNR were 18.29±0.60 dB, 11.11±0.22 dB, 18.98±0.80 dB, 17.71±0.82 dB. Using AEC in L-spine lateral radiography reduced ESD by 38%, EI by 35%, and mAs by 38%, without any difference in SNR(p<0.05). When the phantom's center moves 4 cm, 8 cm forward, and 4 cm, 8 cm backward, ESD was decreasing each 16%, 75%, 9%, 15%, EI was decreasing each 14%, 77%, 15%, 20%, mAs was decreasing each 15% 75% 9%, 15%. SNR was decreasing each 19%, 51%, 17%, 22%.

Performance Analysis of Dual-Hop MBST-ADF Relay Networks Over Quasi-Static Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • The objective of this study was to derive approximate closed-form error rates for M-ary burst symbol transmission (MBST) of dual-hop adaptive decode-and-forward (ADF) cooperative relay systems over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Within a burst, there are pilot symbols and data symbols. Pilot symbols are used for channel estimation schemes and each relay node's transmission mode selection schemes. At first, our focus was on ADF relay systems' error-events at relay nodes. Each event's occurrence probability and probability density function (PDF) were then derived. With error-event based approach, we derived a tractable form of PDF for combined signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Averaged error rates were then derived as approximate expressions for arbitrary link SNR with different modulation orders and numbers of relays. Its accuracy was verified by comparison with simulation results.

Spike와 Turn 변수를 이용한 표면근전도 신호의 진폭 추정 (Surface EMG Amplitude Estimation by using Spike and Turn Variables)

  • The EMG amplitude estimator, which has been investigated as an indicator of muscle force, is of high relevance not only in biomechanical studies but also more and more in clinical applications. This paper presents a new approach to estimate surface EMG amplitude by using the mean spike and mean turn amplitude(MSA and MTA) variables. Surface EMG signals, a total of 198 signals, were recorded from biceps brachii muscle over the range of 20-80%MVC isometric contraction and performance of the MSA and MTA variables applied to amplitude estimation of the EMG signals were investigated. To examine the performance, a SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) was computed from each amplitude estimate. The results of the study indicate that MSA and MTA amplitude estimations with first order whitening filter and 300[ms]-350[ms] moving average window length are optimal and show better performance(mean SNR improvement of 6%-15%) than the most frequently used variables(ARV and RMS).

  • We consider a method for enhancement of speech signal degraded by additive random noise with time-variant and/or colored natures. For enhancement of speech signal with such noise, it is effective to utilize the natures of speech and noise. The objective of enhancement of speech is to improve the overall quality and the articulation of speech degraded by the time-variant and/or colored random noise. In the proposed method the distribution model of speech spectrum is given as information to noise reduction system. The proposed system can improve about lOdB in SNR when the input SNR is 0 dB.

Pre-filtering and Location Estimation of a Loose Part

  • In this paper, two pre-filtering techniques are presented for accurately estimating the impact location of a loose part. The reason why a pre-filterng technique Is necessary in a Loose Part Monitoring System is that the effects of background noise on the signal to noise ratio (SNR) can be reduced considerably resulting in improved estimation accuracy. The first method is to take d moving average operation in the time domain. The second one is to adopt band-pass filters designed in the frequency domain such as a Butterworth filter, Chebyshev filter I & II and an Elliptic Filter. To show the effectiveness, the impact test data (signals) from the YGN3 power plant are first preprocessed and then used to estimate the loose pan impact position. Resultantly. we observed that SNR is much improved and the average estimation error is below 7.5%.

전력선 통신 기반 전관방송 시스템 (Power Line Communication Based Public Address System)

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡한 전관방송 장비와 케이블을 용이하게 운용하고, 확장 및 증설할 수 있도록 전력선 통신을 이용한 전관방송 시스템을 개발하였다. 전력선 통신 기반 전관방송 시스템은 디지털 스트리밍 변조 방식을 적용한 제어 보드와 스피커 보드로 구현되었으며, 오디오 최대 출력, 오디오 채널 응답 시간, 오디오 출력 SNR, 그리고 오디오 출력 THD+N에 대한 성능 측정을 실시하여 만족스러운 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속의 적웅 지각 필터에서 잡음 과추정으로 인해서 발생하는 불필요한 반복 계산 및 결과 신호의 SNR 성능 저하를 개선시키는 방법을 제안한다. 적응 지각 필터를 고속연산이 가능하도록 개선하는 과정에서 시간적인 측면에서는 많은 성능의 개선이 있었지만 음질 개선 과정에서 과추정된 잡음의 적용에 의한 성능 저하가 발생하였다. 제안하는 시스템에서는 적웅 지각 필터의 임계값을 조정하고, 임계값이외에 발생하는 잡음 과추정에 대해서 실험적으로 필터 반복 연산량 제한을 통해 향상된 결과를 얻었다. 이 시스템에서 필터 반복 연산량은 입력 구간의 신호에 따라 적응적으로 제한된다. 제안된 알고리즘의 개선 확인을 위해서 감소된 반복 연산량과 SNR 개선량을 측정하여 기존의 방법과 비교하였다.

  • 電話信號에 대하여 syllabic companding 과 비슷한 變形된 ADM을 論하였다. 入力과 歸還回路를 포함한 大部分의 回路에 digital 技法을 사용함으로 DM의 IC化가 용이 하게 된다. 廣帶域 ADM의 slope over load 最適化, 安定化, SNR에 對하여 解析하였고 實驗 結果 周波數帶域이 改善됨을 確認하였다.

Spectrum Sharing SDMA with Limited Feedback: Throughput Analysis

  • In the context of effective usage of a scarce spectrum resource, emerging wireless communication standards will demand spectrum sharing with existing systems as well as multiple access with higher spectral efficiency. We mathematically analyze the sum throughput of a spectrum sharing space-division multiple access (SDMA) system, which forms a transmit null in the direction of other coexisting systems while satisfying orthogonal beamforming constraints. For a large number of users N, the SDMA throughput scales as log N at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) ((J-1) loglog N at normal SNR), where J is the number of transmit antennas. This indicates that multiplexing gain of the spectrum sharing SDMA is $\frac{J-1}{J}$ times less than that of the non-spectrum sharing SDMA only using orthogonal beamforming, whereas no loss in multiuser diversity gain. Although the spectrum sharing SDMA always has lower throughput compared to the non-spectrum sharing SDMA in the non-coexistence scenario, it offers an intriguing opportunity to reuse spectrum already allocated to other coexisting systems.
