  • Constant ${\Delta}K$ fatigue crack growth tests were performed applying an intermediate multiple overload for SM45C steel. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effects of specimen thickness at various baseline stress intensity levels$({\Delta}K_b)$, overload application frequency(a/W) and overload application frequency$(OL_{HZ})$ on fatigue crack growth retardation behavior. The principal results are summarized as follows. The amount of retardation for a given ${\Delta}K_b$ level is increased with increasing the baseline stress intensity level in all specimen thickness. The normalized minimum crack growth rate is increased with increasing the specimen thickness, except for ${\Delta}K=45MPa \sqrt m$. The retardation cycle is decreased with increasing the overload application position and increased with the overload application frequency.

  • This paper dealt with experimentally the effect of $N_2$ and $H_2$ gas mixtures ratio in the fatigue characteristics of SM45C on Ion-nitrided. The specimen were treated water cooling after Ion-nitriding at $500^{\circ}C$ and 5 torr. in 80% $N_2$and 50% $N_2$gas mixtures ratio in the atmosphere for 3 hrs. The hardness distribution and the depth of nitriding layer shows more increase in 80% $N_2$gas mixture ratio than 50% $N_2$. Ion-nitrided specim- en for 80% $N_2$gas mixture ratio show more increase infatigue strenght in the $>1.5{\times}10^5$ cycles region than 50% $N_2$. In the $<1.5{\times}10^5$cycles region, fatigue failure is due to cracking of the brittle nitrided case, and the propergation of the surface cracks into the core. But in the $>1.5{\times}10^5$cycles region, it is found that cracks propagate from the non-metallic inclusions in the subsurface.

  • This study deals with the heat-treatment technique of SM45C steel with respect to less of deformation in control. The whole process for the production of landing gear must go through with uniformally controlled heat treatment, where as most deformation usually occur in nonuniform cooling environment. When a heated metal is submerged into a certain quenchant, the rate of cooling rapidity can be measured rather slow during the early stage of the procedure due to an Occurrence of a vapor blanked. As the additional course of cooling action is applied and the vapor from a vapor blanked is destroyed simultaneously, the speed of cooling promptness can be considered rather swift. The object of this study is to control the certain deformations as in the procedure of a heat treatment for landing gear by analyzing and improving the conditions of different substance of quenching liquids. Several noticeable curves indicating the temperature variation on the ap-plied metals during the cooling procedures, along with detectable rates of water verses oil and that of different polymer solutions are illustrated.

고주파표면경화한 SM45C 강에서 유교경화층깊이가 피로거동에 미치는 영향 (A Study on Fatigue Behavior according to Effective Case Depth in Induction Case Hardened SM45C Steel)

  • This paper reveals the effect of the effective case depth(ECD) on the fatigue behavior of a high-frequency induction hardened SM45C in rotated bending fatigue test. In addition, the effects of fracture modes(surface origin type, inner origin type) on it are discussed. The fatigue limit of the induction hardened steel is remarkably increased compared with that of base metal. In addition, the fatigue limit is linearly increased as the effective casedepth grows deep in the region of this experiment (ECD/R;0.23-0.49). The S-N curve and fracture mode in the induction case hardened steel are classified into two kinds, as a result : N$_{f}$<10$^{5}$ ;surface origin type fracture(at high stress), N$_{f}$>10$^{5}$ ; in ner origin type fracture(at low stress). In case of inner origin type fracture; as the effective case depth(ECD) gets deep, the fatigue limit is increased by the reason that the fracture origin moves toward center; in reverse, is decreased by reason that the compressive residual stress gets low. As a result, the increasing effect of the former is much bigger than the decreasing effect of the latter, and the fatigue limit is increased as the ECD gets deep.eep.

미역을 첨가한 청국장의 발효 및 품질 특성 (Fermentation and Quality Characteristics of Cheonggukjang prepared with Sea Mustard)

  • 청국장의 품질 향상과 기능성을 강화하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 다양한 생리활성을 가진 미역을 첨가하여 제조한 청국장의 발효 및 품질 특성을 조사하였다. 미역 첨가 청국장은 발효 전 기간 동안 대조구와 유사한 미생물수를 나타내었고, 청국장의 pH 발효가 진행됨에 따라 높아졌으며, 발효 72시간에는 대조구에 비해 미역 첨가 청국장의 pH가 높았다. 청국장의 아미노태 질소는 발효 초기에는 대조구가 가장 높았으나, 발효가 진행됨에 따라 대조구보다는 미역첨가 청국장이 더욱 높았으며, 발효 72시간에는 SM5에는 $397.13{\mu}g/mL$로 가장 높았다. 발효 종료 후 청국장의 점질물의 양은 SM5가 6.53%로 가장 높았다. 발효 48시간째 SM5, SM10, SM15의 DPPH 라디칼 소거능은 각각 77.91, 80.72, 79.40%를 나타내어 대조구(68.09%)에 비해 높았다. 발효 종료 후 대조구의 총 폴리페놀의 함량은 $266.46{\mu}g/mL$인데 반해, 미역첨가 청국장은 $352.87{\sim}396.07{\mu}g/mL$를 나타내었고, ABTS radical 소거능은 SM5, SM10, SM15 각각 89.01, 91.32, 92.27%로 대조구(86.66%)보다 높았다. 미역 청국장의 관능검사 결과, 맛은 SM5가 3.40으로 가장 높았으며, 대조구가 2.88로 가장 낮았다. 풍미와 종합적 기호도도 SM-5가 가장 높았고, 대조구에 비해 미역 첨가 청국장이 높았으나 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다.

밸브의 감속기 검증 및 설계에 관한 연구 (A study of Design and Certification for Reduced Speed in Valve)

  • 본 논문에서는 유체기계에서 사용되고 있는 홀로제트밸브의 감속기에 대하여 APM S/W로 시뮬레이션(simulation) 하였다. 수압과 외부의 힘에 의해서 전달되는 베벨기어의 설계검증 및 재설계 관하여 시뮬레이션을 하였다. 도면의 재원을 변경시키지 않고 기어의 수명을 시뮬레이션한 결과 SM45C를 Martempering하여 사용할 시 기어의 수명이 짧아 적절치 못하였고 고주파열처리강, 질화열처리강을 사용할 경우 기어의 수명시간이 12,957-20,983시간 이였고 침탄강을 사용할 시 기어의 수명은 영구적이었고 소재의 경도가 우수할수록 더 많은 허용굽힘응력과 허용접촉응력을 받을 수 있다는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 입증된다. 그리고 기어의 검증결과로 기어를 다시 설계할 경우 고주파나 질화강으로 하여 기어의 잇수가 1-3개만 늘어나고, 피치원의 지름이 4-12mm늘어나면 영구적으로 사용할 수 있고 침탄강을 사용할 시 치폭이 3mm줄어들고, 기어 잇수가 1-3개 줄어들고 피치원의 지름이 4-13mm 줄어들어 감속기를 경량화 시킬 수 있다는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 입증되었다.

  • Laser welding of dissimilar metals has been widely used to improve a wear resistance and a corrosion resistance of the industrial parts. The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of the process parameters, such as the welding for SM45C and STS304 with CW Nd:YAG lasers. The bead-on-plate welding tests are carried out for several combinations of the experimental conditions. In order to quantitatively examine the characteristics of the dissimilar welding, the welding quality of the cut section, stress-strain behavior and the hardness of the welded metal are investigated. From the results of the investigation, it has been shown that the optimal voiding condition without defects in the vicinity of the welded area and with a good welding quality is 1600W of the laser power, 0.85m/min of welding speed and $4{\ell}/min$ of pressure for shielding gas.

  • In this study, Ultra-precision finishing system using micro abrasive film experimented using experimental variable film feed speed and grinding speed and structural steel(SM45C) with respect to 12~3{\mu}m$ micro abrasive film. the result are follows; (1) Experimental condition must setup dissimilar about each micro abrasive film. (2) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 20mm/min in 12{\mu}m$, 5mm/min and 15mm/min in 9{\mu}m$ and 5{\mu}m$, 5mm/min in 3{\mu}m$ in film feed speed. (3) To measurement deviation the smallest machined condition are 180m/min in 12{\mu}m$, 84m/min in 9{\mu}m$, 56 and 84m/min in 5{\mu}m$, 104m/min in 3{\mu}m$ in grinding speed.
