  • The goal of enterprises is to make a profit. They should change and evolve themselves according to various customers' demand and developing information technology. The construction industry has not been used to such a change of business environment, although it has a long history. So it needs a new management system that accepts the various demands of construction participants and keeps pace with the evolving environment where is replaced by high-valued one. In this point, this research's objective is to apply SCM which shows visible outcome in the manufacturing industry, to the construction industry. This study regards the concept of SCM not as a simple management method, but as a comprehensive one. In other words, SCM is composed of three viewpoints; control, organization and information technology. SCM is to improve process by new management method, to benefit each other by strategical cooperation among participants, and to make information delivery and saving system for maintaining the relationship.

  • Recently, the market of fiber and apparel industry is rapidly changing from producer to consumer oriented. This trend emphasizes the necessity of SCM systems being able to do flexible correspondences to the market changing through synthetically reflecting consumers' various needs and a variety of patterns. However, because traditional SCMs manage their supply chains being based on bar code systems from the production to the distribution, they are suffering from the needs of real time information sharing and have their essential restrictions in the response to the environmental changes of the market and consumers' needs. This paper suggests a new RFID based u-SCM system optimized into the fiber and apparel industry. The proposed system has the benefits that through basing on RPID can collect information of the production and the distribution real time and make better use of it and connect to the legacy systems organically via Web services and rapidly respond to the market changing and consumers' needs. Through implementation, it is demonstrated that the proposed system can effectively facilitate them.

  • Industrial society has changed to information society in these day. Even through the core issue of information society is the creation of competency and profit of corporations, the implementation of SCM packages is not popular. The reason why companies hesitate to introduce SCM packages is that the performance enhancement by the implementation of SCM is not clear. This paper addresses the effect of financial performance according to IT the implementation of SCM packages. Eight financial performance measures were selected based on the literature review. Financial data on the fifteen companies that implemented SCM packages before December, 2003 were collected considering the differences on performance measures between before and after the SCM implementation.

  • The emergence of ubiquitous autonomic computing and network environment will change the service architecture information system which will be a new application area in SCM/logistics systems. In this study we surveyed the technical trend map of ubiquitous and its application in SCM/logistics support system design. We described the evolutional model of ubiquitous computing community for SCM/logistics system. It is consisted of three view points; self-growing, autonomic, and context-aware, which will allow the decision makers to be benefited from web and mobile technology and are useful for proactive SCM/logistics support system. Finally, we suggested a cooperative research planning for the development ubiquitous system between the government research center, university, and industry research activities.

  • 1. Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze for the patent application tendency in SCM(Sasang Constitutional Medicine). Recently, in SCM, many researches are made public through papers. However, in the patent area, the research results are less than the papers. 2. Methods : We collected patents about SCM using wintelips program. We analyzed patents according to the year, author, topic, and etc. 3. Results : We collected 151 patents using search system with wintelips program. After detailed analysis on SCM patent, we got to know that SCM was a growing field. In the collected patents, the patents on diagnosis technology were the majority and system of providing information were the second largest. 4. Conclusions : We think that the SCM field is growing at a fast pace with high activity, and this research should be updated annually.

  • Supply chain management is defined as "an integrative philosophy to manage the total flow of a distribution channel from the supplier to the ultimate user". There are many differences between traditional systems and supply chain management systems, There are so many advantages applying SCM concept in inventory management field from the viewpoint of information sharing. While each firm try to optimize the inventory individually in traditional systems, SCM focus on optimizing the channel-wide-inventory making effort to reduce the inventory interrelatedly, The more complex your network of suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors, the more you are likely to gain operational efficiencies by attending on inventory management. The inventory stockpiles at the various sites, including both incoming materials and finished products, have complex interrelationships. Efficient and effective management of inventory throughout the supply chain significantly improves the ultimate service provided to the customer. The purpose of this thesis is to develop the integrated inventory management system for the control of channel-wide inventory on the intranet by applying SCM concept.

  • The construction project can be defined as a network combined between elements which are engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, and has a plenty of subjects and partners. For the successful project management in construction industry, it is necessary to adopt various management methods, such as lean production, information network system, SCM(Supply Chain Management), which can increase the efficiency of project management. During recent years, even though various management techniques have been applied, the SCM system has not formulated in construction industry. Especially, the Nuclear Power Plant Construction which requires high regulations of the safety and security has not applied SCM. Therefore, this study aimed to propose technology area of SCM in Korean Nuclear Power Plant Construction.

  • Through SCM modeling, we found that the depletion layer in silicon was of a form of a spherical capacitor with the SCM tip biased. Two-dimensional (2D) finite differential method code with a successive over relaxation (SOR) solver has been developed to model the measurements by SCM of a semiconductor wafer that contains an ion-implanted impurity region. Then, we theoretically analyzed the spherical capacitor and determined the total depleted-volume charge Q, capacitance C, and the rate of capacitance change with bias dC/dV. It is very important to observe the depleted carriers' movement in the silicon layer by applying the bias to the tip. So, we calculated the depleted-volume charge, considering different factors such as tip size, oxide thickness, and applied bias (dc+ac), which have an influence on potential and depletion charges.

  • This paper is mainly about the development of u-warehouse management system by using RFID in SCM environment. We developed a web-based real-time u-warehouse management system centering to manufacture enterprises by analyzing the process before and after the adopting of RFID technologies in warehouse management, deducing the standard application process which adopts RFID technologies in SCM environment.

  • Most of companies related to the area of B2B electronic commerce are making their efforts to innovate their existing business process into new designed supply chain process. eSCM system using XML/EDI has potential to impact on reshaping the relationship between traditional trading partners. This study intends to suggest a prototype of eSCM system using XML/EDI. To implement eSCM system, we analyze and design the supply chain process by using Unified Modeling Language, with a firm, which is a first vendor to produce LAMP, engaged in Korean automobile industry.
