The Spin Reorientations in $\alpha-Fe_2O_3$ Thin Film ($\alpha-Fe_2O_3$ 박막에서 스핀 재 정렬에 관한 연구)

  • $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ thin films were prepared on Si substrate by a pulsed laser deposition system and characterized by X-ray and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The appropriate conditions of pulsation was the power of 5.128 W/cm2 at on oxygen pressure of 0.1 Torr at a substrate temperature of 30$0^{\circ}C$. After that the film was heated at 80$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 day. The particles shape deposited on the film was ellipsoidal and the average length and width were 200~300 nm, 70~150 am respectively. The crystal structure was conformed to be of corundums symmetry with the hexagonal unit cell having a lattice constant of u = 5.03$\pm$0.05 $\AA$, c = 13.735$\pm$0.05 $\AA$. The average angles between the atomic spin and the magnetic hyperfine field of Fe ion were 38$^{\circ}$and 48$^{\circ}$ at above and blow the Morin transition temperature respectively. The Morin transition was found to occur at the temperature ranges from 200 K to room temperature and atomic spin direction was assumed to change from 48$^{\circ}$ to 80$^{\circ}$in respect to the c-axis.

A Study on the Evaluation of Equality and the Direction of Location Selection for the Concert Hall in Jeju (제주지역 공연장 접근 형평성 평가와 입지선정 방향 연구)

  • Jeju has many out-of-town cultural areas owing to its low accessibility to concert halls. Based on data from Jeju in 2019, this study selected possible sites for concert halls and examined the location status of existing concert halls in Jeju by utilizing GIS analysis. As a result, directions on location selection are proposed for the western and eastern parts of Jeju, where accessibility to concert halls is relatively difficult. Considering the theory, prior research, and the regional characteristics of Jeju, the directions for location selection exclude residential areas and areas with little accessibility. They also list good points for accessibility within areas that have little of it, that are distant from administrative dong areas in Jeju-si and Seogwipo-si, that have friendly natural scenery, and that already have accessible public transportation. Accordingly, four places were proposed as possible areas for construction of a concert hall in 2020. This study is expected to contribute to cultural marketing that makes the Jeju area a Cultural Island.

Study of Dynamic Variation Aspect in Lung Volume due to Respiration in Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Using Abdominal Compressor (복부압박장치를 이용한 정위적방사선치료 시 호흡에 따른 폐암 용적의 동적변이 양상에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: Abdominal compressor is used to control breathing in stereotactic body radiotherapy for lung tumors frequently. We evaluated the dynamic variation aspect of internal tumor volume by breathing. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 20 lung cancer patients (7 upper lung patients, 4 middle lung patients, 9 lower lung patients) who received stereotactic body radiotherapy using abdominal compressor between April 2012 to April 2013. Coordinate shift values were obtained by using four-dimensional cone-beam CT (4D-CBCT) to investigate treatment set-up error and moving tumor position error. To investigate how much difference of each part, we compared 95% confidence interval, maximum values and minimum values of three-dimensional vector value and analyzed conformity degree through the Pearson square correlation coefficient. Results: 95% confidence interval of three-dimensional vector value of each part is 1.8~2.9 mm in upper lobe, 2.3~5.4 mm in middle lobe and 2.2~4.0 mm in lower lobe. Conformity degree was the result that respectively is LR direction 0.75, SI direction 0.68 and AP direction 0.63 in upper lobe, LR direction 0.82, SI direction 0.51 and AP direction 0.92 in middle lobe and LR direction 0.63, SI direction 0.50 and AP direction 0.34 in lower lobe. Conclusion: We showed difference by each site in lung tumor due to respiration by using abdominal compressor. Therefore, we must correct treatment set-up error as well as moving tumor position error by breathing. It is also considered to be useful that it is the use of 4D-CBCT when correcting the error due to various dynamic variation.

  • The catalytic conversion of ethanol to aromatic compounds ETA was studied over ZSM-5 heterogeneous catalysts. The effect of reaction temperature, weight hourly space velocity (WHSV), and addition of water and methanol, which are the potential impurities of bio-ethanol, on the catalytic performance was investigated in a fixed bed reactor. Commercial ZSM-5 catalysts having different Si/$Al_2$ ratios of 23 to 280 and modified ZSM-5 catalysts by addition of metal (Zn, La, Cu, and Ga) were used for the activity and stability tests in ETA reaction. The catalysts were characterized with ammonia temperature programmed desorption ($NH_3$-TPD) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption techniques. The results of catalytic performance revealed that the optimal Si/$Al_2$ ratio of ZSM-5 is about 50~80 and the selectivity to aromatic compounds decreases in the order of Zn/La > Zn > La > Cu > Ga for the modified ZSM-5 catalysts. Among these catalysts from the ETA reaction, Zn-La/ZSM-5 showed the best catalytic performance for the ETA reaction. The selectivity to aromatic compounds was 72% initially and 56% after 30 h over the catalysts at reaction temperature of $437^{\circ}C$ and WHSV of $0.8h^{-1}$.

Crytallization Behavior of Amorphous ${Si_{1-x}}{Ge_x)$ Films Deposited on $SiO_2$ by Molecular Beam Epitaxy(MBE) ($SiO_2$위에 MBE(Moleculat Beam Epitaxy)로 증착한 비정질 ${Si_{1-x}}{Ge_x)$박막의 결정화거동)

  • The solid phase crystallization behavior of undoped amorphous $Si_{1-x}Ge_{x}$ (X=O to 0.53) alloyfilms was studied by X-ray diffractometry(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Thefilms were deposited on thermally oxidized 5" (100) Si wafer by MBE(Mo1ecular Beam Epitaxy) at 300'C and annealed in the temperature range of $500^{\circ}C$ ~ $625^{\circ}C$. From XRD results, it was found that the thermal budget for full crystallization of the film is significantly reduced as the Ge concentration in thefilm is increased. In addition, the results also shows that pure amorphous Si film crystallizes with astrong (111) texture while the $Si_{1-x}Ge_{x}$ alloy film crystallzes with a (311) texture suggesting that the solidphase crystallization mechanism is changed by the incorporation of Ge. TEM analysis of the crystallized filmshow that the grain morphology of the pure Si is an elliptical and/or a dendrite shape with high density ofcrystalline defects in the grains while that of the $Si_{0.47}Ge_{0.53}$ alloy is more or less equiaxed shape with muchlower density of defects. From these results, we conclude that the crystallization mechanism changes fromtwin-assisted growth mode to random growth mode as the Ge cocentration is increased.ocentration is increased.

Characterization of SiC nanowire Synthesized by Thermal CVD (열 화학기상증착법을 이용한 탄화규소 나노선의 합성 및 특성연구)

  • One-dimensional cubic phase silicon carbide nanowires (${\beta}$-SiC NWs) were efficiently synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition (TCVD) with mixtures containing Si powders and nickel chloride hexahydrate $(NiCl_2{\cdot}6H_2O)$ in an alumina boat with a carbon source of methane $(CH_4)$ gas. SEM images are shown that the growth temperature (T) of $1,300^{\circ}C$ is not enough to synthesize the SiC NWs owing to insufficient thermal energy for melting down a Si powder and decomposing the methane gas. However, the SiC NWs could be synthesized at T>$1,300^{\circ}C$ and the most efficient temperature for growth of SiC NWs is T=$1,400^{\circ}C$. The synthesized SiC NWs have the diameter with an average range between 50~150 nm. Raman spectra clearly revealed that the synthesized SiC NWs are forming of a cubic phase (${\beta}$-SiC). Two distinct peaks at 795 and $970 cm^{-1}$ in Raman spectra of the synthesized SiC NWs at T=$1,400^{\circ}C$ represent the TO and LO mode of the bulk ${\beta}$-SiC, respectively. XRD spectra are also supported to the Raman spectra resulting in the strongest (111) peaks at $2{\Theta}=35.7^{\circ}$, which is the (111) plane peak position of 3C-SiC. Moreover, the gas flow rate of 300 sccm for methane is the optimal condition for synthesis of a large amount of ${\beta}$-SiC NW without producing the amorphous carbon structure shown at a high methane flow rate of 800 sccm. TEM images are shown two kinds of the synthesized ${\beta}$-SiC NWs structures. One is shown the defect-free ${\beta}$-SiC NWs with a (111) interplane distance of 0.25 nm, and the other is the stacking-faulted ${\beta}$-SiC NWs. Also, TEM images exhibited that two distinct SiC NWs are uniformly covered with $SiO_2$ layer with a thickness of less 2 nm.

  • Despite rapid growth of the global SW market, the Korean market still has a long way to go to impact global power nations. What is the reason that holds back of the No. 1 high-speed Internet country in terms of SW development? It is lack of the foundation for development of the Korean SW industry. In this context, the Korean government declared SW-oriented society and developed polices for each sector; Regarding movement that tries to apply the SW partitioning order institution in public sector to IT projects, this research aims to study SI project problems expected when conducting the SW partitioning order institution and improvements focusing on the public sector that accounts for about 30% of the entire SW industry. SW partitioning order institution is divided into planning-design and development-realization stages, which may cause problems when it is applied to SI projects. As such, the study analyzed SI projects and separate and partitioning order, exemplary cases and examples of industrial projects related to partitioning order, and drew improvement measures from institutional, technological and managerial viewpoints. The research aims to help people involved in IT projects sell SW at proper prices and improve the environment, and presents directions to create a system that strengthens competitiveness of the SW industry and SI projects by providing solutions to problems that suppliers and demanders should recognize before implementing the SW partitioning order institution.

Thermoluminescent Response of Thin LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si Detectors to Beta Radiation (얇은 LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si 검출기의 베타선장에 대한 TL 반응)

  • Thermoluminescent (TL) response characteristics of a thin LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si Teflon detectors have been studied for use in beta radiation detection. The detectors were fabricated from a mixture of LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si phosphor and Teflon powder which was molded into a thin disk form of $50mg/cm^2$ thickness. These detectors were irradiated to beta fields of $^{147}Pm,\;^{204}Tl\;and\;^{90}Sr/^{90}Y$ sources with a covering of Kapton foil ($2mg/cm^2$) and photon irradiation was carried out with a $^{137}Cs$ source at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). Batch uniformity was estimated to be 4.7% and the beta dose response presented linear relationship from 0.1 mGy to 100 Gy. The beta energy responses of thin detectors normalized to $^{137}Cs$ were presented as 0.46, 1.09 and 1.06 for $^{147}Pm,\;^{204}Tl\;and\;^{90}Sr/^{90}Y$ beta rays, respectively. The evaluated values for angular responses were $0.93{\pm}0.03\;(^{147}Pm),\;0.94{\pm}0.04\;(^{204}Tl),\;and\;0.92{\pm}0.05\;(^{90}Sr/^{90}Y)$. The results satisfied well a proposed ISO Standard for beta ray dosimeters.

  • To understand the complex phenomena performed in steam explosion, the fast and global measurement of the steam distribution is imperative for this extremely rapid transient stimulation of the bubble breakup and coalescence due to turbulent eddies and shock waves. TROI, the experimental facility requests more robust sensor system to meet this requirement. In Europe, researchers are prefer a X-ray method but this method is very expensive and has limited measurement range. There is an alternative technology such as ECT. Because of TROI's geometry, however, we need axial tomography method. This paper reviews image reconstruction algorethms for axial tomography, including Tikhonov regularization and iterative Tikhonov regularization. Axial tomography method is examined by simulation and experiment for typical permittivity distributions. Future works in axial tomography technology is discussed.

  • In this study, a thermoelastic stress index of (100) oriented single crystalline silicon wafer and a relationship between thermal stress and critical plastic deformation temperatures were simulated. The simulated results for the thermoelastic stress index indicated a maximum value on <110> direction and a minimum on <100>. Then, it could be predicted that silicon wafer is plastically deformable over 1000 K, based on the relationship between the thermal stress derived from the thermoelastic stress index and the critical plastic deformation temperature.
