Enzymatic pulping properties of mixed office waste paper in standard disintegrator were investigated for successful enzymatic deinking of mixed office waste paper. Enzymatic pulping need more revolution in standard disintegrator than alkaline pulping and Cellusoft need more revolution than Denimax. The freeness of disintegrated pulp with enzyme was higher than those of disintegrated pulps with alkaline and heat killed enzyme. The freeness of disintegrated pulp with Denimax was higher than that of disintegrated pulp with Cellusoft. The freeness of disintegrated pulps were increased with a dosage of enzymes. The mechanical properties of disintegrated pulp were improved with enzyme addition comparing with heat killed enzyme. The tensile and burst index of hand sheet of disintegrated pulps with acidic Cellusoft were higher than that of others.

This paper describes design and implementation of home network control protocol for networked home appliances. The proposed network protocol has four-layered protocol structure and device-modem interface structure for the flexibility of modems based on power line communication. The standard message set is specified to guarantee the interoperability between various home appliances The proposed protocol can be easily implemented because it has minimum network overhead.

This paper introduces the partial melting process for solder application and characterization of its feasibility using Sn-Ag, and Sn-Cu solder alloys. ill order to show that the liquid phase in the semi-liquid state maintains the similar wettability as single-phase liquid, the wetting balance tests are conducted with varying temperatures and compositions. Also, as a new soldering technology, the microstructural and mechanical test were investigated. The results from this research indicate that the partial melting can yield satisfactory sider joints as long as the liquid phase acquires sufficient chemical activity. At a condition where the partial melting is effective, a direct correlation between the wettability and the surface tension is found to exist.

On the Internet we are confronted with a huge amount of information in daily lives. However, we do not have system support for storing and managing Internet search results useful for us. To solve this problem, this paper presents a data management system in which search results obtained from wikipedia and a web search engine are organized in a structured way, enabling an easy access to them later.

Research on shooting conditions of 3D program production for natural 3D images has been continued. In the study, it has been shown that orthostereoscopic conditions bring about no inconsistency between depth information from perspective of the lenses and that from binocular parallax. A newly developed 3D camera is based on orthostereoscopic conditions, which result in compactness of the camera (weight 8). At the same time, the new camera has a zooming function and is valuable in many ways, especially sport broadcasting. In this paper, we give an outline of the newly developed 3D HDTV camera and the results of subjective evaluation tests on psychological effects of the images shot by the camera. These tests show that the images shot by this camera are more powerful and comfortable to view than those shot by existing 3D cameras.

This paper collected 132 schools reconstruction projects in central Taiwan, which received the most serious damage from the Chi-Chi Earthquake. Regression analysis was implemented to build the prediction model of the cost and the duration for the collected projects. It is found that the cubic regression models are capable for predicting the cost and the duration of the projects contracted by the central agency of which the contracting awarding approach was based on the most advantageous tendering (MAT) approach. On the other hand, power regression models are capable for predicting the cost and the duration of the projects contracted through the low bid tendering (LBT) approach. It is also found that the performance of the regression prediction model differs in accordance with organizations that contracted the reconstruction projects.

본 논문에서는 한국어로 쓰여진 과학기술 논문에 대한 기계독해 과제(일명 KorSciQA)를 제안하고자 하며, 그와 수반하는 데이터 구축 및 평가를 보고한다. 다양한 제약조건이 부가된 크라우드소싱 디자인을 통하여, 498개의 논문 초록에 대해 일관성 있는 품질의 2,490개의 질의응답으로 구성된 기계독해 데이터셋을 구축하였다. 이 데이터셋은 어느 논문에서나 나타나는 논박 요소들인 논의하는 문제, 푸는 방법, 관련 데이터, 모델 등과 밀접한 질문으로 구성되고, 각 논박 요소의 의미, 목적, 이유 파악 및 다양한 추론을 하여 답을 할 수 있는 것이다. 구축된 KorSciQA 데이터셋은 실험을 통하여 기존의 기계독해 모델의 독해력으로는 풀기 어려운 도전과제로 평가되었다.

Cellulosic materials were dissolved by NMMO(N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide) and CED (Cupriethylene diamine), respectively, to measure their DPs (degrees of polymerization) by using viscometer. We changed cellulose DPs by applying various amounts of low intensity electron-beam radiation to the cellulosic materials. NMMO is environmental-friendly, non-toxic, and biodegradable organic cellulose solvent and used industrially because of its high cellulose dissolving power and high solvent recovery ratio. The cellulose DP measurement results using these two different chemicals were correlated highly ($R^2$ >0.95). It was also found that cellulose with high DP was dissolved more easily in NMMO than CED. In addition, NMMO method gave more higher resolution in the measurement.
