  • 1998년 시작된 초고속 인터넷 서비스는 약 4년 만에 세계 1위의 보급률을 보이고 있을 정도로 우리 나라의 정보통신 인프라는 급속도로 성장하여 왔다. 최근 유무선 통합 및 통신과 방송이 융합되는 광대역 통합망(BcN) 환경에서 초고속 인터넷 서비스와 디지털방송 서비스를 제공하기 위한 초고속 인프라의 가입자망 형태는 동선 기반의 ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)/VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) 및 광/동축 혼합망인 HFC, 광섬유 기반의 FTTH(Fiber To The Home) 등이 있다. 그 중에서 HFC는 그 동안 주로 케이블 TV 프로그램의 전송망으로 활용되어 오다가 최근 통신. 방송 융합 환경에서 초고속 인터넷 가입자망으로 부각되고 있다. 본 고에서는 HFC 망의 특성과 HFC 망의 핵심장비인 CMTS와 케이블모뎀의 시장 현황 및 전망에 대해서 알아보고, 광대역 통합망의 가입자망으로서의 HFC의 역할에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

ABUNDANCES OF PLANETARY NEBULAE IN M 31 AND M 32

  • Planetary nebulae provide a direct way to probe elemental abundances, their distributions and their gradients in populations in nearby galaxies. We investigate bulge planetary nebulae in M 31 and M 32 using the strong emission lines, H$\alpha$, He I, [O III], [N II], [S II] and [Ne III]. From the [O III] 4363/5007 line ratio and the [O II] 3727/3729, we determine the electron temperatures and number densities. With a standard modeling procedure (Hyung, 1994), we fit the line intensities and diagnostic temperatures, and as a result, we derive the chemical abundances of individual planetary nebulae in M 31 and M 32. The derived chemical abundances are compared with those of the well-known Galactic planetary nebulae or the Sun. The chemical abundances of M 32 appear to be less enhanced compared to the Galaxy or M 31.

PSF Deconvolution on the Integral Field Unit Spectroscopy Data

  • We present the application of the Point Spread Function (PSF) deconvolution method to the astronomical Integral Field Unit (IFU) Spectroscopy data focus on the restoration of the galaxy kinematics. We apply the Lucy-Richardson deconvolution algorithm to the 2D image at each wavelength slice. We make a set of mock IFU data which resemble the IFU observation to the model galaxies with a diverse combination of surface brightness profile, S/N, line-of-sight geometry and Line-Of-Sight Velocity Distribution (LOSVD). Using the mock IFU data, we demonstrate that the algorithm can effectively recover the stellar kinematics of the galaxy. We also show that lambda_R_e, the proxy of the spin parameter can be correctly measured from the deconvolved IFU data. Implementation of the algorithm to the actual SDSS-IV MaNGA IFU survey data exhibits the noticeable difference on the 2D LOSVD, geometry, lambda_R_e. The algorithm can be applied to any other regular-grid IFS data to extract the PSF-deconvolved spatial information.

  • In a material, micro-cracks can be progressively occurred, propagated and finally lead to failure when it is subjected to cyclic or periodic loading less than its ultimate strength. This phenomenon, fatigue, is usually considered in a metal, alloy and structures under repeated loading conditions. In underground structures, a static creep behavior rather than a dynamic fatigue behavior is mostly considered. However, when compressed air is stored in a rock cavern, an inner pressure is periodically changed due to repeated in- and-out process of compressed air. Therefore mechanical properties of surrounding rock mass and an inner lining system under cyclic loading/unloading conditions should be investigated. In this study, considering an underground lined rock cavern for compressed air energy storage (CAES), the mechanical properties of a lining system, that is, concrete lining and plug under periodic loading/unloading conditions were characterized through cyclic bending tests and shear tests. From these tests, the stability of the plug was evaluated and the S-N line of the concrete lining was obtained.

Ratio of Hammer Energy and Dynamic Efficiency of Standard Penetration Test (표준관입 시험 해머의 에너지비와 동적효율)

  • SPT hammer energy and its delivery are hon to influence the N value. The SPT hammer energy is classified into theoretical energy, velocity energy, rod energy and dynamic efficiency. In this study, the rod energy and the velocity energy are measured directly by PDA and Digital Line-Scan Camera which are most widely used type of SPT apparatus in Korea. The Dynamic efficiency is calculated through measured data. As the results of this study, the averages of rod energy ratio of donut, safety and automatic hammer are measured at 49.57, 61.60, and at $87.04\%$ by FV method. The averages of hammer velocity of donut, safety and automatic hammer are measured at $3.177{\pm}0.872$, $3.385{\pm}0.681$, and at $3.651{\pm}0.550$ m/s by Digital Line-Scan Camera, with the dynamic efficiencies at 0.732, 0.801, and 0.973 respectively.

  • A Comb Filter(C.F.) is constucted with a N-stages one-dimensional B.B.D.(Bucket-Brigade Device) delay line. One channel of the B.P.F. (Band Pass Filter) Bank is experimented, which includes a R.F.(Recursie Filter) using S/H circuits cascaded to the C.F. This algorithm of the C.F.B.(Comb Filter Bank) becomes the parallel spectrum analyzer circuit. The algorithm has less number of multiplication than that of FFT and improves the SNR.

  • 한국통신 연구개발단에서 개발한 국제망관리시스템(INMS)에서 필요로하는 망관리 데이터는 각 국제교환기로부터 발생즉시 온라인으로 수집되어 분석 처리되어야한다. 이들 망관리 데이터는 양이 많을뿐아니라 여러곳에 분산되어져 있는 교환기로부터 실시간으로 신뢰성있는 데이터를 온라인으로 수집하여야한다. 본 논문에서는 INMS의 온라인 수집시스템을 소개하고, 비동기식 데이터 통신에서의 전송에러검출 기법을 적용한 온라인 프로토콜에 의한 온라인 데이타 수집기법을 소개하였다.

  • In this work we develop an equivalent circuit model of TCP(transformer coupled plasma) source and investigate matching characteristic. The developed circuit model includes transmission line, standard-type impedance matching network and displacement current in the plasma source. The impedance of TCP is calculated by previously developed program for various source parameters and dependance of components of matching impedance on the value of source impedance is investigated.
