  • Characterization and numerical identification were carried out for an actinomycetes SL20209. Morphological, cultural and physiological perperties of SL20209 which porduced valistatin and des-$asp^4$-amastatin as inhibitors of aminopeptidase M were evaluated. The isolate was identified to be the genus of Streptomyces. Fourty-three taxonomic units were analysed by using a TAXON program. The isolate was classified into the major cluster 29 of Streptomyces and best-matched to Streptomyces griseoplanus.

Age and Growth of Purpulish Washington Clam (Saxidomus purpuratus) in Jinhae Bay, Korea (진해만에 분포하는 개조개 (Saxidomus purpuratus)의 연령과 성장)

  • Age and growth of purpulish Washington clam (Saxidomus purpuratus) was investigated from 480 samples monthly collected from January to December 2002 in Jinhae Bay, Korea. Examination of outer margins of the shell revealed that the translucent zone was formed once a year from March to April, it can be used as annulus. Ages were determined from ring radius of shell, and maximum age of the the clam was 9 years. The spawning period was from May to October, and the main spawning occurred in July. The relationship between shell length (SL) and shell height (SH) was $SH=0.8405{\times}SL^{-4.9709}\;(R^2=0.97)$ and that between the shell length (SL) and total weight (TW) was $TW=0.9580{\times}10-4{\times}SL^{3.220}(R^2=0.97).$ The von Bertalanffy growth equation were $SL_t=125.57(1-e^{-0.2523(t+0.5367)},\;TW_t=549.26(1-e^{-0.2523(t+0.5367)})^{3.220}.$

  • Purpose: This study was to conducted to search for factors influencing the confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance (CC) based on comparative analysis, of the relationship between problem solving ability (PS), self-directed learning ability (SL) and CC of nursing students. Methods: This study was conducted based on questionnaires (208) given to senior nursing students. Data were analyzed by the t-test, ANNOVA and Scheffe's test. Moreover, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression were conducted to determine the relationship between items. Results: Proving Solving ability differed significantly in SC. In addition, satisfaction with core fundamental nursing skills (SL) differed significantly by gender, academic performance of last semester, support for nursing, and SC. Moreover, PS was found to have a normal relationship with SL and CC, and SL was found to have a normal relationship with CC. Conclusion: Education strategy should include methods of increasing the PS of student to improve CC in nursing education. Moreover, SL education should be used to increase nursing tasks and effective adaptation to their circumstances as a clinical nurse after graduation.

  • The newborn, Hippocampus kuda larvae were 6.97-8.81, standard length (SL) mm (mean 7.89 mm) and mouth and anuse were open. Dorsal fin rays 15-18 and pectoral fin-rays were counted 8 and had 10-11+21 myotomes, body's bony plate ring being developed strongly in the central axis of myotomes part. 4 days after bearing, the SL was 7.02-9.47 mm (mean 8.24 mm) and nostrils began to open. 12 days after bearing, larvae attained to 8.91-11.2 SL mm (mean 10.0 mm). From this time, their unique predation habit appeared. 21 days bearing, larvae attained to 12.1-14.8 SL mm (mean 13.4 mm) the and thorn of back was enlarged among the plate formed around ring. 41 days bearing, seahorses attained to 17.1-17.8 SL mm (mean 17.4 mm) and the number of body's bony plate ring of the top of rings trunk was 11 and on the tail of them was 33-36, similar to figure of adult.

  • This paper deals with conversion from the STL file to the Slice to the Slice cross-sectional information for Stereolithography. The STL file is widely used for Stereolithography, but it is very difficult to convert STL file into Slice file directly. Because it consists of an ordered list of triangular net without any topological information other than the orientation of each facet. So, The system is accomplished by data flow through several intermediate stages such as Reference. SL1. .SL2L. .SL3. and .SLC file. The data processing is performed in 5 steps: 1) Create a Reference file including common information. 2) Modify STL file within the effective range of SL machine. 3) Calculate a point of intersection between plane equation and line equation. 4) Sort z values in ascending order using quick sort algorithm. 5) Search the adjacent points and formulate a closed loop usingsingly linked linear list. The system is developed by using Borland C++ 3.1 compiler in the environment of Pentium PC, and verified to be satisfactory by making some prototypes of electric household appliances.

  • Morphological and skeletal development in the cultured threeline grunt Parapristipoma trilineatum was studied from 1.96 to 61.39 mm notochord length (NL) or standard length (SL) specimens (n=360). After two days post-hatching (dph, 2.13 mm NL), the mouth opened, and melanophores formed in the eyes and egg yolk were absorbed. Oli globules were absorbed at 3 dph (2.71 mm NL). The total number of fin rays reached that of adults at 28 dph (10.58 mm SL). During skeletal development, the premaxillaray, dentary, opercle, preopercle, and cleithrum first began to ossify at 6 dph (3.51 mm NL). Ossification of all skeletal elements was completed at 28 dph (14.57 mm SL). The vertebrae began to ossify at 17 dph (5.63 mm SL) and were completed at 28 dph (8.48 mm SL), progressing from cranium to caudal bone. The centrum ossified from the dorsal to ventral direction. Vertebral fusion and separation were found to be common skeletal abnormalities.

  • In this paper, a SL-DCVSL (static latched differential cascode voltage switch logic) circuit for the asynchronous pipeline is proposed. The proposed SL-DCVSL circuit is a slightly modified version of the DCVSL circuit, and used to improve the storage capability of the precharged functional blocks. The proposed SL-DCVSL has more robust storage characteristics compared to the conventional LDCVSL (latched DCVSL〔2〕). The operation of the proposed circuit is verified by simulating the asynchronous FIFO (First-In First-Out) structure.

L-methionine을 생산하는 방선균의 분리 및 동정

  • 토양시료에서 분리한 250여종의 방선균과 500여종의 세균에 대한 L-methionine 생산능력을 조사한 결과 SL 140 분리균이 배양액 $m\ell$당 2 $\mu\textrm{g}$의 L-methionine 을 생산함으로서 가장 높은 생산량을 나타내었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 일차로 SL 140 균주의 형태적 내지는 생리적 특성과 세포벽 구성 성분등을 분석하여 균 동정을 실시한바 SL-140 분리균이 Streptomyces속에 속하는 방선균임을 알았다.

  • Altimeter(Topex/Poseidon) and AVHRR(NOAA) data were used to study the variations and correlations of Sea Level(SL) and Sea Surface Temperature (SST) in the North East Asian Seas from November 1993 to May 1998. This region is influenced simultaneously to continental and oceanic climate. SL and SST have increased gradually every year because the global warming, and presented usually a strong annual variations in Kuroshio extension region with the influence of bottom topography.
