In pointer adjustment systems, 3 byte SDH clocks are controlled for synchronization. Therefore large jitter is generated in that systems. Bit stuffing technique was introduced as method for reducing pointer adjustment jitter. However, the jitter generated in this systems is also not so small. In this paper, the problems in the bit leaking system are analyzed and new bit stuffing technique is introduced to reduce the jitter sufficiently.

Network protection has been mainly applied to trunk network. PTP, ring, linear, mesh topologies of SONET/SDH system and 565 Mbps PDH systems are among those examples. But, as larger capacity PON system is introduced, protection in access network system also becomes necessary. In this paper, an efficient EPON protection scheme utilizing the EPON's frame and protocol is proposed and the implementation results showing protection within 1 msec are provided.

In this paper, A VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in use of clock recovery/data regeneration circuit for 10 Gbps fiber optic receivers was developed. The improved hair-pin resonator with a parallel coupled lines, which has been applied to microstrip filters, was used as a resonance part. As a frequcncy tuning device by substituting 3-terminalMESFET vaaractor for varactor diode, an MMIC manufacturing process will be simplified. Since a hair-pin resonator is planar type compared to the dielectric resonator and has a relatively flat reactance verus frequency, it will be favorable to apply a hair-pin resonator to an MMIC, in addition wideband frequency tuning range is able to be obtained.

Genetic variations of Semisulcospjra gottschei in Korea were investigated by means of starch gel-electrophoresis. The results are as follows; 1) Eight loci of ${\alpha}$-Gpd, Mdh-2, Pept-1, Pgm-2, Gp-1, Gp-2, Gp-3 and Gp-4 were monomorphic, and 8 loci of Mpi, Mdh-1, Pgi, Got, Pept-2, Pept-3, Pgm-1 and Sdh showed genetic variations. 2) Means of allele per locus ($\bar{A}$) and polymorphism (P) were revealed 0.64 and 0.44, respectively. The value of heterozygosity ($H_G$) showed a little more than heterozygosity $H_D$. ($H_D$=0.09, $H_G$=0.13) 3) Genetic variation appears to be due to loci of Got, Pept, Pgi, and Sdh, all of which of the $H_D$ values are high.

In these days, wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) all-optical network are being deployed to support various multimedia communication services. In this paper, various WDM all-optical network are discussed, and a design of an all-optical backbone network has been proposed by using multiple self-healing ring technology. The proposed multiple self-healing ring network improves network expandability and efficiency of bandwidth, while it retains simplicity and ease of network control, which are from the nature self-healing ring. Using PDI traffic modeling technique, a well-balanced all-optical backbone network using multiple self-healing ring is designed for the 2010s in Korea.

A 64-year-old man with TBI was admitted to our institute. In following days, he showed unusual behavior of agitation, restlessness, emotional instability and inattention. Post-traumatic delirium was tentatively diagnosed, and donepezil was given for his cognitive dysfunction. Although there was partial relief of agitation, he sustained back pain despite medication. Lumbar magnetic resonance image revealed SDH along the whole lumbar spine, and surgical drainage was followed. Postoperatively, his agitation disappeared and further medication was discontinued. We report a unique case of post-traumatic delirium in a patient with concomitant TBI and spinal subdural hemorrhage (SDH) that resolved with operative drainage of spinal hemorrhage.

The incidences of liver abscess, fatty liver and fascioliasis were 11.9%, 23.2％ and 36.0%, respectively in 211 Holstein cattle observed at the slaughter house. Blood chemical values of them were measured. The results were as follows : 1. Liver abscess group was significantly higher than normal group in the levels of SDH, AST, TP, globulin and fibrinogen, but it was significantly lower than normal group in the levels of albumin and A/G ratio (p<0.01). 2. Fatty liver group was significantly higher than normal group in the levels of SDH, AST, OCT, TP and globulin, but it was significantly lower than normal group in the levels of albumin and A/G ratio (p<0.01). 3. Fasciolisais group was significantly higher than normal group in the levels of AST. TP and globulin (p<0.01), but it was significantly lower than normal group in the levels of albumin and A/G ratio (p<0.01).
