This paper presents an analysis of impulse dispersion for impulse radio ultra-wide band(IR-UWB) antenna. A set of antenna structure configurations are highlighted with verification based on the STFT(Short Time Fourier Transform) in 3.1~5.1 GHz: first, a taper-slotted antenna allowing the optimal impulse transmission, and second, 4 types of the omni-directional IR-UWB antenna using different feed structures(microstrip line, and CPW(Coplanar Waveguide)). The proposed STFT allows the analysis of the IR-UWB antenna's dispersion characteristic.

In this paper, we designed, fabricated and tested an UHF band cylindrical dipole array antenna. In the proposed antenna, cylindrical dipoles were vertically arranged in four stages. A parallel structure feeding circuit was installed inside the cylindrical dipole and mounted so as to be broadband matching. The feeding circuit was installed at the center of the cylindrical dipole to optimize the gain flatness characteristic of the azimuth direction omnidirectional radiation pattern. Minimizing the difference between the signals branched from the feeding circuit and realizing the symmetry of the radiation pattern. The required specifications are more than 11.2% bandwidth in UHF band, above 6dBi antenna gain, standing wave ratio of 2:1 or less, less than ${\pm}1dB$ gain flatness in azimuth radiation pattern, more than 13 degrees in elevation radiation pattern of 3dB beamwidth. We confirmed the possibility of implementation through M&S and verified the result of M&S through production and testing. The test results are 11.2% bandwidth in the UHF band, 6.30 to 8.31 dBi gain, 1.53:1 standing wave ratio or less, within ${\pm}0.2dB$ gain flatness in the azimuth radiation pattern, elevation radiation pattern of 3dB beam width was 15.62 to 15.84 degrees. The test result meets all requirements specifications.

In this paper, the several printed square loop antennas which modified monopole antennas are proposed. The proposed antennas are reduced about 20% physical size of antenna and miniaturized reactance value of impedance due to fold center part of the loop. They obtained omni-directional radiation patterns with broad bandwidth and feed method used coplanar waveguide to composed single planar. The proposed antenna bandwidth is about 900MHz($2.63{\sim}3.56GHz]$) resonance frequency on $VSWR{\le}2$. it can be sufficiency of S-DMB band.

In this paper, to operate 2.4 GHz Inverted-L antenna with On-Board Broadband characteristics is proposed. The antenna was designed on the system board, the bandwidth by adjusting the reactance of the antenna that was formed common-mode and differential-mode on the antenna stubs has been improved. The system size is $80mm{\times}60mm$, the size of the antenna was limited to $30mm{\times}60mm$, the thickness of FR4 dielectric substrate is 0.8 mm, FR4 dielectric constant 4.4 is used. The experimental results, the bandwidth from 17.2 to 24.1 %, the gain is 3.01~4.71 dB, omni-directional radiation pattern characteristics were obtained. By a mobile terminal design applying the results of the paper, the handset's price competitiveness and production efficiency can be improved.
In the present study, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed printed monopole antenna with an inverted n-shaped slot is newly proposed for dual band operations which cover bandwidths of CDMA (1.85~2.025 GHz) and WLAN (2.4~2.484 GHz) as well as implementation of omnidirectional radiation pattern. For enhancement of impedance bandwidth ($S11{\leq}10dB$) in 2.4 GHz WLAN frequency band, an inverted n-shaped slot instead of the previous n-shaped slot is etched on the printed radiating monopole. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on one side of FR4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.4, thickness of 1.6 mm, and size of $50{\times}25mm^2$. It has been observed that the measured impedance bandwidths are 280 MHz (1.84~2.12 GHz) in frequency band of CDMA and 420 MHz (2.38~2.8 GHz) in WLAN frequency band respectively. It is noticeable that impedance bandwidth in 2.4 GHz frequency band of WLAN is enlarged to three times due to use of inverted L-shaped slot in comparison with impedance bandwidth 140 MHz (2.39~2.53 GHz) obtained by use of the previous n-shaped slot. In addition, good omnidirectional radiation patterns have been observed over the entire frequency band of interest.

This paper presents reconfigurable beam steering patch antenna with high gain for a wireless headset. Because existing antenna for wireless communication in headsets has an omni-directional radiation pattern, it has a deleterious effect in the vicinity of the human head. To reduce this effect, this paper proposed an antenna comprised of a U-slot and manufactured on a FR-4 substrate. The antenna operating at the 2.37-2.5 GHz band used a tapered matching method to match the impedance between the feed part and patch part. To implement the beam steering capability, the antenna used two PIN diodes. Using PIN diodes, the antenna presented three states ($S_0$, $S_1$ and $S_2$) in the maximum beam directions of the YZ-plane ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $330^{\circ}$, respectively). The peak gains of the antenna in the headset were 4.22-5.15 dBi. The fabricated antenna could communicate efficiently with a wireless headset.
In this paper, we propose a wireless video transmission scheme, providing medium and long range communication in the 2.4GHz band with beamforming. With this scheme, it is shown that the transmission rate of 32Mbps and received signal power of -77dBm is achieved with 4 antennas of 5dBi and 16dBm transmit power at each antenna connection for the distance of 3.6km. The scheme also provides transmission distance of 20km for 10~12Mbps with the 4 omni-directional antennas of 5dBi.

In this paper, the dual-ground, high-gain and broad-band internal antenna has been designed and fabricated for 4th-generation mobile communication applications. The optimized antenna was fabricated using photolithography method. The antenna consist of the patches, antenna and system ground, and a probe. The patch and ground plane were separated by air. In order to prevent the demage due to radiator swaying, the foams(${\varepsilon}_r{\fallingdotseq}1.03$) were used to fix the patches and ground. The conductor for the radiators was 0.05 [mm] thick. The measured input return loss showed less than -10 [dB] at the broadband from 3499 to 4743 [MHz]. It's measured bandwidth was 1244 [MHz]. The radiation patterns measured at 3400, 3600, 3800, 4000 and 4200 [MHz] showed Omni-directional characteristics. The gain in the E-plane and H-plane was 4.7 ~ 6.1 and 2.1 ~ 4.3 [dBi], respectively.

In this paper, the miniaturized radio frequency identification(RFID) tag antennas used in UHF band$(908.5{\sim}914MHz)$ are designed and fabricated by using the circular loop antenna(CLA). Miniaturization of CLA was possible to transform the structure of circular loop into the structure of meander line. In the case of double meander line CLA is reduced up to 83% compared with the general type CLA. The $S_{11}$, -10 dB bandwidth, and gain of double meander line CLA were -11.9 dB, 12 MHz(1.3%), and -1.18 dBd. Also, a small half-wavelength CLA using double meander line is designed and fabricated for flat snack bag coated aluminum. The antenna is reduced up to 92.1% except ground. It shows the $S_{11}$ of -16.5 dB, -10 dB bandwidth of 48 MHz(5%) and gain of -0.58 dBd. The radiation pattern shows omni-directional pattern in z-y plane(x-axis pol.). Through this result, we can confirm that miniaturized type CLAs using meander lines are suitable for miniaturized RFIB tag antennas with the UHF band.

In this thesis, the Multi element antenna with wideband and enhanced gain characteristic is proposed to operate at both frequency range from 824 MHz to 896 11Hz for the CDMA and frequency range from 908.5 MHz to 914 MHz for the RFID band. The proposed antenna has tile size of $35{\times}15{\times}5mm^3$ in order to put it in the A model of S company and each element of the proposed antenna is folded to obtain the minimum size. To obtain the antenna with wideband and high gain characteristic, the radiator of the antenna is divided into 4 elements. As a result, bandwidth of the proposed antenna become broader and lower center frequency is appeared due to increased and lengthened current path. Moreover, the enhanced gain characteristic is verified because divided element structure that induct uniform current distribution can get increased antenna efficiency. To attain more uniform current distribution, modified structure of the feeding point that can deliver currents directly is designed. The antenna that alters the feeding structure has higher gain value. Each element is folded to increase the current paths considering the current directions to attain the miniaturization of the antenna. To measure the handset antenna, the handset case must be considered. Even though antenna is designed for predicted characteristic, the resonance frequency is shifted and antenna gain is deteriorated at predicted frequency while antenna is set in the handset case. 1.08 GHz of the resonant frequency is determined after frequency shift from 150 MHz to 200 MHz is confirmed and the maximum gain is measured as 3.1 dBi while antenna is not set in the handset. In case handset case is considered, the experimental results show that the impedance bandwidth for VSWR<2 is from 0.824 GHz to 0.936 GHz(110 MHz). This result appears that the proposed antenna can cover both CDMA and RFID band at once. The measured gain is from -3.4 dBi to -0.5 dBi and it has omni-directional pattern practically.
