양이 동시 인공와우 사용자의 조기 언어발달 (Early Linguistic Developments of Simultaneous Bilateral Cochlear Implantees)

  • Background and Objectives The present study aimed to compare receptive and expressive language development in children who have undergone simultaneous bilateral cochlear implantation (SCI) and those who have undergone bimodal stimulation (unilateral CI+ hearing aid). Subjects and Method In a retrospective analysis of clinical data, 15 pediatric patients who have received SCI and nine patients who have received bimodal stimulation (BM group) were enrolled. CI was performed for all patients at 24 months of age. Category of Auditory Performance (CAP) scores, Infant-Toddler Meaningful Auditory Integration Scale (IT-MAIS) scores, and developmental quotients (DQ) for expressive and receptive language were compared between the groups at 12 month of follow-up. The Percentage of Consonants Correct (PCC) of children evaluated at 4 years old was also compared. Results At 12 months of follow-up, significantly greater improvements in CAP scores (${\Delta}4.25{\pm}0.5$) were noted in the SCI group compared to the BM group (${\Delta}3.56{\pm}0.88$, p=0.041). Significantly greater improvements in IT-MAIS scores were also noted in the SCI group (${\Delta}36.17{\pm}4.09$) than in the BM group (${\Delta}30.17{\pm}2.91$, p=0.004). The DQ of receptive language was higher in the SCI group than in the BM group ($87.6{\pm}15.4%$ vs. $75.5{\pm}12.0%$, p=0.023) at 12 months of follow-up. Moreover, early SCI was associated with better receptive language skills. PCC index of children at 4 years old was higher in the SCI group than in the BM group ($88.5{\pm}13.2%$ vs. $62{\pm}15.8%$, p=0.014). Earlier SCI was associated with even greater improvements. Conclusion Bilateral SCI is associated with significant improvements in language development when compared with bimodal stimulation. Earlier SCI was associated with better outcomes.

한국의 방사선종양학과의 SCI 및 SCIE 논문 발표 현황 - 1990년부터 2006년까지 (Current Status of SCI & SCIE Publications in the Field of Radiation Oncology in Korea)

  • 목 적: 우리나라의 방사선종양학과에서 발표된 SCI (Science Citation Index) 및 SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) 논문의 현황을 조사하고 발전 방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 1990년부터 2006년까지 발표된 SCI 및 SCIE 논문 중 저자의 소속이 한국의 방사선종양학과 또는 치료방사선과인 경우의 논문을 검색하여 발표 논문의 종류, 인용지수 등을 조사하였고 저자의 소속 기관별 분류를 하였으며 각 논문별 인용지수도 조사하여 비교하였다. 결 과: 이 기간 동안 모두 146편의 SCI 논문과 32편의 SCIE 논문이 발표되었다. 2001년부터 2006년까지 최근 5년간 연 평균 23편의 논문이 발표되었다. 발표된 저널은 International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics가 56편으로 가장 많았다. 30회 이상 인용된 논문은 5편에 불과하며 10회 이상 인용된 논문은 모두 26편이 있었다. 1편 이상의 논문을 발표한 기관은 19개 기관이다. 소속 기관별 분포는 Yonsei University가 57편을 발표하여 가장 많았고 제1저자로 5편 이상의 논문을 발표한 연구자는 모두 9명이며 Seong, J. (Yonsei University)가 19편으로 가장 많은 논문을 발표하였다. 결 론: 방사선종양학과의 SCI 및 SCIE 논문 발표 수가 극히 저조하다. SCI 및 SCIE 논문의 발표를 활성화시키기 위한 대책 마련이 시급하다.

A Proposal of an Effective Compensation Method for IR Lamp Deterioration in NDIR Type Capnograph Systems

  • This paper proposes the effective compensation method fur the IR lamp deterioration in NDIR capnograph system. The newly designed optical chamber with two IR lamps and an electronic hardware for controlling lamp intensity have been implemented. After applying the proposed optical chamber and reference lamp control circuit to the NDIR type capnograph system, it is identified that the proposed method can compensate the lamp deterioration effectively.

  • In this study, EO glass films were deposited by R.F. magnetron sputtering using EO glass target. The glass formation of the EO film was greatly dependent on the substrate temperature and the crystallization started at approximately 28$0^{\circ}C$. As the temperature of the substrate or the oxygen content in the sputtering gas increased, UV/VIS/NIR absorption edge moved toward longer wavelength. A wave guiding phenomenon was observed from the prism-coupler experiment and a fluorescence of 1.06${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ originated from 4Fe3/2longrightarrow4I11/2 transition of Nd3+ was detected from the film containing Nd3+ ions.

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of the B-Link bus interface logic for a directory controller and a remote access cash controller in the SCI-based CC-NUMA multimedia server developed by ETRI . The CC-NUMA multimedia server is composed of a number of Pentium III SHV nodes and a SCI interconnection network. To communicate with remote nodes, each node has a CC-Agent which consists of a processor bus interface(PIF). a directory controller(DC), a remote access cash controller(RC), and two SCI 1ink controllers(LCs). The B-Link bus interface logic is developed for a directory controller and a remote access cash controller in order to communicate with a SCI link controller on a B-Link bus. It consists of a sending master controller a receiving slave controller, and asynchronous data buffers. And It performs a self-arbitration, a data packet transmission, a queue allocation, an early terminal ion. and a cut-through data path.

  • A novel ceramic synthesis technique, combustion synthesis, is explored to produce an orange-emitting $SnO_2:Eu^{3+}$ phosphors. This technique involves a reaction of metal salts with a citric acid as an organic fuel. The variation of the ratio of citric acid to metal introduces change in reaction temperature and atmosphere of the combustion reaction, which in turn influences crystallinity and luminescence properties of the final products significantly. And the heat treatment of the as-synthesized product improved the CL intensity of the products. Especially, the sample treated at above 1100 $^{\circ}C$ shows an orange-emission, which is attributed to the formation of single phase and well-crystallized $SnO_2$:Eu in rutile structure.
