Empirical Research on Performance of SCM Adoption - Structural Equation Modeling Approach - (SCM 시스템 도입성과에 관한 실증적 연구 - 구조방정식모형 접근 -)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine qualitative and quantitative performance on SCM. To validate our research model, five hundred survey questionnaires were distributed to the companies that have implemented SCM systems for at least one year. A total of 153 valid responses were obtained. In this research, we were to derive influencing factors of SCM performance, modelize the mutual influential relationship between them, and look into the influential relationship influencing the SCM performance. Moreover, we tried to analyze difference of financial ratios after adopting SCM. The results of the research can be summarized as follows. Change management had a significant impact on information system quality and SCM performance, and, information system quality had a significant impact on SCM performance. And, the difference of financial ratio was existed after the adopting SCM. Moreover, inventory turnover rates, ROI, ROA were increased, and labor costs to sales was decreased.

  • This study constructs a causal relationship model of balance scorecard(BSC) performance in supply chain management(SCM). According to the results, the sample companies show the causal relationship of learning and growth performance, internal process performance, customer performance, and financial Performance indices in SCM. And this study implies that BSC performance indices gives, through direct causal relations among them, impact on the ultimate financial performance of firms.

  • eBusiness 환경속에서 기업들의 주요한 관심사는 eSCM 통합을 통한 경쟁력 획득에 있다. 파트너쉽에 기반한 성공적인 eSCM 통합을 이루고, 궁극적으로는 고객 만족을 달성하기 위해서는 eSCM에 대한 참여 기업 간 공동 성과 측정 시스템을 만들고, 이를 통해 공급사슬 통합에 관련된 비용/효과에 대해 명확하게 이해하도록 하는 것이 핵심이다. 이러한 참여 기업들 사이의 공동의 성과 측정시스템을 활용하기 위해서는 재무적 그리고 비재무적 성과 사이의 균형을 성취하기 위한 강력한 도구인 Balanced Scorecard와 eSCM의 연계에 기반한 드릴다운(drill-down) 방식의 성과 측정을 통해 공급사슬의 다른 수준에 대한 성과 측정이 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 BSC와 eSCM의 연계를 위해 BSC를 eSCM관점에서 재정립하고, 드릴다운(drill-down)방식에 기반한 eSCM 성과 측정 시스템 활용을 위한 기본 틀을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Organizational citizenship behaviors(OCB) are discretionary behaviors of employees, which go beyond that which is required, and are known to be contributing factors of organizational performance. When a supply chain management(SCM) system is implemented, organizational knowledge concerning the global standards, process innovation and key performance indicators(KPI) is also spread out across different, disconnected silos, thus increasing the absorptive and innovative capacity of employees. Therefore, OCB may be an important antecedent to successful operation of supply chain. This paper examines the causal relationships among absorptive capacity of employees, organizational citizenship, SCM performance and intention to innovate in global manufacturing corporations in Korea. Empirical results from 122 survey responses indicate that the organizational citizenship affects the level of SCM performance and absorptive capacity, which, in turn, influences SCM performance. As expected, SCM performance has been found to affect intention to innovate, but absorptive capacity has no impact on intention to innovate. As a conclusion, the academic and practical implications of these findings are discussed.

  • Today, SCM is used as a important tool of management innovation for enterprise's survival and development. BSC forces managers to focus on balanced measures of business performance that are most critical. The purpose of this study is to find out the determinants of SCM adoption through the analysis which examine the relationship among the key success factors, and business performance using the BSC perspective. This study also gives the suggestion for the effective SCM implementation in the korean companies. This study has been conducted using the data collected from 107 companies implementing SCM. By analyses of the questionnaires, empirical results shows that the implementation of SCM has positive effect on organizational performance with 4 perspectives of BSC. The contribution of this study is that it provides a conceptual framework and empirical evidence of the causal relationship between key success factors, and business performance with 4 perspectives of BSC concept. This study showed that more consideration are essential to obtain balanced business performance for companies with SCM adoption plan.

  • This paper is a case study on determinants of e-SCM performances. It suggested effective factors related with e-SCM performances for common feature, and point of difference between case firms. So the paper investigated former literature. Then it derived determinants on e-SCM performances. The authors found that establishment of e-SCM project team, mind change of top management, sharing of information, establishment of exact demand and supply plan, the best use of information technology, scale of organization, and collaboration of between firms are key success factors of e-SCM. Case company were three companies. The paper chose SONY, and Samsung Electronics among electronic companies, and HAITAI among confectionary companies. It analyze three companies about common feature, and point of difference, regarding seven effective factors as mentioned above.

  • This study explores how bargaining power and partnership effect on the SCM main results namely flexibility, agility, and control of uncertainty. To test the suggested model, this study used a data set generated from online and offline survey. The 140 sets of data collected, which companies use SCM, were tested against the model using SPSS 23 and smartPLS 3.2.3. The results of this study are as follows. First, Bargaining power had an effect on partnership. Second, partnership had an effect on the SCM agility, flexibility, control of uncertainty.

  • This study analyzed the impact of supply chain management (SCM) and e-SCM on change acceptance capability, information sharing capability, partnership management capability, and business performance. This study and analysis were conducted targeting the employees of companies that introduced SCM and e-SCM in the metropolitan area and provinces. Change Acceptance Capability, Information Sharing Capability, Partnership Management Capability and Business Performance and the degree of relationship, between outcome variables, which are characteristic factors of SCM, were analyzed through a research model. Based on the survey results, nine research hypotheses were postulated, and the reliability, validity, and importance were examined. The research results supported by the research hypothesis can be summarized in two ways as follows. First, the company's capabilities were analyzed as major variables such as Acceptance Capability, Information Sharing Capability, Partnership Management Capability, and Business Performance. Second, the degree of relationship was analyzed in detail by classifying the necessary competencies in SCM into 4 categories, not the competencies of a specific company. This study is expected to provide appropriate information to SCM-related companies.

  • 본 연구는 많은 기업들이 SCM의 중요성을 인식하고 도입하여 활용을 하고 있는 정보시스템의 발전 단계에서 공급사슬에 참여하고 있는 기업이 어떻게 SCM을 활용하고 있는지에 초점을 둔 연구라 할 수 있다. 기존 연구에서 도출한 SCM 활용 목적에 대한 설문 항목을 중심으로 기업이 활용하고 있는 SCM 활용 패턴을 도출하였다. 군집 분석 방법을 활용하여 집단에 특성을 배정하여 동일 집단에 속한 대상의 유사성을 갖게 함으로써 집단 간의 차이를 명확하게 하였다. 군집 분석 결과 효율성을 추구 형, 군집, Business process 정확성 추구형 집단과 환경 변화 대응 추구형 군집으로 패턴을 나눌 수 있었다. 응답 기업을 Miles와 Snow의 전략유형으로 분류하여 응답 기업의 전략 유형을 판별한 결과 분석자형 40.6%, 방어자형 15.1%, 공격자형 37.2%, 반응자형 6.9%로 조사되었다. 위에서 유형화한 SCM의 활용 패턴과 전략유형을 Matrix화하여 가설인 SCM 활용 패턴과 전략유형의 적합도와 SCM 성과 만족도와의 관계를 검증하였다. 연구를 수행한 결과 기업이 SCM을 활용할 때, SCM 활용 패턴 및 전략 유형에 따라 SCM 성과 만족도가 다르게 나타난다는 것을 알 수 가 있다.

  • 최근 대기업을 중심으로 하여 SCM에 관한 관심이 고조되면서, 이와 관련한 연구는 매우 고무적이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 국내의 대다수 중소기업들은 SCM에 대한 인식자체가 매우 부족할 뿐 아니라 정작으로 중소기업과 관련한 SCM에 대한 국내의 연구도 매우 미미한 상황이다. SCM을 중소기업에 도입시 찬반 논란이 외국의 사례에서는 볼 수 있지만 국내의 경우 이에 대한 논의가 잘 되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 국내중소기업들이 SCM의 성공요인과 이의 성과지표에 관하여 얼마나 중요하게 인식하고 있는지를 살펴보고 이것이 도입유무와 상관없이 기업이 현실적으로 고려하고 있는 SCM 성과지표에 영향을 미치는지를 살펴본다. 특히 중소기업의 공급망사슬의 위치와 파트너들간의 관계 그리고 IT서비스의 인식정도와 활용정도에 따라서 SCM 인식정도와 성과지표에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 살펴본다. 본 연구를 통해 국내의 중소기업들이 SCM도입에 관한 실질적인 도입 필요성의 정도를 살펴볼 수 있고, 국내 중소기업들이 SCM을 도입시 고려해야하는 문제점을 파악하여 향후 정부의 중소기업 정보화지원정책에 관한 시사점을 도출한다.
