Importance-Performance Analysis of Multiplex Cinema Attributes (멀티플랙스 영화관 선택속성의 중요도-성취도 분석)

  • This research aims to analyze the importance-performance among multiplex cinema selection attributes. Therefore, we collected data for visitors who visited the multiplex cinema and want to watch movies. Of the various multiplex cinema selection attributes, four factors were deduced that includes: major services, human services, physical environment, auxiliary services using exploratory factor analysis. In the quadrant I, the area of 'Concentrate Here' was 'diversity of screening time', 'diversity of movie genre', 'convenience of mobile app use', 'size and convenience of parking facility'. In the quadrant II, 'Keep up the Good Work' area was 'convenience of website booking', 'discounts through card partnerships', 'employee friendliness', 'accurate employee information delivery', 'comfortable seating', 'screen size', 'cinematic sound quality', and 'convenience of traffic' etc. The quadrant III, 'Low Priority' appeared to be 'membership system', 'tidiness of staff attire', 'resting space for waiting time', 'accessibility to the neighboring area', 'diversity of the snack corner', and 'overall cleanliness' etc. The quadrant IV, 'Possible Overkill' was 'appropriateness of the auditorium temperature' and 'service proficiency'.

Effective Microwell Plate-Based Screening Method for Microbes Producing Cellulase and Xylanase and Its Application

  • Cellulase and xylanase are main hydrolysis enzymes for the degradation of cellulosic and hemicellulosic biomass, respectively. In this study, our aim was to develop and test the efficacy of a rapid, high-throughput method to screen hydrolytic-enzyme-producing microbes. To accomplish this, we modified the 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) method for microwell plate-based screening. Targeted microbial samples were initially cultured on agar plates with both cellulose and xylan as substrates. Then, isolated colonies were subcultured in broth media containing yeast extract and either cellulose or xylan. The supernatants of the culture broth were tested with our modified DNS screening method in a 96-microwell plate, with a $200{\mu}l$ total reaction volume. In addition, the stability and reliability of glucose and xylose standards, which were used to determine the enzymatic activity, were studied at $100^{\circ}C$ for different time intervals in a dry oven. It was concluded that the minimum incubation time required for stable color development of the standard solution is 20 min. With this technique, we successfully screened 21 and 31 cellulase- and xylanase-producing strains, respectively, in a single experimental trial. Among the identified strains, 19 showed both cellulose and xylan hydrolyzing activities. These microbes can be applied to bioethanol production from cellulosic and hemicellulosic biomass.

Designing and Evaluating Websites from both Users' and Designers' Perspectives (웹 디자인의 요소 평가: 이용자 관점과 디자이너 관점의 비교 연구)

  • Diverse disciplines such as information science, computer science, cognitive science, and industrial design, are activity engaged in the website evaluation research efforts. Information scientists emphasize the importance of user-centered and user-friendly website design, which is also easy to use, This idea is based on the understanding that the users and the designers are different set of people. In addition, information scientists consider the practice of maximally incorporating user inputs during the website design to be very important guideline. However, this study is based on a newly emerging population of website users who are also designers. 218 study participants evaluated the websites that they designed in comparison to the websites designed by others. According to the survey data analysis, the study participants considered the content delivery, design simplicity, design consistency, and link access of the websites to be equally important from both users' and designers' perspectives. However, the content organization, rich content, and screen composition were underestimated from the designers' point of view whereas these factors were considered to be important from users' point of view.

A Study on the Relationship among Health Promotion Activity, Value' Placed on Self, and Locus of Control (건강증진행위, 자아가치감 및 통제위와의 관계연구)

  • The purpose of this study were l) to provide information useful in developing an individualized health promotion program, 2) to test the correlations among the level of locus of control, health promotion activities and value placed on self. 3) to assess the factors of health promotion activities and value placed on self. The level of locus of control was measured by Walston/Walston's scales. The levels of health promotion activities and value placed on self were measured by Pender/Pender's scales. The sample consist of 122 female students in a University in Seoul. Their mean ages were 21. The results are summarized as follows; 1. Hypothesis 1 : The higher the score of internal health locus of control, the higher the score of health promotion activities was supported. 2. Hypothesis 2 : The higher the score of value placed on self, the higher the score of health promotion activites was supported. 3. Hypothesis 3 : The higher the score of value placed on self, the higher the score of internal health locus of control was supported. 4. The highest score of the factors of health promotion activities is nutritional practice$(14.976\pm.907)$ and the lowest score is self care$(1l.930\pm1.169).$ In conclusion, several implications for nursing emerge from the theory and research behind the locus of control concept. First, scales to measure locus of control may be useful in evaluating health education programs. Second, it may be adventageous to screen individuals using a health locus of control scale before placement into a treatment program that matches their needs. Third, health professionals may want to train individuals to become more internals appear more likely to engage in positive health behaviors.

Effect of Stabilizers on Performance of Electroluminescence Display Device (안정화제가 무기 전계발광 디스플레이 소자 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • The stability of paste solutions for electroluminescence display(ELD) device was found to be greatly affected by kind and dosage of a stabilizer used. The stabilizer Disperbyk-180 showed the best stability performance against phosphor paste solutions among the stabilizers used during this study. The phosphor paste solutions remained stable over 90 days with a wide range of added amounts of Disperbyk-180. Based on the above results, screen printing test was performed. The addition of Disperbyk-180 into phosphor and dielectric paste solutions produced improved qualities such as no phase separation, no bubble generation and no significant viscosity change during printing process. Especially for the phosphor paste solution, both uniformity and brightness were significantly improved and the excellent adhesion onto the ITO film was found. The ELD device fabricated using the above same paste solutions showed brightness of $57.6cd/m^2$ at 100V and 400 Hz. The half lifetime of ELD device was measured as 1,250 hours and almost the same value observed with imported commercial paste solutions.

Sampling Efficiency of Organic Vapor Passive Samplers by Diffusive Length (확산길이에 따른 수동식 유기용제 시료채취기의 시료채취성능에 관한 연구)

  • Passive samplers have been used for many years for the sampling of organic vapors in work environment atmospheres. Currently, all passive samplers used in domestic occupational monitoring are foreign products. This study was performed to evaluate variable parameters for the development of passive organic samplers, which include the geometry of the device and diffusive length for the sampler design. Four prototype diffusive lengths; A-1(4.5 mm), A-2(7.0 mm), A-3(9.5 mm), A-4(12.0 mm) were tested for adsorption performances to a chemical mixture (benzene, toluene, trichloroethylene, and n-hexane) according to the US-OSHA's evaluation protocol. A dynamic vapor exposure chamber developed and verified by related research was used for this study. The results of study are as follows. The results in terms of sampling rate and recommended sampling time test indicate that the most suitable model was A-3 (9.5 mm diffusive lengths on both sides) for passive sampler design in time weighted average (TWA) assessment. Sampling rates of this A-3 model were 45.8, 41.5, 41.4, and 40.3 ml/min for benzene, toluene, trichloroethylene, and n-hexane, respectively. The A-3 models were tested on reverse diffusion and conditions of low humidity air (35% RH) and low concentrations (0.2 times of TLV). These conditions had no affect on the diffusion capacity of samplers. In conclusion, the most suitable design parameters of passive sampler are: 1) Geometry and structure - 25 mm diameter and 490 $mm^2$ cross sectional area of diffusion face with cylindrical form of two-sided opposite diffusion direction; 2) Diffusive length - 9.5 mm in both faces; 3) Amount of adsorbent - 300 mg of coconut shell charcoal; 4) Wind screen - using nylon net filters (11 ${\mu}m$ pore size).

The Standardization of the Korean Version of Brief Edinburgh Depression Scale as a Screening Tool for Depression in Cancer Patients (암 환자에서 우울증의 선별도구로서 단축형 에딘버러 우울증 척도의 한국 표준화)

  • Objectives : Depression is a common psychiatric disorder in cancer patients. The Brief Edinburgh Depression Scale(BEDS), which is an abbreviated version of the Edinburgh Depression Scale, may serve as a useful tool in screening for the depression in patients with the medical illnesses. This report investigated the reliability and validity of the Korean Version of the BEDS(K-BEDS) for the depression in cancer patients. Methods : One-hundred cancer patients were enrolled in this study. All subjects completed the K-BEDS, the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale(HADS), and the Karnofsky Performance Status Scale(KPSS). Reliability, validity and Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC) curve analysis measures were assessed. Results : The K-BEDS showed good internal consistency(Cronbach ${\alpha}$=0.77) and test-retest reliability(0.94, p<0.001). All item-total correlations were above 0.3. Also, it revealed moderate correlation with the depression subscale of the HADS(r=0.617), but no correlation with the KPSS. Exploratory factor analysis produced only one factor, accounting for 47.1% of the total variance. The most valid cutoff value to screen for depression was a total score of 5 on the K-BEDS, which showed sensitivity of 62.5% and specificity of 86.4% with a positive predictive value of 4.60 and a negative predictive value of 0.43.

Radiography with Low Energy Protons Generated from Ultraintense Laser-plasma Interactions

  • In order to obtain high quality images of thin objects, we performed an experiment of proton radiography by using low energy protons generated from the interaction of an ultrashort ultraintense laser with solid targets. The protons were produced from a thin polyimide target irradiated by the laser pulse, and their maximum energy was estimated at up to 1.8 MeV. A CR-39 nuclear track detector was used as a proton radiography screen. The proton images were obtained by using an optical microscope and the spatial resolution was evaluated by a Modulation Transfer Function (MTF). We have achieved about $10\;{\mu}m$ spatial resolution of images. The obtained spatial resolution shows about $4{\sim}5$ times better value than the conventional X-ray radiography for inspection or non-destructive test (NDT) purpose.

Validation of Adult Fall Assessment Scale Korean Version for Adult Patients in General Hospitals in Korea (한국형 낙상 위험 사정도구의 타당성 평가연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the predictive validity of the Fall Assessment Scale-Korean version (FAS-K) and to find the most appropriate cutoff score to screen high-risk fall groups in adult patients in general hospitals in Korea. Methods: We performed a prospective evaluation study in medical and surgical ward patients at two major general hospitals in Seoul. Data were collected from Nov. 1, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2019, nurses performed 651 observation series. The researcher measured the fall risk assessment score by applying FAS-K, MFS (Morse Fall Scale), and JHFRAT (Johns Hopkins Hospital Fall Risk Assessment tool) to the patients twice a week between 10 am and 12 noon. Data were analyzed using Pearson's corelation coefficients, and the sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and the area under the curve (AUC) of the three tools. Results: The FAS-K was positively correlated with the MFS (r=.70, p<.001) and the JHFRAT (r=.82, p<.001). According to the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve analysis of the FAS-K, sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative prediction values were 85.3%, 49.4%, 8.5%, and 98.4%, respectively, when the FAS-K score was 4. Therefore, the cut-off score of the FAS-K to identify groups with high fall risk was 4. Conclusion: The FAS-K is a valid tool for measuring fall risk in adult inpatients. In addition, the FAS-K score, 4, can be used to identify high-risk fall groups and know specific points in time to provide active interventions to prevent falls.

A Study on User Experience of OTT Service -Focused on Netflix, Watcha and Wavve- (국내외 OTT서비스의 사용자 경험 연구 -넷플릭스와 왓챠, 웨이브를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure the user experience of Netflix which is a representative global OTT service, Watcha and Wavve which is a representative service of Korea. Using mobile applications, qualitative research and quantitative research on user experience of OTT service were conducted with task test, in-depth interviews and surveys. As a result of the study, The usefulness and accessible of the OTT service has not shown much difference between OTT services. Rather, contents based on personal preferences has a significant impact on OTT service selection. The study found that Netflix needs to secure contents, Watcha needs to improve interface and recast categories, Wavve needs to present contents that are focused on and improve interface of main screen. The study expects to help a build a differentiate user experience in the face of growing OTT platform competition.
