Correlationship among Smartphone Screen Time, Cervical Alignment, and Muscle Function in University Students

  • Objective: The popularization of smartphones can lead to abnormal cervical alignment in university students. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship among smartphone screen time, cervical alignment, and muscle function in university students. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Seventy-five university students participated in the study. They completed the evaluation of cervical alignment and muscle function, such as handgrip strength, proprioception, and muscle quality (tone, stiffness, and relaxation time). All participants recorded their general characteristics and individual smartphone screen time before the evaluation. They were evaluated craniovertebral angle (CVA) using smartphone application (angle meter 360) for measuring cervical alignment. The muscle function was assessed using a digital hand-held dynamometer, dual inclinometer, and MyotonPRO device. Results: Of all participants, twenty-five university students had forward head posture (CVA<49°, 33.33%). Independent t-test revealed that there were significant differences on smartphone screen time, muscle stiffness, and muscle relaxation between the participants with and without forward head posture (p<0.05). There were significant correlations between the smartphone screen time and the CVA, muscle tone, and muscle relaxation (r=-0.493, 0.250, and -0.500, respectively). Conclusions: The results indicate that the university students with forward head posture had high smartphone screen time and muscle stiffness compared to the students without forward head posture, and smartphone screen time might be associated with cervical alignment and muscle quality.

CRT 모니터의 감성품질 정량화를 위한 심물리학적 접근: White Uniformity 품질 평가 (A Psychophysical Approach to evaluating the perceived image quality of CRT: White Uniformity Quality)

  • White uniformity is one of the important inspection factors determining the image quality of CRT screen. In the full white pattern, white uniformity means the degree of uniform distribution of white color across the whole screen. To elicit the sensitivity factors affecting the decision of the white uniformity quality, experiments in which participants were confronted with 6 evaluation points embedded in 3 measurement groups on a CRT screen were conducted to gather the psychophysical data that are the level of white uniformity subjects perceived and CA100 produced. These data were used to develop a modified CIE1976 equation for calculating white uniformity. Performance comparison between the original CIE1976 equation and the modified equation was conducted in terms of accuracy test and magnitude estimation. It was concluded the modified equation is more sensitive in the change of white uniformity, compared to the original CIE1976 equation.

유리섬유 복합재료를 이용한 화재 비상통로용 스크린 소재 성능에 관한 연구 (The Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society)

  • 초고층 복합시설은 수많은 사람들이 이용하고 있는 도심의 핵심시설로서 안전성을 최우선으로 하고 있으며, 화재발생 시 연기와 유독가스는 대형사고를 유발할 수 있다. 본 연구는 초고층 복합시설물에서 화재에 의한 재난이 발생했을 경우, 피난자들이 신속히 안전한 곳으로 피할 수 있는 비상 대피통로용 접이장치에 적용되는 섬유 스크린 소재를 개발하는 데 목적이 있다. 섬유 스크린 소재 개발 방향은 일반적으로 사용되는 철제 소재와 달리 접이장치 내 롤형태로 장기간 보관 시 하중 부담이 적은 경량일 것과 차염/차연 기능이 우수해야 하며 복사열에 의한 피난자의 영향이 적어야 할 것이다. 이에 대해 난연성이 우수한 원단과 후가공을 조건으로 3종의 섬유 스크린 소재를 선정하여 열수축시험, 접촉열시험, 연소성시험, 난연도시험, 인장강도시험, 인열강도시험을 통해 성능평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과 경량의 원단이라도 후가공을 통해 우수한 성능을 발휘할 수 있으며, 실리콘수지 코팅이 섬유 스크린 소재 성능과 복사열에 의한 대피자의 안전을 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 무게와 두께가 상이한 유리섬유 2종과 난연 실리콘수지 4종을 대상으로 코팅을 한 후 연소성시험을 수행하여 최적의 후가공조건을 평가하였다.

고령자를 고려한 내비게이션의 인간공학적 설계에 관한 연구 (Ergonomic Designs of Car Navigation for Elderly Users)

  • Today, the number of elderly drivers who use navigation is increasing with the growing number of elderly drivers. The purpose of this study is to provide guidelines on the interface of car navigation for elderly users. To extract significant factors which were distinguished between young and elderly users, both young and elderly users executed the driving test by installing two car navigation alternatives. The analysis was conducted through t-test. The results show that significantly different factors were the number and the meaning of the menu items in the initial screen, the location and the meaning of the menu icons in the map screen, the ease of search of the menu and the text size in the menu screen. Improvements for the factors of the initial screen and map screen were made with reference to ergonomic guidelines, and suggested through experiments comparing design alternatives for the menu screen. Design alternatives were made through a combination of investigative variables, and the analysis was conducted through ANOVA. The results show that Alternative 7 (the location of the tab was placed at the bottom, menu representation was done with the text font size of 18pt and the location of menu navigation icons was shown at the upper left) was preferred in terms of user's preference and the execution time. So if the suggested menu for elderly users are added to the existing design, both users will satisfy their desires. The guidelines suggested in this study will help the designer of car navigation take elderly users into consideration.

실험계획법을 이용한 진공유리 Pillar의 배치공정 최적화 (The Arrangement Process Optimization of Vacuum Glazing Pillar using the Design of Experiments)

  • In this study, the optimal process condition was induced about the pillar arrangement process of applying the screen printing method in the manufacture process of vacuum glazing panel. The high precision screen printing is technology which pushes out the paste and spreads it by using the squeegee on the stainless steel plate in which the pattern is formed. The screen printing method is much used in the flat panel display field including the LCD, PDP, FED, organic EL, and etc for forming the high precision micro-pattern. Also a number of studies of screen printing method have been conducted as the method for the cost down through the improvement of productivity. The screen printing method has many parameters. So we used Taguchi method in order to decrease test frequencies and optimize this parameters efficiently. In this study, experiments of pillar arrangement were performed by using Taguchi experimental design. We analyzed experimental results and obtained optimal conditions which are 4 m/s of squeegee speed, $40^{\circ}$ of squeegee angle and distance between metal mask and glass.

실내 차양장치 결합형 창호의 태양열 취득률 평가에 대한 실험적 연구 (A Experiment Study on Performance Evaluation of Solar Heat Gain Coefficient in Glazing with Shading Devices)

  • The determination of the solar and thermal performance of fenestration is required for the evaluation of fenestration energy performance, estimating building load. Presently, there exist several methods for determining the thermal transmission(U-value) and solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of fenestration system. These method are commonly grouped under calculation or experimental methods. While U-value testing and calculation methods have been long established, SHGC has been evaluated only by the method of calculation under the lack of any established testing method. However, it is difficult to assess the exact SHGC for various types of fenestration with sun-shading or other solar control systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of interior venetian blind and roll screen on the SHGC of glazing system. SHGC has been evaluated by the KS L 9107 test method and exiting calculation method for precise comparison of the energy performances of various shading devices. In this research, the test sample consists of three different types of double glazing unit with venetian blind and roll screen. Slat angles of venetian blind were changed to $-45^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$, and$-45^{\circ}$. For the roll screen, measurements were taken with the roll screen in the closed position. In result, the venetian blind reduced SHGC by 21.2~28.4% at $45^{\circ}$, when compared to the double glazing unit. The roll screen reduced SHGC by 34.4~41.7% at closed. The differences between the measured and calculated SHGC were found to range between 0.001(0.2%) and 0.047(11.1%) for all test cases. For the cases of venetian blind $-45^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, the deviation ratio were 3.6~9.8%, 1.1~2.6%, 4.2~11.1%, respectively. For the case of roll screen, the deviation ratio were 4.1~5.7%.

  • 웹 어플리케이션은 프레임워크가 제공하는 라이브러리를 재사용해서 구현하며, 다계층 아키텍처를 갖는다. 또한 사용자 요청을 처리하기 위해, 화면에서 시작하여 해당 웹 어플리케이션 구성 컴포넌트를 실행하고 데이터베이스를 경유하여 다시 화면으로 돌아오는 실행 흐름, 즉 비즈니스 로직을 갖는다. 웹 어플리케이션을 효과적으로 테스트하기 위해서는 이러한 웹 어플리케이션의 특징을 반영하는 테스트 방안이 필요하다. 본 논문은 웹 어플리케이션 테스트를 위해 사용자 화면으로 테스트를 수행하되, 웹 비즈니스 로직 상의 인터페이스 테스트 커버리지로 검증하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 자동화한 테스트 도구인 Testopiacov를 통해 웹 어플리케이션을 테스트하고 그 결과를 통하여 제안하는 웹 어플리케이션 테스트 방법을 분석한다.

구형 스크린을 이용한 준몰입형 VR 시스템 개발 (Development of the arm mounted display VR system using spherical screen)

  • The virtual reality technology has been developed as the computer and computer graphic technology are progressed. However it has still the limits of the use because of it costs a great for system construction. A virtual reality technology is the best application example to reduce time and cost of development in engineering. Actually, VR(Virtual reality) technology has given engineers the ability to design, test and evaluate engineering systems in a virtual environment. The objective of this paper is to construct the arm mounted display VR system by using 3 channel spherical screen and to show its capabilities of an engineering system development. This paper describes the development of arm mounted display VR system with 3 channel spherical screen system and the generation of 3 channel graphic modules. The arm mounted display VR system provides a highly economical efficiency because of it uses a popular computer system as a graphic server.

스크린인쇄조건에 따른 후막인쇄물의 잉크층 두께에 관한 분석 (Analysis of the Effect of Screen Printing Variables on Thick Film Thickness)

  • Four screen mesh counts of 100, 150, 200, and 305 threads per inch are chosen and a designed test figure is exposed on them for printing experiment to measure the ink deposit thickness. Among a number of variables, the ink viscosity, the screen gap and the squeegee pressure and speed are estimated with their effected thickness. These variables affect as much as around 50% compared with the theoretical ink volume listed by the mesh manufacturer and each variable has different influence on the thickness. The data and graphs have been analyzed for the thick film production.

자동차 터치스크린용 실버페이스트 종류에 따른 신뢰성 테스트 특성 연구 (A Studies on the Characteristics of Reliability Test by Automotive Touch Screen Silver Pastes)

  • 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 터치스크린용 실버페이스트를 본딩 방식으로 ITO 필름(ITO : Indium Tin Oxide film)위에 전도성 패턴을 형성하고 5장씩 본딩하여 건조 하였다. 여기서 건조 조건은 ITO 필름( ITO film)이 산화가 발생하지 않는 조건 이다. 신뢰성 테스트는 열 충격테스트와 고온 고습테스트를 진행한다. 각 테스트는 5장씩의 전도성 패턴 본딩상태를 확인한다. 전도성 패턴본딩을 각 240, 480, 615 시간 마다 상태를 확인하였다. 이러한 신뢰성 테스트 통해 서로 다른 실버페이스트의 접착력, 전도성의 변화 등을 알 수 있으므로 품질 저하를 막을 수 있다. 그리고 저온경화 실버페이스트는 표면에 변색이 빨리 올 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
