  • 현재 데이터의 양은 인터넷 관련 비즈니스/전자상거래 등 인터넷 프로토콜(IP) 네트워크를 이용한 저장 장치의 데이터 증가를 가져오게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 펜티엄 프로세서, 고속 이더넷 IDE RAID 시스템 (IDE RAID Controller와 IDE 디스크로 구성)과 iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface) 프로토콜을 이용하여 저렴한 비용으로 비교적 우수한 성능의 리눅스 기반의 저장장치 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 또한 저장장치 시스템의 벤치마크 프로그램인 ioZone을 사용하여 SCSI RAID 시스템으로 구성된 저장 장치 시스템과의 성능을 비교 분석하여 가격대비 성능이 비교적 우수함을 보여준다. 끝으로. 향후 SATA(Serial ATA)를 이용한 저장장치 시스템의 전망을 가늠해본다.

  • Dopamine (DA) is an important neurotransmitter molecule of catecholamines. Its deficiency could lead to brain disorder such as Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a suitable analytical technique with sensitivity and simplicity. A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for DA has been optimized and characterized. Assay sensitivity is controlled by two factors in competitive immunoassay. One is a nature and concentration of competitor, and the other is those of binder, antibody. Thus, optimization was performed: BSA-DA conjugate and antibody-avidin conjugate were prepared by dual heterobifunctional coupling method using SATA and SMCC. Assay condition was optimized with $6.66\;{\mu}gmL^{-1}$ of BSA-DA and $4.17{\times}10^{-10}\;M$ of antibody-avidin conjugate. A dose-response curve was constructed, and a limit of detection and a dynamic range for DA were accomplished to $2.3{\times}10^{-2}\;{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ and four orders of magnitude ($1.0{\times}10^{-7}\;M$ to $1.0{\times}10^{-3}\;M$), respectively. Calibration curve was constructed on dynamic range and least-squares regression of this data gave the following relationship: absorbance = -0.1098 log[DA]+0.0353 ($R^2$ = 0.9956).

Properties of pervious concrete containing high-calcium fly ash

  • This paper presents the properties of pervious concrete containing high-calcium fly ash. The water to binder ratios of 0.19, 0.22, and 0.25, designed void ratios of 15, 20, and 25%, and fly ash replacements of 10, 20, and 30% were used. The results showed that the use of fly ash as partial replacement of Portland cement enhanced the mixing of paste resulting in a uniform mix and reduced amount of superplasticizer used in the mixture. The compressive strength and flexural strength of pervious concrete were slightly reduced with an increase in fly ash replacement level, while the abrasion resistance increased due mainly to the pozzolanic and filler effects. The compressive strength and flexural strengths at 28 days were still higher than 85% of the control concrete. The aggregate size also had a significant effect on the strength of pervious concrete. The compressive strength and flexural strength of pervious concrete with large aggregate were higher than that with small aggregate.

Screening for Korean Vegetables with Anticarcinogenic Enzyme Inducing Activity Using Cell Culture System

  • There is extensive evidence suggesting the protective role of fruits and vegetables against chemically induced carcinogenesis. We have tested the ability of a representative range of Korean vegetables to act as blocking agents against neoplastic initiation by determining the induction level of quinone reductase , an anticarcinogenci marker enzyme, in hepalclc 7 cells exposed to vegetable extracts. Among thirty vegetables tested, Arcitum lappa(Burdock), Brassica juncea (Mustard leaf), Pteridium aguilinum (Bracken) and Chrysanthemum cornoratium(Crown daisy) caused a significant induction of quinone teductase activity with a limited increase in arylhdrocarbon hydroxylase activity. Combination of crown daisy with burdock had synergistic effect on quinone reductase induction. Quinone reductase-inducing activity was found mostly in hesane and ehtylactate fractions of MeOH extract of crown daisy while it ws not quinone reductase activity in liver, kideny, lung, and small intestine, confirming the presence of potent QR inducer (s) in crown daisy. These sata suggest that some vegetables including crown daisy induced QR merits further investigation as a potential cancer preventive agent in human.

Efficiency factor of high calcium Class F fly ash in concrete

  • This paper studied the cement efficiency factor (k factor) of high calcium Class F fly ash. This k factor represents a unit of fly ash with efficiency equivalent to k unit of cement. The high calcium Class F fly ash was used to replace cement in concrete. The modified Bolomey's law with linear relationship was used for the analysis of the result of compressive strength, cement to water ratio (c/w) and fly ash to water ratio (f/w) by using the multi-linear regression to determine the k factor and other constants in the equations. The results of analysis were compared with the results from other researcher and showed that the k factor of high calcium Class F fly ash depends on the fineness of fly ash, replacement level and curing age. While the amount of CaO content in Class F fly ash not evident. Furthermore, necessary criteria and variables for the determination of the k factor including the use of the k factor in concrete mix design containing fly ash were proposed.

  • In recent years, non-volatile memory express (NVMe), a new host controller interface standard, has been adapted to overcome performance bottlenecks caused by the acceleration of solid state drives (SSD). Recently, performance breakthrough cases over AHCI based SATA SSDs by adapting NVMe based PCI Express (PCIe) SSD to servers and PCs have been reported. Furthermore, replacing legacy eMMC-flash storage with NVMe based storage is also considered for next generation of mobile devices such as smartphones. The Linux kernel includes drivers for NVMe support, and as the kernel version increases, the implementation of the NVMe driver code has changed. However, mobile devices are often equipped with older versions of Android operating systems (OSes), where the newest features of NVMe drivers are not available. Therefore, different features of different NVMe driver implementations are not well evaluated on Android OSes. In this paper, we analyze the response time of the NVMe driver for various Linux kernel version.

Analyzing the Impact of Supply Noise on Jitter in GBPS Serial Links on a Merged I/O-Core Power Delivery Network

  • In this paper, the impact of integrating large number of I/O (Input-Output) and Core power Delivery Network (PDN) on a 6 layers Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (FCBGA) package is investigated. The impact of core induced supply noise on high-speed I/O interfaces, and high-speed I/O interface's supply noise coupling to adjacent high-speed I/O interfaces' jitter impact are studied. Concurrent stress validation software is used to induce SSO noise on each individual I/O interfaces; and at the same time; periodic noise is introduced from Core PDN into the I/O PDN domain. In order to have the maximum coupling impact, a prototype package is designed to merge the I/O and Core PDN as one while impact on jitter on each I/O interfaces are investigated. In order to understand the impact of the Core to I/O and I/O to I/O noise, the on-die noise measurements were measured and results were compared with the original PDN where each I/O and Core PDN are standalone and isolated are used as a benchmark.

Some Suggestion for Development of Maritime High School in Korea (우리나라 해운계 고등학교의 발전 과제와 대책)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose what developments for Korean Maritime high school are. In order to find out some proposals, the concerned literature survey and sata are used accordingly. This paper is consisted of 4 chapters. The contents of first chapter are focused on the study purpose and problems facing on the maritime high schools. The second are on the present situation of these schools. The third are on the improving proposals, the fourth are on the conclustions of this paper. The following proposals are abstracted through this study. The first, competent authority should be transferred to ministry of education from ministry of marine. The second, education system should be upgraded to junior college or 5 years education course. The third, maritime university permission should be opened for maritime high schol graduates. The fourth, training ship should be build for effective training course required from STCW 95. The fifth , if the graduates from maritime high school engage on board , all of them should be exempted from military service responsibility. The sixth , the education course should be diversified according to the need and demand from the industry society and students. The seventh, the on board-training system for teachers and instructors should be programmed in order to help them keep and utilize the on board experience in actural eudcation situation.

Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound Promotes Healing with Increases Collagen Deposition and Collagen mRNA Expression in Skin Wound of Rat (저강도 맥동초음파에의한 피부 상처 치유 촉진과 아교질 축적 및 아교질 mRNA 발현 증가)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 저강도 맥동 초음파적용이 흰쥐의 전층 상처 치유와 아교질 축적 및 아교질 mRNA발현에 미치는 영향을 규명할 목적으로 시행하였다. 방법: 12마리의 Sprague-Dawley계 흰쥐를 저강도 맥동 초음파군(n=6)과 대조군(n=6)에 무작위 배정하고 등에 $19.63mm^2$ 크기의 전층 적출 상처를 만든 다음 저강도 맥동 초음파군은 3 MHz, 순환주기 20%, SATA 강도 $0.4W/cm^2$로 1일 1회, 1회 5분씩 초음파를 적용하고, 대조군은 가짜 초음파를 적용하였다. 7일간 처치 후 초음파군과 대조군의 아교질 축적, 아교질 mRNA 발현, 상처치유율, 절반치유시간을 비교하였다. 결과: 초음파군의 아교질 축적(p<05)과 아교질 mRNA 발현(p<.01)이 대조군보다 유의하게 증가하였고, 상처치유율(p<.05)과 절반치유시간(p<.0)도 초음파군의 대조군보다 유의하게 빨랐다. 결론: 본 연구에서 전층 상처에 저강도 맥동 초음파를 적용한 결과 상처 치유가 촉진되었고 육아조직에 아교질 축적이 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 맥동 초음파의 기계적 자극이 제 1형 아교질 mRNA 전사활동을 촉진시키는 것으로 사료된다.

The effects of replacement fly ash with diatomite in geopolymer mortar

  • This article presents the effect of replacement fly ash (FA) with diatomite (DE) on the properties of geopolymer mortars. DE was used to partially replace FA at the levels of 0, 60, 80 and 100% by weight of binder. Sodium silicate ($Na_2SiO_3$) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions were used as the liquid portion in the mixture in order to activate the geopolymerization. The NaOH concentrations of 15M, $Na_2SiO_3$/NaOH ratios of 1.5 by weight, and the alkaline liquid/binder (LB) ratios by weight of 0.40, 0.50, 0.60 and 0.70 were used. The curing at temperature of $75^{\circ}C$ for 24 h was used to accelerate the geopolymerization. The flows of all fresh geopolymer mortars were tested. The compressive strengths and the stress-strain characteristics of the mortar at the age of 7 days, and the unit weights were also tested. The results revealed that the use of DE to replace part of FA as source material in making geopolymer mortars resulted in the increased in the workability, and strain capacity of mortar specimens and in the reductions in the unit weights and compressive strengths. The strain capacity of the mortar increased from 0.0028 to 0.0150 with the increase in the DE replacement levels from 0 to 100%. The mixes with 15M NaOH, $Na_2SiO_3$/NaOH of 1.5, LB ratio of 0.50, and using $75^{\circ}C$ curing temperature showed 7 days compressive strengths 22.0-81.0 MPa which are in the range of normal to high strength mortars.
