본 연구는 기상-수문 분야에서 고해상도 수문기상요소를 산출하기 위해 WRF-Hydro(Weather Research and Forecasting and Model Hydrological modeling extension package) 모형을 한반도 대상으로 구축하였다. 모형은 미국 대기 연구 국립센터(NOAA)에서 개발된 커뮤니티형 고해상도 예측모델이므로 미국 등에서 활발히 활용되기 시작하였으나 아직 우리나라 적용성에 대한 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 WRF-Hydro 모형을 한반도에 적절히 사용하기 위해 표면유출, 보수깊이, 표면거칠기와 같은 파라미터를 보정하였다. WRF-Hydro는 지역 기상모형인 WRF와 연계하여 coupled WRF/WRF-Hydro 모형을 구동하였으며, 고해상도 유출값을 얻기 위해 미국 지질조사국(USGS)에서 제공한 HydroSHEDS(Hydrological data and map based on SHuttle Elevation Derivatives at multiple Scales)를 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 관측된 유출값을 Markov Chain Monte Carlo(MCMC) 방법을 활용하여 모형값과 비교하여 파라미터 보정을 수행하였으며, 파라미터 보정된 WRF/WRF-Hydro를 활용해 한반도 과거 홍수 및 가뭄 사상을 모의하여 결과를 분석하였다.

The purpose of this study examines the fashion-related concerns of women in their early twenties and their personal thoughts on sociocultural factors through fashion. Data were collected twenty-seven female participants in their twenties in order to examine their traumas related to fashion and how these experiences affect their attitude toward clothing and fashion. Based on this, this study sheds light on what effects traumatic experiences have had on participants' self-esteem. It also provides an in-depth analysis of the problems underlying and reasons for the study participants' fashion choices, and attempts to demonstrate their self-reflection through fashion. Finding of the study was that the participants had a passive attitude toward fashion and built a wall against it. The study results suggest that the very first step to going beyond oneself and developing an active attitude is to try to be proactive and face a challenge related to fashion or clothes that one chooses oneself. Therefore, it is now time for Korean society to shape a culture that respects the unique qualities of every individual and allows free expression of diversity.

The purpose of this work is to analyze categorial character of Russian verbal aspect from the typological perspective. To do this, first of all we will examine the overall historical process of grammaticalization of Russian verbal aspect. As a result of analysis, we have suggested that against wide-spread general assumptions in this area Russian verbal aspect correspond rather to lexico-grammatical category, than to purely typical grammatical category. Actually, I think this kind of approach as a pivotal point for the study of Russian verbal aspect. For example, this kind of typological approach has great advantages in a sense that firstly it gives us possibility of breaking from notorious routine Slavic-Centrism, secondly it can explain sufficiently and adequately various lexico-semantic usages of Russian verbs. Thirdly, our approach consistently accounts for various interactions of lexico-semantic, grammatical, discourse-pragmatic levels, in which Russian verbal aspect is involved. And finally, it sheds light on functional interactions between verbal categories, such as aspect, tense, and mood.

In order to improve the educational situation in which the natural number e and the natural logarithm are dealt with somewhat perfunctorily, this study explores the genetic process in which the natural logarithm and its base e occurred, and has an educational discussion based on that analysed process. Specifically, the study inquires into how the natural logarithm happened in relation to the quadrature of the hyperbolic curves through analysis and thought experimentation in mathematics history. Particularly, it sheds light on the role of e and the naturalness of the natural logarithm in terms of the introduction of the real number exponent. Also, this study discusses what the findings suggest educationally.

This paper is an effort to critique the heteronormative interpretations of Kate Chopin's The Awakening and to examine the relationships of three women-Edna Pontellier, Adele Ratignolle, Mademoiselle Reisz-in the homosocial climate of the Grand Isle. Through the disclosure of erotic encounters between these women and their deferred gratification, Chopin reveals the social imperative which suppresses and fixates female desire on a male object choice. Chopin also sheds light upon the masculine language appropriating romance and chivalry that renders it impossible for Edna to articulate her sexuality within the matrix of the phallocentric society. The Awakening is not a conventionalized plot which ends in Edna's subordination to the patriarchal order; rather, the story demonstrates the "process" of how her sexual awakening becomes negotiated under the patriarchal system and exposes the excess of desire that fails to be subsumed under the hegemonic discourse.

Alternate reality games (ARGs) are a game genre with characteristics that can lead to changes in current integrated media environments. While technical combinations are being pursued as diverse media are utilized based on formative aspects, the representative, narrative combination of the real and the virtual is a convergent factor in narrative structures. Through perspectives that perceive transmedia storytelling-which has brought convergence to communication among gamers-as having a structure and utility that can outclass previous game forms, this study focuses on ARGs, which have features that converge reality and virtual reality. Further, the study reveals the structure and utility of that system. This study sheds light convergent storytelling, which is in demand in the transmedia age, and which will serve as a significant investigation with regard to social perceptions of future games and changes in game form.

This paper examines professional and popular medical discourse on "mongolism" (Down syndrome) in the early twentieth century to delve into the history of mongolism and the "Oriental imaginary" of modern America. The Oriental imaginary is a concept to explore the ways in which Americans, who had heard of mongolism or seen a "Mongol" themselves, imagined and conceptualized the defect in terms of the contemporary race relations. Moving beyond the interests of medical professionals discussed in the previous scholarship, this paper aims to include views and perceptions of the American public. The second section reviews the existing studies of the history of mongolism in the West. The third section discusses the mongolism of Asians and African Americans, among whom it had long been believed not to occur. Lastly, an analysis of American newspaper health advice columns on mongolism sheds light on the public reception and transmission of medical knowledge.

Increasing soil salinity is one of the global challenges that the agriculture sector in Egypt has been facing; 33% of the cultivated land in Egypt, which includes merely 3% of the entire land area, is already salinized. The present review sheds light on the role of fungal biopriming, a technique in which hydrated seeds are inoculated with beneficial fungal flora, in mitigating the deleterious influence of NaCl tension. Endophytic fungi were recognized to be able to interact with several plant species, markedly contributing to the mitigation of NaCl stress in these plants, such that some plants get impoverished to their absent associated microbes under stressful conditions.

This study is on a Boolean B or Boolean lattice L in abstract algebra with closed binary operation *, complement and distributive properties. Both Binary operations and logic properties dominate this set. A lattice sheds light on binary operations and other algebraic structures. In particular, the construction of the elements of this L set from idempotent elements, our definition of k-order idempotent has led to the expanded definition of the definition of the lattice theory. In addition, a lattice offers clever solutions to vital problems in life with the concept of logic. The restriction on a lattice is clearly also limit such applications. The flexibility of logical theories adds even more vitality to practices. This is the main theme of the study. Therefore, the properties of the set elements resulting from the binary operation force the logic theory. According to the new definition given, some properties, lemmas and theorems of the lattice theory are examined. Examples of different situations are given.
