In order to synthesize AlN-polytypes from AlN-SiO2-Al2O3 system, composition A (AlN/SiO2/Al2O3=1/0.3/0.05, mole ratio) and composition B(AlN-SiO2-Al2O3=1/0.2/0.05, mole ratio) were used. AlN-polytypes were produced by nitriding the mixture at 175$0^{\circ}C$~190$0^{\circ}C$ under N2 atmosphere. For lower reaction temperature, 15R phase was produced and in the case of higher reaction temperature, AlN phase was only produced. As each composition was heated at 185$0^{\circ}C$ in N2 atmosphere, produced main phases were 15R phase for composition A and 21R phase for composition B respectively. The fracture surfaces of produced reactants showed porous skeleton structure.
We investigated the CVPE grown of GaN thin films on (0001) sapphire using the $GaCl_3$ and $NH_3$ as source gases. The growth temperatures are ranged 970 to $1040^{\circ}C$ with the various flow rate ratio of source gases. The nitridation treatment was performed using the $NH_3$ gas before the GaN deposition. The optimal growth conditions were determined to be; growth temperature of $1040^{\circ}C$, III/V flow rate ratio of 2, nitridation time of 3 min. The FWHM at the (0002) peak from the XRD analysis was shown to be 0.32 deg. for the sample grown under those conditions. The growth rate was about $40{\mu}m/hr$ at $1040^{\circ}C$.

The $CuInS_2$ thin film had the greatest grain size of $1.2{\mu}m$ and Cu/In composition ratio of 1.03. Lattice constant of a and c of that $CuInS_2$ thin film was 5.60 A and 11.12 A respectively. Single phase $CuInS_2$ thin films were accepted from Cu/In composition ratio of 0.84 to 1.3. P-type $CuInS_2$ thin films were appeared at over Cu/In composition ratio of 0.99. Under Cu/In composition ratio of 0.96, conduction types of $CuInS_2$ thin films were n-type. Also, fundamental absorption wavelength, the absorption coefficient and optical energy band gap of p-type $CuInS_2$ thin film with Cu/In composition ratio of 1.3 was 837 nm, $3.0{\times}104cm^{-1}$ and 1.48 eV respectively. When Cu/In composition ratio was 0.84, fundamental absorption wavelength, the absorption coefficient and optical energy band gap of n-type $CuInS_2$ thin film was 821 nm, $6.0{\times}10^4cm^{-1}$ and 1.51 eV respectively.

This pot experiments were conducted to find out the optimal fertilization ratios of the N:S:P anions and K:Ca:Mg cations of major nutrients in an orchardgrass/ladino clover mixed sward. The optimum ratios in equivalent basis were computed by the Homes systematic variations technique. The soil samples were collected from the newly reclaimed soils, which are located on colluvial hilly area with a good consideration for the hilly pasture development. The results were summarized as follows; 1, the optimum fertilization ratios of major nutrients for the high yields by the forage species in a mixed sward were obtained (Table 4 in detail); N:S:P = 3:l: 1 and K:Ca:Mg = 1:l: 1 for grass and grass plus legume, and N:S:P = 1:6:43 and K:Ca:Mg = 1: 3: 1 for legume in general. 2. The yield increases from the systematic variations in this mixed sward were laid in following order; N > P >S-group and K >Mg >Ca-group for grass and grass plus legume, and P >S >N-group and Ca >Mg > K-group for legume. Especially, the yields were greatly increased at the N-group for grass, and at the Pand Ca-groups for legume. 3. Soil pH-value was descreased at the Sgroup, and somewhat increased at the Ca- and Mg-groups. The content of available $P_2O_5$, CEC and base saturation were greatest with the Ca-group. 4. At the N-group, the N-contents were highest and the P-contents were lowest in grass and grass plus legume, which resulted in the highest Ca/P ratio of 2.15 among the anion groups. Whereas the highest Ca/P ratio of 9.20 in legume was obtained at the Ca-group. Legume showed in general higher Ca/P ratio and lower K/(Ca+Mg) ratio than these in grass. 5 . There were differences in the effects of systematic variations of major nutrients on the dry matter yields and the mineral yields. The optimum fertilization ratios of anions and cations for the high mineral yields were obtained (Table E), which showed differences comparing with the ratios for the high dry matter yields. The antagonis between the cations K and Mg was known from the point of mineral yields of mixed forages.
This paper deals with a fatigue life prediction of a surface crack based on the experimentally obtained relationship between surface crack length ratio $a/a_{f}$ and cycle ratio $N/N_{f}$ using micro computer. Firstly $a/a_{f}$-$N/N_{f}$ curves obtained from experimental tests, were assumed as three curves UC(the upper limit curve), LC(the lower limit curve) and MC(the middle curve), and these were utilized to predict the fatigue life. Comparing the calculated values which represent the characteristics of crack growth behaviors from the three assumed curves with the experimental ones, it has been found that in the stable crack growth region, they coincide reasonably well each other. And the differences between the fatigue lives obtained from the assumed curves and the experimental fatigue life did not exceed 20%. Using the characteristics of $a/a_{f}$-$N/N_{f}$ curves, it is possible to predict the da/dN-Kmax curves and the S-$N_{f}$ curves.

The comparison of $J_{Rice}$-resistance considering a few strength ratio in Rice J-integral formula and $J_{\delta}$-resistance curves converted from experimental CTOD using appropriate strength chosen according to strain hardening level, n=10.6 (A533B steel) and n=8.1 (BS4360 steel) is carried out. The optimal dimensionless strength ratio like the factor of revision, (see full text)reflecting strain hardening level in Rice\`s experimental formula is found out and the reliability of appropriate reference strength chosen according to strain hardening level in different materials is investigated through doing that CTOD is transformed from $J_{\delta}$-integral using relationship between J-integral and CTOD. The results are as follows; 1) The optimal factor of revision is when m equals to 3 in (see full text) for Rice's and the above optimal factor of revision multiplies by coefficient, η in Rice's experimental formula instead of n=2, 2) and the pertinent reference strength for high strain hardening material like BS4360 steel is ultimate strength, $\sigma_{u}$ and for material like A533B steel is ultimate-flow strength, $\sigma_{u-f}$. The incompatible of the behavior of both experimental J-resistance curves using Rice's formula and CTOD-resistance curves for A533B and BS4360 steel by Gordon, et al., could be corrected using the optimal factor of revision in Rice\`s and the pertinent reference strength in J=$m_{j}$${\times}$$\sigma_{i}$${\times}$CTOD.
In the source localization using single dipole model, the influence of the number of electrodes, the position and direction of a single dipole on the relation between S/W ratio and dipole parameter estimation errors is important. Monte Carlo simulation was used to investigate this influence. The forward problem was calculated using three spherical shell model, and dipole parameters were optimized by means of simplex method. As the number of electrodes became large, as the dipole went from midbrain to cortex, and as the direction of dipole changed from radial to tangential, the average and standard deviation of estimation errors became small.

In this paper, we suggest a parallel algorithm to merge priority queues organized in two heaps, kheap and nheap of sizes k and n, correspondingly. Employing max(2$^{-1}$, $\ulcorner$(m+1)/4$\lrcorner$'s processors, this algorithm requires O(log(n/k)*log(n)) on an EREW-PRAM, where i is the height of the heap and m is the summation of sizes n and k. Also, when we run it on the MasPar machine, this method achieves a 33.934-fold speedup with 64 processors to merge 8 million data items which consist of two heaps of different sizes. So our parallel algorithm's EPU is close to 1, which is considered as an optimal speedup ratio.eedup ratio.
Jurassic granite from Pocheon area were tested to investigate the effect of microcracks on mechanical properties of the granite. Three oriented core specimens were used for uniaxial compressive tests and each core specimen are perpendicular to the axes'R'(rift plane),'c'(grain plane) and'H'(hardway plane), respectively Among vacious elastic constants, the variation of Poisson's ratio as function of the directions was examined. From the related chart between ratio of failure strength and Poisson's ratio, H-specimen shows the highest range in Poisson's ratio and Poisson's ratio decreases in the order of C-specimen and R-specimen. The curve pattern is nearly linear in stage $I\simIII$ but the slope increases abruptly in stage H-3. As shown in the related chart, diverging point of a curve is formed when ratio of failure strength is $0.92\sim0.96$ Stage IV -3 is out of elastic region. The behaviour of rock in the four fracturing stages was analyzed in term of the stress-volumetric strain me. From the stress increment-volumetric strain equations governing the behaviour of rock, characteristic material constants, a, n, Q, m and $\varepsilon_v^{mcf}$, were determined. Among these, inherent microcrack porosity$(a, 10^{-3})$ and compaction exponent(n) in the microcrack closure region(stage I ) show an order of $a^R(3.82)>a^G(3.38)>a^H(2.32)\;and\;n^R(3.69)>n^G(2.79)>n^H(1.99)4, respectively. Especially, critical volumetric microcrack strain($\varepsilon_v^{mcf}$) in the stage W is highest in the H-specimen, normal to the hardway plane. These results indicate a strong correlation between two major sets of microcracks and mechanical properties such as Poisson's ratio and material constants. Correlation of strength anisotropy with microcrack orientation can have important application in rock fracture studies.
