Global food prices have skyrocketed due to international uncertainties such as COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian War. In this context, the importance of rural areas as a source of food production is also rapidly increasing. However, the issue of regional extinction is emerging as Korea faces the world's lowest fertility rate and fastest aging population. Also, rural areas are losing their population more rapidly than large cities. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that can encourage the influx of fishermen to prevent the disappearance of these fishing villages. As a result of the analysis, in order to prevent the disappearance of fishing villages, among the infrastructure, natural environment, and residential environment variables, the ratio of aged housing related to quality of life, culture and amenities coefficients were found to have a greater impact than other variables. Based on these results, it is judged that it is necessary to establish a sufficient level of infrastructure in fishing villages and to prioritize policies for improving the residential environment.
In order to achieve carbon neutrality in the architectural field by 2050, this study analyzed the energy impact proportional to CO2 emissions of each technique, such as design methods, the properties of building structures, prefabrication methods, passive houses, and active facilities. In addition, the results were presented quantitatively in terms of carbon reduction, and corresponding housing cases were analyzed. The research method is limited to residential buildings at the Passive House energy level, and carbon reduction techniques and elements in architecture are examined through various literature and materials, and empirical cases are analyzed to determine the specific possibility of realizing carbon reduction in architecture. We want to secure it. Based on these analysis results, it was possible to suggest that it is possible to explore various approaches to carbon reduction in future residential construction. By combining the most efficient techniques according to the energy reduction level or goal setting of the building in question, we expect the possibility of achieving the goal of carbon reduction in the residential sector more realistically.
The purpose of this article is to offer a guideline for residence planning for Koreans living in the United States. To achieve the goal, this article examines the Korean family's satisfaction rates of interior design and living conditions of houses in American cities, with a case study of families in Columbia, MO. A total of 105 valid samples(126 collected) out of 200 survey questionnaires distributed was acquired and processed with the statistical-aid software SPSS PC+ window version 14.0. The survey was analyzed using frequency, percentages, means, standard deviations, and multiple response analysis. The results are as follow: 1) Most of the Koreans preferred interior design and environment similar to their previous Korean residences. 2) Participants were not satisfied with partial/indirect lightings typical in the United States and desired more bright illuminating lights. 3) Participants kept their habit of taking off shoes indoors while living in the United States, therefore when designing a house for Koreans living in the U.S., designers should take this into account when designing for Korean residents. 4) Among the American interior elements, storage such as walk-in closets and bathroom cabinets were highly demanded by Koreans, thus possibly to be adopted to Korean houses. Researchers expect the results of this study would contribute to supplying comfortable and convenient living environments to those Koreans living in the United States.
This study aims to find the association between community scales and perceived community family-friendliness among parents with young children. Communities were identified into three groups: metropolitan, small and medium-sized cities and rural, according to the degree of urbanization. The data were drawn from a sample of 1,038 parents who had at least one pre-school child. The data were analyzed by frequencies, means, GIS, ANOVA, and multiple regressions. This research is a basic study to minimize the risk of disaster (earthquakes and landslides) for rural residential houses. In this study, three-dimensional numerical analysis was performed by varying the diameter (D), thickness (T) and the spacing of longitudinal members (C.T.C) of duralumin and galvanized steel pipe as the materials of main members in order to carry out the analysis of the dimension and the applied load of shelter for disaster prevention, and to evaluate the eligibility of members that can satisfy safety and usability. From the evaluation results of the member eligibility by the above numerical analysis, it was found that duralumin has a great influence on the member diameter (D) and thickness (T), and in the case of galvanized steel pipe, its spacing of longitudinal members has a huge amount of influence over the member force, so it is considered that the duralumin and galvanized steel pipe materials can be used as materials for the main members of disaster prevention shelters in terms of safety and usability.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the cross-sectional ratio of the courtyard, an external space that not only was used as a workplace, shelter, and playground in our lives, but also gave symbolic meaning to Koreans. Since the beginning of 2000, Hanok began to receive rapid attention from people, and Hanok construction and remodeling were actively carried out in urban and rural areas. In particular, Bukchon and Seochon in Seoul, around Cheonmachong in Gyeongju, and Hanok Village in Jeonju became popular places related to hanok, and Gyeongju, Buyeo, Gongju, and Iksan were designated as ancient districts to encourage the construction of hanok. However, although hanok is being built with national trends, support, and interest, attention is focused only on the external form, materials, and convenience of use, and the composition and system of the external space have not been properly reviewed. Therefore, this study aims to understand the functions and meanings of the yard in traditional housing, and to analyze the proportion of the height of the building surrounding the yard and the depth of the yard in terms of closure and opening. In addition, the system and characteristics of the external space of traditional architecture felt by this can be used as basic data in designing traditional architecture.
