Introduction: Gutkha contains harmful and carcinogenic chemicals and oral cancer caused by tobacco usage has been reported as a major preventable cause of death worldwide by the World Health Organization. The Telangana state government implemented a ban on gutkha usage starting in 2013 but how effective this ban has been remains unclear. Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the actual impact of the gutkha ban on users and vendors. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among gutkha users and tobacco vendors in Ranga Reddy district, Telangana. Based on a pilot study the sample size was determined as 368 and 384 for users and vendors respectively. Two separate questionnaires were administered to these groups. The parameters studied mainly included knowledge regarding the ban, and its impact. Results: About 49.1% of the users were aware of the ban on gutkha. Newspapers were the main source of information regarding the ban as reported by 45.3% of users. After the ban, 29.8% of gutkha users switched to other tobacco products. Awareness of health hazards and non-availability of gutkha was the most important reason stated for quitting or reducing consumption. Conclusion: The perspective of ban when visualized from the users point of view depicted a negative impact while the vendors portrayed a positive impact. Considering the addictive potential of the ingredients of gutkha, recording the effects of the ban on regular consumers and determining whether they can still obtain the products by illicit trade, would be noteworthy for implementation of strict rules.

Message Authentication Code (MAC) assures integrity of messages. In Mobile WiMAX, 128-bit Cipher-based MAC (CMAC) is calculated for management messages but only the least significant half is actually used truncating the most significant 64 bits. Naming these unused most significant 64bits Shared Authentication Information (SAI), we suggest that SAI can be applied to protect the network from DDoS attack which exploits idle mode vulnerabilities. Since SAI is the unused half of CMAC, it is as secure as 64bits of CMAC and no additional calculations are needed to obtain it. Moreover, SAI doesn't have to be exchanged through air interface and shared only among MS, BS, and ASN Gateway. With these good properties, SAI can efficiently reduce the overheads of BS and ASN GW under the DDoS attack.

Engine emission regulations are becoming more stringent nowadays. In cold transient regime, about 80% THC is exhausted to the atmosphere in the first 200s (US FTP cycles). Accordingly, reducing emission levels in the cold period immediately after the engine start before the catalysts reach their working temperature will be an especially critical factor in meeting more stringent regulations in the future. In this study, the total hydrocarbon quantities are measured using a Fast FID with gasoline fuel for a 4-cylinde. Sl engine, including Secondary Air Injection (SAI) system. Commercial SAI device's direction is reverse to the exhaust flow. In this study, a swirl flow type SAI system which is positioned between the exhaust manifold and exhaust port, was developed. We compared the swirl type secondary air injection with a commercial secondary air injection of .everse flow. The swirl type SAI showed better results in reducing HC by 26% than the commercial flow type SAI of reverse flow which was caused by the better mixing between the exhaust gas and the secondary air.
Condition for fresh storage of tiger puffer in the liquid state were investigated in several experiments. When marine fish ringer solution and 1% NaCl were used as the diluent for the short-term preservation method, spermatozoa activity index (SAI) and survival rate showed the best result among the various diluents tested. The dilution rate for the shortterm preservation of spermatozoa was suitable between 3 and 5 times with the 1% NaCi diluent. The appropriate range of temperature for the short-term preservation showed between 0 and $5^{\circ}C$. In order to keep high SAI and survival rate of spermatozoa, antibiotic addition (800 ppm neomycin) could be suggested. These results indicated that the short-term preservation method could be employed in tiger puffer spermatozoa.

This paper describes our primary study for a new method of recognizing materials, which is need for precision work system. This is a study of dynamic characteristics of smart sensors, new method$(R_{SAI})$ has the sensing ability of distinguishing materials. Experiment and analysis are executed for finding the proper dynamic sensing condition. First, we developed advanced smart sensor. We made smart sensors for experiment. The type of smart sensor is HH type. The smart sensor was developed for recognition of material. Second, we develop new estimation methods that have a sensing ability of distinguish materials. Dynamic characteristics of sensor are evaluated through new recognition index$(R_{SAI})$ that ratio of sensing ability index. Distinguish of object is executed with $R_{SAI}$ method relatively. We can use the $R_{SAI}$ method for finding materials. Applications of this method are finding abnormal condition of object (auto-manufacturing), feeling of object(medical product), robotics, safety diagnosis of structure, etc.

In this study, a novel hierarchical approach is investigated to extract coronary vessel from X-ray angiogram. First, we propose to combine Decimation-free Directional Filter Bank (DDFB) and Homographic Filtering (HF) in order to enhance X-ray coronary angiographic image for segmentation purposes. Because the blood vessel ensures that blood flows in only one direction on vessel branch, the DDFB filter is suitable to be used to enhance the vessels at different orientations and radius. In the combination with HF filter, our method can simultaneously normalize the brightness across the image and increases contrast. Next, a coarse-to-fine strategy for iterative segmentation based on Otsu algorithm is applied to extract the main coronary vessels in different sizes. Furthermore, we also propose a new approach to segment very small vessels. Specifically, based on information of the main extracted vessels, we introduce a new method to extract junctions on the vascular tree and level of nodes on the tree. Then, the window based segmentation is applied to locate and extract the small vessels. Experimental results on our coronary X-ray angiography dataset demonstrate that the proposed approach can outperform standard method and attain the accuracy of 71.34%.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Successful Aging Inventory (SAI-K) to determine its suitability for use with older Korean adults. Methods: Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were utilized to assess the factor structure and the construct validity of the SAI-K. First- and second-order Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were conducted to identify the most adequate model. Cronbach's alpha was used to test the reliability. Results: Using a second-order CFA, a four-factor structure was validated (${\chi}^2$=122.82, p<.001, GFI=.92, AGFI=.88, SRMR=.06 RMSEA=.07, 90% CI=.05-.09, CFI=.93). The four-factor SAI-K showed reliable internal consistency with a Cronbach's alpha for the total scale of .86. Conclusion: The four-factor, 13-item SAI-K showed satisfactory reliability and validity and, thus, has the potential to be an appropriate instrument for measuring successful aging in older Korean adults.
Experiments were performed to find out the proper conditions of diluents for the short-tenn storage of sperm of black seabream, Acanthopagrus schlegeli. For milt collection, brood stock was reared in a recirculating seawater system. The following results indicated that short-term storage methods with fresh condition could tie employed in black seabream sperm. When the black seabream's serum was used as a diluent for the fresh storage, sperm activity index (SAI), fertilization rate and survival rate derived the best result in $7\~10\;days$ of storage. pH 7 and 8 showed the highest SAI in the same storage condition. In order to keep high SAI and survival rate of the sperm, addition of 800 ppm neomycine into the diluent revealed the best storage results.

Background : Previous studies have suggested a lack of complete cross-resistance between steroidal (exemestane) and non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors (nSAI). Methods : Eighty-eight metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients who received 25 mg of exemestane orally once a day at the National Cancer Center, Korea, between 2003 and 2009, were reviewed retrospectively. All patients had received nSAI for metastatic disease prior to exemestane therapy. Results : The median age was 52 years (range, 33-79), and 13 (14.8%) patients were premenopausal who concomitantly received GnRH agonist. Exemestane was given as a second- (80.7%) or third-line (19.3%) hormone therapy. The clinical benefit (CB) rate (complete response + partial response + stable disease ${\geq}$ 24 weeks) was 30.7%, with a median CB duration of 10.0 months (range, 6.3-78.7). The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 3.0 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.99-4.01) and the overall survival (OS) 21.5 months (95% CI, 17.96-25.04), with a median followup of 50.3 months. Patients who achieved CB had longer OS than those patients who did not (29.6 vs 17.9 months; P=0.002). On univariate analysis of predictive factors, patients who had achieved CB from previous nSAI tended to show lower CB rate (24.6% vs 44.4%, respectively; P=0.063) and shorter PFS (2.8 vs 4.8 months, respectively; p=0.233) than patients who had not. Achieving CB from previous nSAI became independent predictive factor for CBR to exemestane on multivariable analysis (Odds ratio = 2.852, P = 0.040). Conclusions : Exemestane after nSAI failure was effective in prolonging CB duration. The drug's efficacy seemed to be inferior in patients who had benefit from previous nSAI use.
Floating and hatching rates, size and survival activity index(SAI) of spawned eggs of red spotted grouper, Epinephelus akaara were studied to understand egg qualities during the spawning periods in 1992, 1993 and 1995. The fish spawned from mid-July to mid-August when temperature ranged 23~$28^\circC$. Floating, fertilization and hatching rates were higher in the eggs from early to middle than those from late during the spawning period. SAI ranged 1.8~9.6, and it was closely related to survival rate until mouth operning time (SMOT). Egg diameter decreased gradually with the time of spawning, while diameter of oil globule was constant during the spawning periods. Induced spawnings were carried out with one injection of HCG over 5, 000 IU/kg body weight. Floating, fertilization and hatching rates of the induced spawning eggs were higher than those of untreated ones. Thus, induced spawning method with HCG was recommended for collecting fertilized eggs in bulk. Optimal time for the collection of high quality eggs was supposed to be from early to middle during the spawning periods. Considering that egg qualities were vulnerable within the period, hatchability, incidence of malformed larvae, SMOT and SAI were factors to be considered together to get good quality of eggs.
