  • The plasma polymerized thin film of MMA+Sty was prepared using a capacitively coupled gas-flow-type reactor. This thin films were also delincated by the electron-beam apparatus with an acceleration voltage 30KV, and the pattern in the resist was developed with the gas-flow-type reactor using an argon as an etchant. The effect of discharge power on groth rate and etching rate of the thin film were studied. The molacular structure of the resist was investigated by ESCA and FT-IR.

  • To explore the effects of intramolecular interactions within the copolymer on the phase separation behavior of polymer blends, copolymers having two different types of intramolecular interactions, i.e., intramolecular repulsion and intramolecular attraction were prepared . In this study, poly(styrene-co-methylmethacrylate) (P(S-MMA)) having intramolecular repulsion caused by positive interaction between styrene and MMA and poly(styrene-co-ethyl-methacrylate) (P(S-EMA)) and poly(styrene-co-cyclohexylmethacrylate) (P(S-CHMA)) having intramolecular attraction caused by negative interaction between styrene and methacrylate were blended with tetramethyl poly-carbonate (TMPC). The phase behavior of blends was examined as a function of copolymer composition and blend composition. TMPC formed miscible blends with styrenic copolymers containing less than certain amount of methacrylate. The phase separation temperature of TMPC blends with copolymer such as P(S-MMA) and P(S-EMA), first increases with methacrylate content, goes through a maximum and then decreases just prior to the limiting content of methacrylate for miscibility, while that of TMPC blends with P(S-CHMA) always decreases. The calculated interaction energy for TMPC-P(S-EMA) pair is negative and monotonically increases with EMA content of the copolymer. Such behavior contradicted the general notion that systems with more favorable energetic interactions have higher LCST, The detailed inspection of the lattice-fluid theory related to the phase behavior was performed to explain such behavior.

  • MMA(Multi-Modulus Algorithm) is inferior at a initial equalization in high ISI(intersymbol interference), because it is the inaccurate decision. To improve this probel SMMA(Sliced Multi-Modulus Algorithm) is based on using the MCMA(Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm). SMMA is a improved capability than MMA in high SNR but is inaccurate decision in low SNR. In this paper, We propose some multi-modulus blind equalization algorithm scheme. It is a method of operation in some multi-modulus algorithm which does no obstruct a convergence property at the initial equalization in the low SNR. Proposed algorithm improves the steady-state performance. And it uses residual ISI of the equalizer output in order to decide the optimum switching time between the single modulus and the multi-modulus algorithm.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of tasks setting for mathematical modelling in the complex real situations. The tasks setting(MMa, MeA) in mathematical modelling was so important that we can't ignore its effects to develop meaning and integrate mathematical ideas. The experimental setting were two groups ($N_1=103$, $N_2=103$) at public high school and non-experimental setting was one group($N_3=103$). In mathematical achievement, we found meaningful improvement for MeA group on modelling tasks, but no meaningful effect on information processing tasks. The statistical method used was ACONOVA analysis. Beside their achievement, we were much concerned about their modelling approach that TSG21 had suggested in Category "Educational & cognitive Midelling". Subjects who involved in experimental works showed very interesting approach as Exploration, analysis in some situation ${\Rightarrow}$ Math. questions ${\Rightarrow}$ Setting models ${\Rightarrow}$ Problem solution ${\Rightarrow}$ Extension, generalization, but MeA group spent a lot of time on step: Exploration, analysis and MMa group on step, Setting models. Both groups integrated actively many heuristics that schoenfeld defined. Specially, Drawing and Modified Simple Strategy were the most powerful on approach step 1,2,3. It was very encouraging that those experimental setting was improved positively more than the non-experimental setting on mathematical belief and interest. In our school system, teaching math. modelling could be a answer about what kind of educational action or environment we should provide for them. That is, mathematical learning.

  • The phase-transfer polymerization of methyl methacrylate with tricaprylmethylammonium chloride-$Na_2S_2O_4-CCl_4$ initiator system was investigated in an aqueous-organic two-phase system. The observed rates of polymerization were compared with those obtained from the polymerization mechanism proposed with a cyclic phase-transfer initiation step. The rate of polymerization was found to be proportional to the concentration of $Q^+$ and square root of ${S_2O_4}^{-2}$ in the aqueous solution and the feed quantity of $CCl_4$ and MMA.

  • The monomer, 1-(2-carbomethoxyacryloyl)-5-fluorouracil(CMAFU) was synthesized from trans-${\beta}$-carbomethoxyacryl chloride and 2, 4-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-5-fluoropyrimidine. A copolymer of CMAFU with methyl methacrylate (MMA)[poly(CMAFU-co-MMA)] was also prepared with 2, 2'-azobisisobutyronitrile in cyclohexanone at $60^{\circ}C$. Physiological genetic effects of 5-fluorouracil(5-FU), CMAFU and poly(CMAFU-co-MMA) on Drosophila melanogaster were investigated by the adult feeding method of Lewis and Bacher. It was found that a physiological genetic effect on the Drosophila melanogaster was considerably weaker for CMAFU and its copolymer than 5-FU.

  • In this paper, ITO gate electrode surface was modified using $O_2$ plasma and organic gate insulating layers were deposited on the ITO surface using plasma polymerization technique. In order to investigate the influence of the plasma coupling method and plasma conditions on the plasma polymerized methyl methacrylate (ppMMA) thin film properties, inductively coupled (ICP) and capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) were used to generate the plasma and the plasma parameters were varied. The ppMMAs were investigated using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and a Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Dielectric constants of the ppMMA thin films were investigated using a impedance analyzer (HP4192A, LF Impedance Analyzer). Current-Voltage (I-V) characteristics of the organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) were investigated using a source measurement unit (SMU: Keithley 2612). Proposed method can be applied to dry-process to fabricate OTFTs during overall fabricating steps.

  • The bulk thermal and photopolymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA) with phenylsilane were performed to produce poly(MMA)s containing phenylsilyl moiety presumably as an end group. It was found for both thermal and photopolymerization that while the polymerization yields and polymer molecular weights decreased as the relative phenylsilane concentration increases, the TGA residue yields and the relative intensities of SiH IR stretching bands increased with increasing molar ratio of phenylsilane over MMA. The polymerization yield, molecular weight, and TGA residue yield for the thermal polymerization were higher than those for the photopolymerization. Thus, the phenylsilane seemed to significantly influence on the polymerization as both chain initiation and chain transfer agents. However, an appreciable silane effect was not observed on the thermal and photopolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine, acrylonitrile, styrene, and vinyltrimethoxysilane.

  • The various types of PBA/PMMA composite latexes were prepared by $2.1\;{\mu}m$ PBA seeded batch and seeded semi-continuous dispersion polymerization. The morphology of the PBA/PMMA composite latexes by seeded batch process was found to be closely dependant on the weight ratios of methanol/water in polymerization medium and of PBA seed/MMA at the second stage. In general, egg, snowman, confetti, peanut-like nonspherical composite latex particles were formed with increasing amount of water and MMA as a result of the occurrence of the phase separation between PBA seed and PMMA. The morphology of the PBA/PMMA composite latexes by seeded semi-continuous process was controlled by the addition time of MMA, especially, spherical shaped core(PBA)/shell(PMMA) composite latex particles were prepared under the monomer-starved condition at the second stage.
