천공상태에 따른 오피스 창호의 적정 투과율 선정 (Selection to the Optimal Windows Transmittance of Office Building on Sky Conditions)

  • The purpose of this study is to select the optimal and minimum transmittance for visual amenity in office buildings. This study progressed as follows. The first, we select 5 films with various transmittance based on the current film makers whose films being used on the windows of office building nowadays and the case study of construction. And then we choose 6 kinds of transmittance as evaluation object including plain glass. The second, we made a mock-up models having different transmittance on the southern windows with model of real scale office building. The third, we select 17 pairs of adjectives for the evaluation of visual comfort on interior or exterior conditions with transmittance factor. The fourth, subjective evaluation experiment was done using selected evaluation adjectives and the result was analyzed. The results are as follows : the minimum transmittance appropriate for the office building is 30%∼40% and the optimal transmittance range is 40%∼60%.

Dynamic Compressed Representation of Texts with Rank/Select

  • Given an n-length text T over a $\sigma$-size alphabet, we present a compressed representation of T which supports retrieving queries of rank/select/access and updating queries of insert/delete. For a measure of compression, we use the empirical entropy H(T), which defines a lower bound nH(T) bits for any algorithm to compress T of n log $\sigma$ bits. Our representation takes this entropy bound of T, i.e., nH(T) $\leq$ n log $\sigma$ bits, and an additional bits less than the text size, i.e., o(n log $\sigma$) + O(n) bits. In compressed space of nH(T) + o(n log $\sigma$) + O(n) bits, our representation supports O(log n) time queries for a log n-size alphabet and its extension provides O(($1+\frac{{\log}\;{\sigma}}{{\log}\;{\log}\;n}$) log n) time queries for a $\sigma$-size alphabet.

순간전압강하 평가에 기반한 최적 보상기기 선정 방법 (Method to Select Optimal Device for Mitigating Voltage Sag Based on Voltage Sag Assessment)

  • This paper presents a method to select optimal device for mitigating voltage sags. The method is based on economic evaluation and voltage sag assessment involving sag duration as well as magnitude. The economic evaluation is performed by using the operation cost and economic benefit of the mitigation devices. The optimal device can be determined from the values of NPV (net present value) which is widely accepted in cost-benefit analysis. The proposed method can help sensitive customers to select optimal mitigation device. In this paper, the case study considering two sensitive customers was performed by using the proposed method.

Two-Stage Penalized Composite Quantile Regression with Grouped Variables

  • This paper considers a penalized composite quantile regression (CQR) that performs a variable selection in the linear model with grouped variables. An adaptive sup-norm penalized CQR (ASCQR) is proposed to select variables in a grouped manner; in addition, the consistency and oracle property of the resulting estimator are also derived under some regularity conditions. To improve the efficiency of estimation and variable selection, this paper suggests the two-stage penalized CQR (TSCQR), which uses the ASCQR to select relevant groups in the first stage and the adaptive lasso penalized CQR to select important variables in the second stage. Simulation studies are conducted to illustrate the finite sample performance of the proposed methods.

  • In this paper, a memory organization and its control method are proposed for the implementation of parallel Virterbi decoders. The design is mainly focused on lowering the hardware complexity of a parallel Viterbi decoder which is to reduce the decoding speed. The memories requeired in a Viterbi decoder are the SMM(State Metric Memory) and the TBM(Traceback Memory);the SMM for storing the path metrics of states and the TBM for storing the survial path information. A general parallel Viterbi decoder for high datarate usually consists of multiple ACS (Add-Compare-Select) units and their corresponding memeory modules.for parallel ACS units, SMMs and TBMs are partitioned into smaller independent pairs of memory modules which are separately interleaved to provide the maximum processing speed. In this design SMMs are controlled with addrss generators which can simultaneously compute addresses of the new path metrics. A bit shuffle technique is employed to provide a parallel access to the TBMs to store the survivor path informations from multiple ACS modules.

전문가 시스템을 응용한 외주 업체 선정 시스템 설계 (Design of Vender Selecting System Application to Expert System)

  • The purpose of this thesis addresses a development of an expert system to support a decision making of the vender selection. The researches related to the vender selection problems have been studied and they provide 23 criteria to select proper venders. In this thesis, 8 criteria have been used to construct a knowledge base of the expert system. The system in this thesis consists of 6 steps in its procedure. Step 1 decides a specification that satisfies customer's needs and Step 2 chooses a part supplied by a vender. The type of an outside order is decided in Step 3 and some venders satisfying the customer's needs are selected in Step 4. Some of the venders chosen from step 4 which do not satisfy the fatal cirteria(that is Quality, Delivery, Price) can be deleted in Step 5. In the last step, 8 cirteria is used to select 3 venders according to their ranking. Consequently, this program provides for a man, who does not have the experiances, an efficient way to select appropriate venders in the vender selection problems.

  • This study reviews the engineering properties of vegetation as one of all factors to select vegetation species for slope protection. The vegetation species mainly applied in domestic soil slope protection were inspected, and the root properties such as root pattern, root length, root weight, were analyzed. And then direct shear tests on undisturbed fine sand including roots were performed to review the effect of root reinforcement. From these analyses, it was concluded that the engineering properties of vegetation should be considered to select vegetation species for slope protection.

  • 하나의 보드에 대한 소자들의 테스팅을 위해서 IEEE 1149.1이 제안되었고 완전한 테스팅을 지원한다. 하지만 여러 보드에 대해서는 불가능하여 IEEE 1149.1을 확장한 시스템 레벨의 테스팅 방법이 제안되었다. 기존의 IEEE 1149.1을 확장한 방법은 보드 레벨의 테스팅과 시스템 레벨의 테스팅이 하나의 데이터 패스에 의해서 테스트 시간이 길고 비효율적이다. 본 논문에서는 보드 레벨 테스팅과 시스템 레벨 테스팅을 구분하여 불필요한 테스트 데이터 이동을 줄여 테스트 시간을 줄이고 효율적인 방법을 제시한다. 그리고 이를 지원하기 위한 Path Select Unit을 설계한다. 구현된 PSU는 작은 게이트 사이즈로 적은 테스트 비용으로도 효율적으로 시스템 레벨 테스팅이 가능해진다.

Ascophyllum Nodosum Supplementation Strategies That Improve Overall Carcass Merit of Implanted English Crossbred Cattle

  • English crossbred steers (n = 32) and heifers (n = 32) were fed a corn-based finishing diet and supplemented with 2% Ascophyllum nodosum on a DM basis to for various feeding stages of the 119 d feeding period determine the supplementation strategy that maximized intramuscular fat deposition as determined by quality grade. All cattle were implanted with Ralgro$^{(R)}$ on d 36 of the trial and re-implanted with Revalor-S$^{(R)}$ or Revalor-H$^{(R)}$ on d 92. Cattle were blocked by sex and divided into one control and three treatment groups receiving Ascophyllum nodosum. Treatment 1 (trt 1) received Ascophyllum nodosum from d 36 to 50 of the feeding period, trt 2 received Ascophyllum nodosum for the last 14 d of the feeding period, and trt 3 which received Ascophyllum nodosum for both d 36-50 and the last 14 d of the feeding period. Cattle were weighted initially ($385{\pm}4.53kg$) and every 28 d following until they reach an average BW of $554{\pm}7.46kg$. No effect for Ascophyllum nodosum supplementation was found on measured performance characteristics. All treatment groups supplemented with Ascophyllum nodosum had higher actual marbling scores (p<0.05) than controls. Trt 1 was found to have a highest marbling score (572.5; p<0.05), whereas the control group having the lowest marbling score (473.8). Trt 1 had a higher quality grade (5.25; p<0.05) than the control (3.94) group, but did not differ from trt 2 (4.56; p = 0.105) and trt 3 (4.75; p = 0.236) where high Select = 4, and low Choice = 5. Trt 2 did not differ from trt 3 (p = 0.655), or the control group (p = 0.140) for quality grade. However, trt 3 did tend to differ (p = 0.057) from the control group for quality grade. Control group animals graded 25% Choice, 62.5% Select; trt 1 graded 75% Choice, 18.8% Select; trt 2 graded 62.5% Choice, 25% Select and trt 3 graded 56.3% Choice and 31.2% Select. Overall, treatment groups had a 39.6% increase in Choice quality grade and a 37.5% decrease in Select quality grade when compared to the control animals.

동해의 장구형 통발에 대한 빨간횟대 (Alcichthys alcicornis)의 망목선택성 (Mesh Selectivity of Durm Net Fish Trap for Elkhorn sculpin(Alcichthys alcicornis) in the Eastern Sea of Korea)

  • 동해안의 연안성 어족인 빨간횟대에 대해 망목크기 등을 달리한 8종류의 장구형 통발을 사용하여, 2003년 6월부터 12월까지 총 6차례에 걸쳐 어선 2척을 용선하여 조업한 어획실험으로부터 망목선택성 곡선을 구하여 합리적인 자원관리에 대한 기초 자료를 구하고자 하였다. 망목 크기가 20mm와 35mm인 두 통발의 빨간횟대 어획물로부터 체장에 따른 어획비율의 차이에 대해 특별한 경향을 발견할 수 없었다. 망목 크기가 20mm와 55mm인 두 통발의 경우에 대해 SELECT방법을 이용하여 equal split model 과 estimated split model을 적용한 결과, AIC 값이 적은 전자가 더 적절한 모델이므로, 빨간횟대의 경우는 이들 두 통발에 대한 입망률의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 망목 55mm의 통발에서 SELECT 모델로 구한 50% 어획될 빨간횟대의 전장은 22.0cm였다. 망목 크기가 20mm, 35mm, 55mm인 통발의 어획 자료에 Kitahara의 방법으로 logistic식을 적용하여 추정된 선택성 곡선식은 $s(R)\;=\;\frac{1}{1+exp(-0.3545R+2.141)$와 같았고, 현재 규정 망목 크기인 35mm 장구형 통발에 대해 50% 어획될 빨간횟대의 전장은 21.4cm이었다.
