This paper examines a social and cultural history of horror films through the keyword "technology", focusing on The Spark of Fear: Technology, Society and the Horror Film (2015) written by Brian N. Duchaney. Science fiction film is closely connected with technology in film genres. On the other hand, horror films have been explained in terms of nature/supernatural. In this regard, The Spark of Fear, which accounts for horror film history as (re)actions to the development of technology, is remarkable. Early horror films which were produced under the influence of gothic novels reflected the fear of technology that had been caused by industrial capitalism. For example, in the film Frankenstein (1931), an angry crowd of people lynch the "monster", the creature of technology. This is the action which is aroused by the fear of technology. Furthermore, this mob behavior is suggestive of an uprising of people who have been alienated by industrial capitalism during the Great Depression. In science fiction horror films, which appeared in the post-war boom, the "other" that manifests as aliens is the entity that destroys the value of prosperity during post-war America. While this prosperity is closely related to the life of the middle class in accordance with the suburbanization, the people live conformist lives under the mantle of technologies such as the TV, refrigerator, etc. In the age of the Vietnam War, horror films demonize children, the counter-culture generation against a backdrop of the house that is the place of isolation and confinement. In this place, horror arises from the absolute absence of technology. While media such as videos, internet, and smartphones have reinforced interconnectedness with the outside world since the 1980s, it became another outside influence that we cannot control. "Found-footage" and "torture porn" which were rife in post-9/11 horror films show that the technologies of voyeurism/surveillance and exposure/exhibitionism are near to saturation. In this way, The Spark of Fear provides an opportune insight into the present day in which the expectation and fear of the progress of technology are increasingly becoming inseparable from our daily lives.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of positive and negative emotion on the quality of life(QoL) in each Sasang contitution, using Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule(PANAS) and Short Form-12 Health Survey Questionnaire(SF-12) questionnaire. Methods A total of 1,123 participants completed the Korean version of the PANAS and SF-12 questionnaire. The participants were classified into one Sasang constitution by QSCC II. The effects of emotion on the QoL were compared between the each Sasang contitution using analysis of variance(ANOVA). Results We found significant differences between constitutions in Positive Affect(PA), PA-Joy, PA-Interest and PA-Activation of PANAS. And we found significant differences between constitutions in Mental Component Summary(MCS) of SF-12. Negative correlation of less -0.4 was shown in Negative Affect(NA), NA-Afraid, NA-Upset of PANAS and MCS of SF-12. Conclusions The Soyangin has significantly higher score than Soeumin in PA, PA-Joy, PA-Interest and PA-Activation of PANAS as previous studies. This study also shows the correlation between negative emotion and decline in the quality of mental status.

I analyze orange that is consistently used, even though not consciously, in the films whose function and meaning are clear. In detail, there are examples of color in films, psychological phenomena of colors expressed in posters and opening titles, color characteristics of clothes and costumes, and semiotic analysis of color names in film titles. (1) Fact and Truth; civilization and criticism. The film tries to tell the truth than the fact. It represents facts as it is, but it presupposes truth. This is a unique characteristic of media films. The truth of the fact is not important. The film tells the truth believing and wanting to show off. The film, which has inherent characteristics of the gap between fact and truth, represents nature and civilization. It carries nature as it is and criticizes the harm of civilization. Orange is nature and civilization. Realistic films such as Hong Sang Soo and Kim Ki Duk, fall into this category. For example, there are A Taxi Driver(2017) and I Can Speak(2017). (2) Virtual History; fake images and memories. In Hollywood SF genres like The Matrix(1999), orange was dealt with virtual reality. However, in Korean films they are replaced by historical dramas. The representation of history becomes a virtual reality. Films such as The Fortress(2017), Masquerade(2012), and Roaring Currents(2014) deal with virtual history. In these films, orange is a fake image and memory. (3) Light=color; Aura. The color and light of orange is aura. At sunrise and sunset, the orange of the incandescent light is almost similar to that of the artificial light. Orange of tungsten makes the real characters surrealistic and mysterious. For example, there are The City of Madness(2016), The Man from Nowhere(2010), and Coinlocker Girl(2014). (4) Fantasy; communication with other worlds. Orange is a sweet fantasy. In our daily life, we go to a supermarket, share a chat with friends in a coffee shop, and spend time in front of a television. Orange makes our life free and dreams. It is the communication between the former being and the other world. This can be found in the sexual fantasy scenes of all genres. For example, there are Sunny(2011), Welcome To Dongmakgol(2005), and 200 Pounds Beauty(2006).

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find the association between personality pattern and quality of life according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods: The 529 subjects whose constitutions had been confirmed by the experts on the base of drug response were recruited. Personality questionnaire was composed of 15 personal characteristics items measuring the influence of yin/yang and health estimating instrument was SF-12 evaluating the quality of life. Two-way ANOVA was conducted to analyze the Sasang Constitutional difference according to personality pattern. 3. Results: There were 5 different items in PCS(physical component summary), 7 different items in MCS(mental component summary). The individual scores of 3 items - give up easily/stand, decide easily/hard and be exited easily/rationalwere different according to the Sasang Constitution. 4. Conclusions: We suggest that psychological factors may affect the health state, especially might affect the health state of Sasang Constitution differently.

Objectives : We intended to know the association between Psychosocial Well-being Index(PWI) and health behaviors and also know the useful health guide according to Sasang Constitution Methods : We recruited the 137 subjects from oriental medical clinics around the country and the expert diagnosed Sasang constitution with drug response guide. We used the PWI-SF paper to estimate psychosocial well-being. We used excel program and analyzed with SPSS 14.0K Results : 1. PWI were associated with no passive smoking, everyday regular exercise, eating anything, much eating vegetable and sea-food, no eating snacks. 2. PWI were associated with no passive smoking, 4-5 times regular exercise a week, unconcern in sanitary thought, less or normal amount of meals in Soeumin, no smoking in Taeeumin, and there were not particularly associated ones in Soyangin Conclusions : Health behaviors for PWI are a little different according to Sasang Constitution.

1. Objectives: We aimed to know what are different in physiological and pathological symptoms associated with health state according to Sasang Constitution in women 2. Methods: We recruited 338 women between 10 and 80, excluding individuals who have physically or psychologically serious disease, or women in pregnancy among Korean population in Traditional Korea Clinics. We used CRF(Case Report Form, C-2009-002439) as measurement of physiological and pathological symptoms and SF-36 (Short Form-36) as measurement of health state We analyzed association between physiological and pathological symptoms and health state with Two-way ANOVA 3. Results: There are 9 different symptoms associated with health state, such as digestion state, uncomfortable problem in belly, indigestion in bad condition, abnormal sweat, night sweat, clean in urine, no problem in urine, feel heavy in chest according to Sasang constitution. 4. Conclusions: Physiological and pathological symptoms are associated with health state and some symptoms associated with health state are different according to Sasang Constitution in women.

This study aimed to know the association between health practices(Alameda 7) and health state according to Sasang Constitution. We recruited 204 subjects whose age were between 10 and 80, excluding individuals who have physically or psychologically serious diseases, and women in pregnancy among Korean population in Traditional Korea Clinics. They were diagnosed by Sasang constitution specialists and confirmed clinically with Sasang constitution drug response with past medical records. We used the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36) to estimate health state related with quality of life. We statistically analyzed association using SPSS 17.0K for window. According to Sasang Constitution, smoking and exercising were associated with health degree in Tae-eumin, smoking, drinking, diet and snacking in So-eumin, and past smoking, drinking, sleeping and exercising in So-yangin. These results suggest that there are different health practices for health promotion according to Sasang constitution. Therefore we have to consider the differences of Sasang constitution in health care plan.

In the display of virtual space, the degree of space virtualization cannot be judged only by the degree of material technology. Based on the non-material relationship, the virtual space that this research focuses on is a conceptual and ontological point of view (based on the conceptual and ontological viewpoints of non-material relations), including practical technical issues. The research on the characteristics of virtual space ontology not only has an impact on the space design of science fiction movies, but also becomes a powerful medium that brings changes to the world. In the future, there will be a large number of cases where fantasy things in science fiction movies are actualized. From this perspective, based on the study of several science fiction movies using virtual reality scenes, this paper puts forward a study on the representation characteristics of virtual space ontology. In addition, the study of the virtual reality is of great significance for verifying the possibility of virtual reality in the application of deep space technology in the future. At the same time, it provides reference value for the development of special effects film field from montage theory-based to Bazin theory-based expression, and contributes to the theoretical system of film space.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the characteristics of American film (genre drama) through the analysis of , which merits our attention because the proportion of domestic gross earnings to foreign gross earnings is four to one. It means that the cultural discount rate of this film is relatively higher than the films which belong to the other genres, for example adventure, action, fantasy, SF etc. And it would be correct to say that this film is typically american. What is the reason of this difference of cultural discount rate? And what allows this film to be defined as a typical American film. The analysis of shows that the difference doesn't result from the actant structure. In fact the narrative structure of this film is similar to the other films of drama genre like or : the common structure of drama genre is characterized by an encounter of sujet and adjuvant and the progress of their relationship. But the drama is a genre in which the reflection of the actualities is important as compared with other genres. In that sense the story of is based upon the American cultural characteristics. Because the process that realize the progress of relationship between two protagonists is typically American such as race problem, adoption system, concept of family, system of education and going to college etc. As a result it is possible that move less the worldwide spectators than the American spectators.

Conventional image quality studies have been focused on 'naturalness' and has relied on memory color. Memory colors are mainly formed for familiar objects with prior experience, and the more faithfully these memories are reflected, the more naturalness of the reproduced image quality increases. In particular, the brightness and saturation of memory colors play an important role in increasing the preference of image quality as well as naturalness. Therefore, in the case of existing image quality studies, image quality characteristics were studied focusing on natural objects and people with memory. We extracted representative images of each genre (sports, documentaries, news, entertainment and music, and movies), adjusted the brightness, contrast, and saturation of each image, and conducted an experiment to evaluate perceived quality. Based on situational context, the results of this classification indicated that genres of television content can be divided into two categories: proximate and indirect experiences. Proximate experience best characterizes outdoor sports, dramas, and nature documentaries, where their image qualities have shown to have a strong correlation with brightness and contrast. On the other hand, indirect experience best characterizes news, music shows and SF/action movies. The image quality perception for indirect experiences was shown to be closely related to and optimized by contrast and saturation.
