Acetylshikonine 및 합성 Naphthazarin 유도체의 L1210 및 S-180 암에 대한 항암효과 (Antitumor Effects of Acetylshikonine and some Synthesized Naphthazarins on L1210 and S-180 Systems)

  • Acetylshikonine, isolated from the root of Lithospermum erythrorhizon showed a strong cytotoxic activity ($ED_{50}=0.10\;ug/ml$) against L1210 cell and T/C = 182% in ICR mice bearing S-180 at a dose of 5 mg/kg. Administrations of 10 mg/kg and 15 mg/kg reduced the T/C values to 60 and 77% respectively. Higher doses reveal toxicity. Seven naphthazarin derivatives synthesized showed good cytotoxic activities against L1210 cell. Especially, naphthazarin and hydronaphthazarin have strong activities ($ED_{50}=0.05\;ug/ml$ for both). Naphthazarin showed a severe toxic effect on ICR mice bearing S-180; no significant toxic effect was observed at a dose of 1 mg/kg or 2 mg/kg, but a severe toxicity (T/C = 23%) by administration of 5 mg/kg. Alkylation of C-2 of naphthazarin is necessary for reducing the toxic effect on ICR mice bearing S-180.

Effect of Low Dose Mutagens on Adoptive Response and Plasma Membrane Glycoconjugates in Sarcoma 180 Cells

  • The present investigation was performed to elucidate the effect of pretreatment with low dose ultraviolet radiation (UV) and ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) on cell survival by trypan blue dye exclusion method and plasma membrane glycoconjugates by lectin-cytochemistry in sarcoma 180 (S180) cells. Pretreatment with 2 J/$m^2$ UV or 2 mM EMS increased the percentage of survival of cells subsequently treated with high dose UV (10 or 20 J/$m^2$) or EMS (10 or 20 mM), respectively. Staining intensity of concanavalin A (Con A) of the cells pretreated with 2J/$m^2$ UV or 2 mM EMS and subsequently treated with 10 or 20 mM EMS was stronger than that of the cellstreated with 10 or 20 mM EMS. These results suggest that there is an adaptive response on cell survival to EMS or UV in S180 cells. And the results show a change in mannose-containing glycoconjugates of plasma membrane in S180 cells pretreated with EMS or UV and subsequently treated with EMS.

A Genetic Algorithm for Order Picking in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems with Multiple Stock Locations

  • This research deals with an order picking problem in automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). When retrieval requests consist of multiple items and the items are in multiple stock locations, the storage/retrieval (S/R) machine must travel to numerous storage locations to complete each order. The aim of this research is to propose algorithms for the resolution of order picking problems with multiple stock locations to minimize the total time traveled by the S/R machine. We present and compare three alternatives for solving the problem based on enumeration, ordinary heuristic and genetic algorithms. We used a set of 180 different problems that are solved by these three algorithms. The results show that our proposed genetic algorithm is more efficient than the other two.

  • 본 논문에서는 실제 이동통신 단말기에 적용 가능한 다중대역 폴디드 모노폴 내장형 안테나를 제안하였다. 기존에 제안되었던 폴디드 모노폴 안테나와 달리 다중 공진 특성을 나타내고, 고주파수 대 역에서는 일반적인 모노폴 안테나와 같이 광대역 특성을 가진다. 제작된 안테나의 측정된 대역폭은 정재파비 3 이하 기준으로 저주파수 대역과 고주파수 대역에서 각각 180 MHz와 1,880 MHz를 가지며, 현재 상용화되는 모든 서비스 대역(CDMA, GSM, GPS, DCS, PCS, W-CDMA, WiBro, S-DMB)에서 효과적으로 동작하는 것을 확인하였다.

철도 고속화에 따른 단계별 신호시스템 구축방안 연구 (A Study on Establishment of Signaling Systems to Speed up Conventional Railway)

  • Studies suggested an increase in the competitiveness and roles of mainline railways like speed and accessibility improvement, as a fundamental direction of the National Transport Network Plan. At this point, topics presented especially for strengthening the role of human and environment centered transportation: as to the greatly improved speed competitiveness, there are an operational speed above 180km/h ~ 200km/h and traveling within 2 ~ 3 hours among big cities. As to accessibility improvement, there are accessibility to main railway stations within 30 minutes, and the improvement of accessibility, safety, eco-friendliness, amenity etc. As a part of these suggestions, field specific plans were proposed for the establishment of expressed mainline railway network in Korea such as train's, civil structures, trolley lines etc. In this paper we analyzed the conventional lines and systems to figure out whether to change details in terms of H/W of signaling system. Additionally, we reviewed the compatibility or difference of signalling system depending on train's speed. With this result, we deduced the number of virtual blocks specific to the speed of 180km/h, 200km/h and 230km/h, which were showed for the speed improvement considering each variable like blocks, braking distance etc. In this way, we suggested the railway signal system establishment plan considering safety operation.

  • 운전면허시험을 응시하는 사람들은 면허취소 등으로 재시험을 보는 사람들도 있지만, 대부분 자동차를 운전하기 위해 최초로 운전을 배워 시험을 응시하는 사람들이 대부분이다. 자동차 운전은 생명과 직결되는 것으로 초기의 정확한 운전습관이 무엇보다 중요하다. 특히 사회에 첫 진출을 하면서 운전면허를 취득하는 사람들이 많기 때문에 처음 운전을 배울 때 객관적이고 공정한 기준에 의해 올바른 운전능력을 평가받아 면허를 취득하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문을 통해 구현하고자하는 시스템은 효율적이면서도 공정하고 정확한 자동화 채점을 통해 양질의 운전자를 배출할 수 있는 S/W 설계 및 주요 기능들에 대해 고찰, 제안하였다. 이를 통해 자동채점 운전면허 시스템 개선을 제안하여, 교통사고를 예방하고 올바른 운전을 통해 교통사고를 줄이는데 목적이 있다.

비전 방식을 이용한 감정인식 로봇 개발 (Development of an Emotion Recognition Robot using a Vision Method)

  • This paper deals with the robot system of recognizing human's expression from a detected human's face and then showing human's emotion. A face detection method is as follows. First, change RGB color space to CIElab color space. Second, extract skin candidate territory. Third, detect a face through facial geometrical interrelation by face filter. Then, the position of eyes, a nose and a mouth which are used as the preliminary data of expression, he uses eyebrows, eyes and a mouth. In this paper, the change of eyebrows and are sent to a robot through serial communication. Then the robot operates a motor that is installed and shows human's expression. Experimental results on 10 Persons show 78.15% accuracy.

  • RF 송수신기 설계 분야에서 활발하게 연구하고 있는 융복합 단일칩 설계 기술은 차내 무선망을 위한 차량 무선 단말기에도 적용 가능하며, 이의 실현을 통하여 좀 더 경제적이고 소형화된 차내 융복합 시스템을 구현할 수 있다. 제안된 광대역 전압제어 발진기는 차내 무선망에 사용할 수 있는 표준인 CDMA, PCS, GSM850, 끌림, WCDMA, WLAN, Bluetooth, WiBro, S-DMB, DSRC, GPS, DVB-H/DMB-T/H(L Band) 등의 주파수 대역을 만족시킬 수 있도록 제안된 frequency planning을 따른다. 또한, cross-coupled된 트랜지스터 한 쌍과 MOS varactor에 PMOS를 채택함과 동시에, capacitor array에서는 differential 스위칭을 사용함으로써 위상잡음을 개선하였다. 측정결과, $5.3{\sim}6.0\;mW$의 전력을 소모하며, 주파수 대역은 $4.05{\sim}5.62\;GHz$ (33%의 tuning range)이고 위상잡음은 1 MHz의 offset 주파수에서 -117.16 dBc/Hz이며 이때 figure of merit (FOM)은 $180.5{\sim}180.8$이다.

무선 센서 네트워크의 자기 조직화된 클러스터의 에너지 최적화 구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Energy Efficient Self-Organized Clustering for Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • Efficient energy consumption is a critical factor for deployment and operation of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To achieve energy efficiency there have been several hierarchical routing protocols that organize sensors into clusters where one sensor is a cluster-head to forward messages received from its cluster-member sensors to the base station of the WSN. In this paper, we propose a self-organized clustering method for cluster-head selection and cluster based routing for a WSN. To select cluster-heads and organize clustermembers for each cluster, every sensor uses only local information and simple decision mechanisms which are aimed at configuring a self-organized system. By these self-organized interactions among sensors and selforganized selection of cluster-heads, the suggested method can form clusters for a WSN and decide routing paths energy efficiently. We compare our clustering method with a clustering method that is a well known routing protocol for the WSNs. In our computational experiments, we show that the energy consumptions and the lifetimes of our method are better than those of the compared method. The experiments also shows that the suggested method demonstrate properly some self-organized properties such as robustness and adaptability against uncertainty for WSN's.
