  • Symbolic data analysis extends the data mining and exploratory data analysis to the knowledge mining, we can suggest the SDA tree model on clinical and genomic data with new knowledge mining SDA approach. Using SDA application for huge genomic SNP data, we can get the correlation the availability of understanding of hidden structure of HCC data could be proved. We can confirm validity of application of SDA to the tree structured progression model and to quantify the clinical lab data and SNP data for early diagnosis of HCC. Our proposed model constructs the representative model for HCC survival time and causal association with their SNP gene data. To fit the simple and easy interpretation tree structured survival model which could reduced from huge clinical and genomic data under the new statistical theory of knowledge mining with SDA.

  • To observe propagation characteristics of microstrip lines on YIG film, the FDTD is employed. For various GGG substrate and YIG film, the dispersion curves and the bandwidth of the cutoff region are calculated. And the distribution of the electric fields of the transverse plane underneath the conductor strip is obtained near upper and lower cutoff frequency. The results of two and three dimensional FDTD for the upper cutoff frequency are compared with spectral domain approach(SDA). A good agreement is verified, although there is relative error 6% between the results calculated by the two methods.

  • We propose a novel hierarchical clustering for distribution valued dissimilarities. Analysis of large and complex data has attracted significant interest. Symbolic Data Analysis (SDA) was proposed by Diday in 1980's, which provides a new framework for statistical analysis. In SDA, we analyze an object with internal variation, including an interval, a histogram and a distribution, called a symbolic object. In the study, we focus on a cluster analysis for distribution valued dissimilarities, one of the symbolic objects. A hierarchical clustering has two steps in general: find out step and update step. In the find out step, we find the nearest pair of clusters. We extend it for distribution valued dissimilarities, introducing a measure on their order relations. In the update step, dissimilarities between clusters are redefined by mixture of distributions with a mixing ratio. We show an actual example of the proposed method and a simulation study.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of frequency dependent dispersion are analyzed for the phase shifters in Ku-band phased array antenna system using full-wave method, SDA(Spectral Domain Approach). The design technique of asymmetric coupled-line phase shifter with dielectric overlay is proposed. The compared results of phase responses are shown with conventional symmetric coupled-line Schiffman phase shifter. The experimental results verify the improvement of broadband characteristics by the increasing bandwidths and the decreasing phase deviations.

  • The present research work is on the effect of sawdust ash (SDA) on the mechanical strengths of self compacting concrete (SCC) using naphthalene sulfonate (NS) as a plasticizer. Experiments on compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths are conducted and the data analyzed using the Minitab 15 software. The results showed that SDA can defer the reaction of cement hydration and prolong the setting times of cement paste. This was very much pronounced on the flexural and splitting tensile strengths at 90 days of curing which are 36 % and 33 % higher than the control strengths, respectively. The study has proposed strength relations of mortar compressive strength with the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and these are, 5 and 7 times respectively. The flexural strength is 1.5 times that of the splitting tensile. Finally, linear models were developed on these relationships.

  • The cotton leafroll dwarf virus (CLRDV) is one of the most devastating pathogens of cotton. This malady, known as cotton blue disease, is widespread in South America where it causes huge crop losses. Recently the disease has been reported from India. We noticed occurrence of cotton blue disease and chickpea stunt disease in adjoining cotton and chickpea fields and got interested in knowing if these two viral diseases have some association. By genetic studies, we have shown here that CLRDV is very close to chickpea stunt disease associated virus (CpSDaV). We were successful in transmitting the CLRDV from cotton to chickpea. Our studies indicate that CpSDaV and CLRDV in India are possibly two different strains of the same virus. These findings would be helpful in managing these serious diseases by altering the cropping patterns.

  • The paper established a new method for fast measurement and characterizing of sub-visible dirt of recycled paper which is too small to be seen with naked eye. This method provided a new way for the evaluation of recycled paper that is hard to be characterized by the conventional method. Two effective thresholding algorithms HA and SDA were compared and their applicable conditions were discussed. Results showed that the HA could be used for un-printed paper while SDA is suited for recycled papers. The gloss of paper samples was measured and the relation between gloss and sub-visible dirt was investigated. The significant effect of this method for characterizing and comparing paper was exhibited. The experiment results indicated that sub-visible dirt measuring method could be a complementariness of the conventional methods.

  • The introduction of chlorpromazine in the 1950's revolutionized the treatment of schizophrenia and ultimately led to the development of selective $D_2$ antagonists such as haloperidol, a goal in keeping with the prevalent theories at that time. However, limitations in the efficacy of these agents, a growing awareness of their side effects, and theoretical shifts in our understanding of schizophrenia have encouraged ongoing efforts to develop better 'atypical' antipsychotics. Clozapine, and subsequently risperidone, represent examples of these novel compounds, both of which incorporate shared serotonin-dopamine antagonism(SDA). The next years will be dominated by further development of SDA compounds, although a number of other lines of investigation are also being pursued.
