In cargo-working, it unavoidably happens that the quay crane slip along the rail and the container move from side to side. Especially, they involve a lot of risk in bad weather. The rail clamp is a mooring device to prevent that the quay crane slips along the rail due to bad weather or the wind blast while the quay crane do the cargo-working And it will play a greater role in port container terminal integration and automation To design the wedge type rail clamp, it is very important to determine the wedge angle. In this study, we expect that the design wind speed of the quay crane will change over 16m/s. Assuming that the design wind speed is 40m/s, we determined the proper wedge angle of the wedge type rail clamp for the 50ton class quay crane.
This paper presents the dynamic response and the vibration characteristics for a rail-track supported by discrete springs and dampers. Recently, automatic conveyer system, rail-track, rack-master system demand the soundproof facilities and vibration suppression measures in order to satisfy the strict environmental standards. The equations of motions of the dynamic characteristics for a vibration suppression rail-track under a traveling mass were derived by Galerkin's mode summation method considering gravity, centrifugal force, Coriolis force, inertia force of the moving mass, transverse inertia of the rail-track. Also, numerical results were calculated by Runge-Kutta integration method. In order to investigate vibration characteristics and dynamic responses, modal testing and measurement of the responses of the rail-track were performed. Through the experiment and numerical simulations, numerical results have a good agreement with experimental ones.
The rail clamp is the device to prevent the crane slips along a rail from the wind blast as well as to locate a container crane in the set position during an operating mode. In this study we conduct the research for determining the proper position of supporter to prevent the overload applied to the rail clamp with respect to the wedge angle in the wedge type rail clamp. The friction force between the jaw pad and the rail to prevent that the crane slips along a rail, when the wind blows, is generated fly the rail-directional wind load. Accordingly the proper position of the supporter to prevent the overload is determined fly analyzing the forces applied to the rail clamp in the wedge working stage. In order to analyze the effect of the wedge angle on the position of supporter, 5-kinds of wedge angles, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, $10^{\circ}$, were adapted as the design parameter, and the wind speed of 40m/s was adapted as the design wind speed criteria.
The major source of railway noises is rolling noise caused by the interaction of the wheels and rails. This rolling noise is generated by the roughness of the wheel/rail surface on tangent tack in the absence of discontinuities, such as wheel flats or rail joints. These roughness cause relative vibrations of the wheel and rail at their contact area. The vibrations generated at the contact area are transmitted through the wheel and rail structures, exciting resonances of the wheel and travelling waves ill tile rail. Then these vibrations radiate noise to the wayside. In this paper, we predict the rolling noise radiated from radial/axial motion of the wheel and vertical/lateral motion of the rail using Remington's analytical model and then compare of the predicted sound pressure and measured one. Although there are some inaccuracy in our predication these results show in good agreement between 500 ㎐ and 3150㎐.
Many services have been served by the exiting subway systems since they have opened in 1975. But its efficiency and competition were going down because of the high construction cost and difficult connection with other transportations, etc. Otherwise, the light rail transit system is much lower construction cost than the subway and the high way building. Also those systems are good at the inexpensive operation cost, the fixed time and safety, the easy access. Recently, the several provinces are planning or advancing the light rail transit system because of these many benefits. Consequently, those system's economical feasibility analysis is required rapidly to show the resonable construction's cause and to get the private investment. This paper offers the system's economical feasibility through the several benefit analysis after the light rail transit system's construction.
The dynamic model was developed to analyze vibration acceleration and ride comfort during the operation of rubber-tired light rail vehicles. The ride comfort for standing passengers was analyzed in accordance with ISO 2631-1, UIC 513R, and CEN Draft prENV 12299 using this model. The result was applied to the detail design of Korean-standard, rubber-tired light rail vehicles, and the detail specifications related to ride comfort was determined based on this result. The ride comfort test was performed along the test track by using 2 car-train, and its result was compared with that of the ride comfort analysis, verifying the validity of the developed dynamic model. It was also verified whether or not the developed Korean-standardized, rubber-tired light rail vehicle met specified target specifications on ride comfort.
Dynamic model of the Korea standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle, and boundary conditions between vehicle and infrastructures (running track, guidance rail) were defined to analyze vehicular vibration behaviors occurred at the worst condition. Using the commercialized software RecurDyn, vibration accelerations of car body and bogies were analyzed. and, based on the ISO standard 2631-1, the vibration characteristic test is performed in the test track. As the results, the Korea standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle satisfied the ISO standard criteria and design requirement.
Conventional methods for reducing vibration in engineering designs may be undesirable in conditions where size or weight must be minimized, or where complex vibration spectra exist. Some alloys with a combination of high damping capacity and good mechanical properties can provide attractive techanical and economical solutions to problems involving seismic, shock and vibration isolation. In this paper, it showed the noise and vibration characteristic was compared conventional rail joint to improved rail joint(damping alloy) for reducing noise and vibration. Its applicability to rail joint is discussed.
